  1. Good point, at least on my phone Chrome seems to keep the address bar there no matter where on the page you are. Of course, refreshing jumps you back to the top of the page, so you're still left scrolling the length of the page once.
  2. There's an Invision Forum app for iOS, but not Android. However, it also doesn't solve your problem, refresh is still at the top.
  3. I'm not sure how that helps? From what I understand, the concern is that he's sitting at the bottom of a thread and wants to reload it without having to scroll all the way to the top to hit his browsers' refresh button.
  4. Cool, your ambition and efforts are certainly admirable and appreciated. As I said before, I'm in!
  5. Oops! Sorry about that, my mistake. $10k is conceivable but ambitious. It would clearly require going beyond this community, as at $20 a pop you'd need 500 donors. Add in some $100 whales and you're still looking at 20 $100 donors and 400 $20 donors, etc... It either needs some pretty big numbers of people or some pretty big donations. My point in doing that math, though, was going to be to contrast it with some of the larger ticket ideas being floated. If that's what it takes to raise $10k, raising a significantly larger number simply requires some pretty dig donations; sheer volume of small donations is unlikely to work. For $10k, though, the "small" donations are clearly quite helpful, but if there were also a way to juice some "big" ones that would go far.
  6. As I tried to say a page or so back, the big missing fact here is the target. I would think step #1 in fundraising is establishing a target. I have no idea what uniforms cost, but 85 of them can't be cheap. An IPF, though, is in such a different class that it's probably simply unachievable by "small" donations. I'm not trying to throw cold water on the idea, rather I'm quite happy to support any of these causes, but there does have to be a common understanding of the goal (which, in this case, is a dollar number).
  7. I will match all contributions.
  8. That's pretty close to right. .500 is the first measurable risk of dropping to #2. Winning only 2 of the 6 makes it a very real possibility. Less than that makes it very likely. It's tough to imagine QU not being a 1 seed.
  9. I remember the good old days when JBB and Nano had that "board for the banned", one of its threads was a nixon-style enemies list. I think I was #2
  10. Chart of the year. And yes, they are playing this weekend. From Small rankings moves likely for UND in bye week
  11. Ah, good old Danny's -- the trip where I did NOT meet AZSIOUX, despite sitting at a table next to him at a bar all night (BW3 maybe?)
  12. And what an odd saga the Redskins name has been over the last few days... Redskins nickname takes beating at symposium NFL.com Redskins name change demanded at Smithsonian forum Washington Post Redskins want you to know their nickname is common NFL.com We are very proud to be called Redskins redskins.com Redskins use high school athletic director to defend team name USA Today Washington Redskins proudly defend their name in the dumbest way possible deadspin.com D.C. mayor backpeddles on Redskins name change NBCSports
  13. I feel like there have been a lot of American Indian nickname stories lately... Braves reject screaming Indian logo
  14. I managed to break siouxsports' email a few days ago and didn't realize it until today. Sorry if you received a bounceback or didn't get a registration email in a timely fashion. I think everything is working now and all recent registrations have been approved.
  15. What would it take total? The thing that scares me about football is all costs are x85-100., but I'm in the happy to chip in but can't round up others group.
  16. Apparently the Caps just don't like lockouts... Caps as low as it gets, but they've been here before Record through 11 games 1995 2-7-2 2013 2-8-1 Points 1995 6 2013 5 GF 1995 20 2013 25 GA 1995 30 2013 41
  17. Five Guys was actually inspired by the fries. The guys wondered if they could take the boardwalk fries experience (specifically, Thrashers from Ocean City) and replicate it in a city burger chain. Hence the fresh cut potatoes, peanut oil, and intentional boardwalk style instead of fast food style.
  18. California. Though a few states around there, too. e.g. Vegas, Arizona. They were pretty much the first on the "fresh ingredients" burger craze, you can watch them julienne the potatoes, etc... But, they reasonably steadfastly refused to expand outside the region until Shake Shack and Five Guys started expanding. It's good enough that I used to try to stop in each time I was in the region, but unlike some comments above I've certainly never felt like I had to wait in a line longer than the average McDonalds. Never eaten at a Sonic, though the idea of an old fashioned-style drive through with roller skating carhops seems pretty awesome to me, as long as the food's tolerable. I remember going to the A&W in GF as a kid and getting the big frosty mugs. What a treat.
  19. Yep, you guys are getting a little personal. Try to avoid it, please. As to standards for moderators -- we have no problem with mods getting involved in debates (since we draw volunteers from frequent posters, no one would agree to it if they had to quit participating), they just recuse themselves from moderating that particular discussion.
  20. Usually good advice. My favorite exception is still this one, where BC is guaranteed to finish #1 or #2 if they lose, but could fall to #3 with a tie. Silly PWR.
  21. To be clear, they're definitely not going away. As practical matter, we want to emphasize the content unique to SiouxSports a little more. I think the link aggregation is quite useful myself, but we've had some problems with people thinking at first glance that the site is nothing but links to other people's stuff. So, instead of getting the whole left column the news links will probably get part of a column to the right, but there will still always be the option to click on the "news" tab/link and get the full page version.
  22. First, I always meant to try to add basketball at the same time we went D-I. Obviously I'm behind. There's definitely a redesign in the works, I'm still really hoping this summer (likely coinciding with a rebranding?) The biggest challenge to just adding the basketball scores is finding an automated source. (The hockey community is good about sharing this stuff, football I still do by hand but its easy because games are almost always Saturdays; you really can't just scrape ESPN.com, they don't like that). Ideally, there would also be some non-GF Herald content. On hockey there's a ton, including some exclusive to SiouxSports. On football, there's at least one notable blog out there, though we haven't successfully recruited anyone to write regularly about it here (though I also haven't tried in years). While the new design is definitely still going to include the news links, the now four-year-old attempt to make the front page sort of a reddit for UND sports clearly didn't take off quite like I could have imagined, so I'm definitely going to place additional emphasis on the original content and less on links to gfherald.com.
  23. Downtown Horns touts a mix of musical influence and background And then he comes home and writes articles about UND hockey.

    TV'S

Yeah, the active ones (that have a mechanical shutter that flips open and closed something like 60 times per second) are over $100. The passive ones (that just have filters that block half the image for each eye, like at the move theater) can be quite inexpensive. Opinions are very mixed on which is "better". http://lmgtfy.com/?q=is+passive+or+active+3d+better
  25. Even before his goal, the Caps announcers were effusively praising Frattin, far more than anyone else on the team. He's also the only player who I remember them mentioning his alma mater.
