Is there a certain quality one must have to be considered a dude, even in hockey? Dudeness? A Big Lebowski thing?

We were. Being old doesn’t make one wiser—certainly not smarter. But having been an adult Sioux fan over a period of time spanning 6 different head coaches does give a person perspective.

I don’t recall who covered college hockey at the Pioneer Press at that time, but I remember him writing in the lead-up to the FF that he couldn’t see anyone beating the Sioux, whether they got a lucky goal or two or not. Found a small bar in Onalaska, WI that carried the game. You’d think Badger fans would have been pulling for MSU, but that wasn’t the case. Being a fan from afar was very different in those pre-internet days. Newspaper sports sections were important.

You think east coast bias is something only humans have?

Big time. There’s a lot of very important hockey yet to be played, but starting with his commitment to stay last summer, James could be this team’s mvp. I know nothing of locker room leadership stuff, but he appears to have been an on-ice leader all season long.

Define “in good standing.”

At this point, if they can’t avoid being swept by Western, they’re not ready to succeed in the NCAAs.

They’re turtling. It’s what gopher fans and players do. 😄

Wiebe came in low, though, so a poke check would have stopped a move to the other side. I think he expected Wiebe to go 5-hole as he moved across the crease.

My thoughts as well

Also an indication of how impressive their goaltending was. Not all shots were grade A, but a lot of them were. Was frankly surprised Wiebe was able to put that one in.

For some people, demonizing is a way to strap on the armor and do the difficult thing, like firing an employee or competing in something serious with someone you know.

Butttext requires a pretty nimble butt.

And he’s been playing like that for over a month.

Those Miami slobs . . . No Sioux fan would biatch about the officiating after a loss.

Some truth to that, but think what they do with the limited talent they have (skaters) compared to BU.

Speaking of which: It still will be and should be Spunar’s net, but that goalie change by Jax was inspired. The boys had grown a little complacent thinking Spunar (and the D) would keep Miami off the board. The change gave them a dose of urgency to win by putting pucks in the net.

I like this Miami team

This is a good test that actually comes at a good time for this young team. Also, you know others teams will learn from this weekend’s game film. It all requires a top end goalie, though.
