Yeah, didn't mean that as questioning your thinking, NoDak. Just impulsive, weak humor on my part.

I was gonna say: yesterday was nice, but today's been dead. Players won't play a full 60 if the staff doesn't. Hot shot recruits and trouble in the locker room?

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

When Granato began his short tenure with a bang, recruiting wise, Bucky fans’ hopes were sky high. Gotta play the games. -
I knew when they hired Jackson that things wouldn't change much. Then going with Smaby instead of opening up for the best talent available . . . . Sigh. I guess we'll just have to enjoy the season as best we can.

Ronaldo to UND? Why It’s More Than Just a Dream

If he jumps through all those hoops and goes the college hockey route, he would almost have to go to Mankato. -
Gf is a pro; he doesn’t disclose sourcesc.

What? Rumors count for nothing?

To be completely fair, Wilbur is a known first-class jerk whom I would not want in my family, which is already full of first-class jerks who are not goalies, which is bad enough.

5th round? Long way from Chipperville. Grindah side of the tracks, I guess.

Andy’s family was from Souris.

I thought that VD was there specially for people who were stoned and needing munchies.

In early 70s, there was one on the alley across the street from the ATO house. I think it was basement. But back then everything was in caves, so . . . .

And it's almost conclusive proof that there is still a divided locker room. -
Exactly. And more evidence the discussion will become increasingly similar to major professional league discussions.

Maybe Grand Forks won't be such a change for McKamey in one sense. Cowichan Bay is gorgeous, but it's a little isolated in that it's a pretty good ferry ride away from the world that isn't Vancouver Island.

It's absolutely necessary if I'm to maintain some level of posting self confidence. -

And not having Blake or someone like him means they don't have players that defenses have to focus on, to the benefit of others on the ice with him. -
The big money schools will run into cap problems and lose players to free agency.

For me it helped that they had such a strong hockey tradition, even though they had not won a big number of natties. It didn't hurt that they had an A-1 hockey fan (and expert, really) in Puck Swami in the early years of USCHO. I recall being very happy for Swami when DU won their first title in many years. He is pure class and a good ambassador not only for Denver's fan base but for college hockey in general.

John Wayne voice: Well, Pilgrim, ya gonna get on that horse of yours and ride on over here, or are ya gonna just sit there? Boooo? -
Thanks for that reply, Wilbur.

Was the transition from more stand-up goaltending to butterfly style a prolonged one, or did the change happen fairly quickly. Were some coaches and/or goalies at the front edge of that change? Yeah, I know; nobody here will admit to being old enough to have a say. Big change, though, and it had a big impact on shooting strategies. Other than equipment, other big goaltending changes in more modern times? Have goalies always been weird? “Special” is what Wilbur would probably call it.

A lot of people here were initially very critical of Blake's lack of "situational awareness" in the neutral and O zones. He made big improvements in that regard and was much less of a defensive liability. Development.

Sure, they might be right. But unattributed hearsay has such potential for harmful conclusions based on what amounts to rumor. If the sources are leaking anyway, then they can step into the light.

Jordan Kawaguchi was a very good player for UND. He always had the skill, but there were times as late as his second year when it just looked like the game moved a little too fast for him to make plays he had the skill to make. That changed.
