It's exactly as you describe it. But it was that way when I wnet to school there in the early 90s and its hasn't gotten better or worse. It's largely the same as it ever was. I will say, however, that Aerospace and engineering are even better than the past with their UAS and Petroleum engineering growth. Business and Entreoreneurship are strong. Certain allied health programs are very good. But education and communication have really gone to pot.

Couldn't have said it better. I really really really love UND hockey. I will fight you if anyone says different (apologies to Will Ferrell). But it is true Hockey is the only program that has revered the old nickname and logo to the point that those monikers have reached an almost mythical deity-like status in the lore of the program. Sprinkle in 7 national championships, a magnificent gift from a great hard working alumnus, and an NHL pedigree that is hard to match anywhere, and you have what we have today--- thousands and thousands of people around the world who adore and follow the program and its rich history, but who could not care less about the school as an institution and its other sports because they have no other connections apArt from hockey. Now this might be a nice "problem" to have, but it's areal pain in the arse when your trying to resolve an issue that impacts all of school's sports programs.

He is a kinesiology major, or was at one time...UND has a great kinesiolology program, but I doubt that is what drew him here. Who knows? Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

I have been on the front lines of this fight for nearly 30 years. I have done and continue to do everything that you suggest. I talk one-on-one with the people that many on this site deride daily through message boards from afar. I have done my part for this University and will continue to do so until I am dead and gone -- probably from high blood pressure.

That is pathetic..... a textbook example of how the Internets proliferates misinformation at the speed of light. Wow. Just Wow! Like you said, it will be recited as gospel on here and other places for years to come.

Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences and one of the main reasons why UND is where it is in regard to global leadership on UAS development (in other words, not your typical pointy-headed Ivory Tower type prof).
