Who knows? I was wrong on the committee keeping it in the running the other day. It just seems like whenever anything like this happens and folks start sharpening their pitchforks -- whether it be on campus with faculty or in the public domain -- the Kelley administration has succumbed to those pressures.

My gut, knowing Kelley, is he will add "North Dakota" back into the mix for consideration. He very often capitulates to public opinion.

Good point. I did notice KG's tone change from diplomatic in the first meetings to exasperated by Tuesday night. Somewhere in the middle some of the "fellas" must have taken him for a ride down by the East River to let him know what was good for him -- an offer he couldn't refuse.

I'm pretty sure that the committee comprised volunteers and were not paid to do this specific work, unless you mean simply, "a public committee."

I was there in the stands that day.... and I think at the time I live posted on here that Geno was the better floor general and was impressing the hell out of me. I also think I speculated he might have his shirt pulled. In hindsight, I am glad they did not, because now we have four full years to watch him grow.

I perused through last year's Orange Bowl, where JIS played on kick-off coverage for Miss. State. He's got speed and a motor that doesn't stop. On both of his solo tackles, he busted through opposing blocks and some of his own players to beat them to the tackle. Welcome aboard!

It's exactly as you describe it. But it was that way when I wnet to school there in the early 90s and its hasn't gotten better or worse. It's largely the same as it ever was. I will say, however, that Aerospace and engineering are even better than the past with their UAS and Petroleum engineering growth. Business and Entreoreneurship are strong. Certain allied health programs are very good. But education and communication have really gone to pot.

Couldn't have said it better. I really really really love UND hockey. I will fight you if anyone says different (apologies to Will Ferrell). But it is true Hockey is the only program that has revered the old nickname and logo to the point that those monikers have reached an almost mythical deity-like status in the lore of the program. Sprinkle in 7 national championships, a magnificent gift from a great hard working alumnus, and an NHL pedigree that is hard to match anywhere, and you have what we have today--- thousands and thousands of people around the world who adore and follow the program and its rich history, but who could not care less about the school as an institution and its other sports because they have no other connections apArt from hockey. Now this might be a nice "problem" to have, but it's areal pain in the arse when your trying to resolve an issue that impacts all of school's sports programs.

FBS dropdown ... should be able to play right away if grades are there. Three years of eligibility left. Don't know the connection or reason coming here. He is a kinesiology major, or was at one time...UND has a great kinesiolology program, but I doubt that is what drew him here. Who knows? Cross your fingers and hope for the best.
