  1. Maybe diminished expectations by others makes it easier to break through in the NCAA tourney. Just don’t do it in our region. Don’t know if they would give the Big Ten another #1 seed based on the loss to Northern or not.
  2. ... and one more in the top six that hasn't arrived yet, unless Luke Hughes has since chosen to go the Major Junior route. Managing a roster that will have that frequent turnaround has got to be tough, especially if many end up being one and dones. I imagine communication on what their plans are is crucial in knowing what your roster is going to look like, but we've seen sometime the NHL teams can change their minds rather quickly.
  3. Why, didn't he support Brewster too?
  4. Let's face it, whatever they pick someone will find offense to it. Bonanza farms on Native American lands, or Theodore Roosevelt tied to Rough Riders and made disparaging remarks about Native Americans. Maybe they should just name it "The Trophy" to point out how absurd things have gotten as far as sensitivity goes.
  5. Surprised we didn't hear the "that was the worst period I can remember" refrain.
  6. ...and as Tim Hennessey says quite often, "the other team is trying too". Sometimes I think our fans are way too simplistic, thinking if a team keeps pressure on us for any extended period of time it's because we weren't trying, or our effort was lacking. If we play well for 2 periods, we only played 40 minutes, not 60. So does that mean the other team only played 20 minutes of hockey?
  7. It might not bode well in that I bet they put St. Cloud in our regional, and they would definitely be a tough out should that game come about. Would love for them to be in Loveland with Minnesota.
  8. Will be looking to see if she can make the tough decisions by dumping the dead weight this offseason. Don’t want to hear, she would have recruited different, so now is her chance to remake the roster. We’ll see.
  9. The search would likely begin if he did some good things here and started to return the team to prominence. At that point it is easier to get someone to take over a productive program as opposed to one that is floundering to the point where people think that 2 wins deserves a look. Let's remember, Brewster probably would have been happy to stay here for a long time, so I don't think ambition should be looked at as a detriment.
  10. I agree, but in the year of Covid, they haven't been able to show that they are better than half the teams that they will be up against. If we are talking a normal year, I could see a team as strong as the NCHC getting 4 or 5 teams in. If the committee is looking at it as the top 16 teams in the country, Denver should be in the conversation.
  11. ...and coming from behind. Didn’t they say UND was 1-5 when they don’t score first? Need to have that come tourney time, because you probably might find yourself in that situation.
  12. My guess is shutting down Weah is going to be goal number 1 for NDSU. Hopefully Freund has some play action up his sleeve that can thwart their focus.
  13. I think after playing a little loose against Miami at times, they wanted to get back to shutdown hockey and not giving up as many chances going into the NCAA tourney. Minus scoring, I think they played like they wanted, only giving Denver 4 shots, that weren’t high quality.
  14. A committee will be picking, so I wouldn't be so sure.
  15. Yeah, he should have not only dislodged it, he should have pushed it over to embarrass the refs in the process. Either that or Berry should have sent more guys on to the ice. I assume too many men is too many men, so why not send a handful out there. I am sure there would be some other penalty they would call like unsportsmanlike though.
  16. Some might say Bubba’s little dance makes him look like a goof, but his team loves it. Because it is UND, I suspect fans love it too.
  17. True, but maybe he needs to teach his defensemen to put the puck in the corner and cover people in front of their net. How many times has Murray gone off on rants like that? He seems to do that quite often. Maybe he is the Bo Pelini of college hockey.
  18. https://www.sbncollegehockey.com/hockey-east/2015/9/16/9342563/ntdp-goalie-adam-scheel-commits-to-notre-dame Here is the link to his commitment to Notre Dame, so I can only assume his mind was changed when St. Cyr committed. Either that, or he figured out he committed to the wrong UND!
  19. Speaking of Dylan St. Cyr, would we even have Adam Scheel without him committing to Notre Dame? Curious how that whole thing played out.
  20. Well, we did beat Omaha without Kawaguchi, Pinto, Mismash and Bast on the road in a critical game for Omaha. With NCAA tourney at stake, I would imagine it will be a battle regardless, but who knows about Denver's mental and physical fortitude with all that has gone on this year, and the season not going as expected for them.
  21. Forgot we probably have another scholarship with Miller’s departure as well.
  22. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/512370/brent-johnson This has him coming in 2022/23, which may be a good thing if we can keep Sanderson another year. We already have Bast and Morrow coming next year.
  23. How about we get Josh Doan to switch to UND as well!
  24. Yeah, with Pinto being off for two weeks, and leading the league in scoring on the line, I would have thought his name would have been heard a lot more tonight. Pretty quiet from a few guys. I know it has worked out in the past when we only have three guys killing a penalty, but Senden seems to lose that face off consistently in that situation, and puck possession is critical there. I don’t think Pinto is a huge liability in that circumstance, or Weatherby for that matter. Hopefully they don’t find themselves in that situation from here on out, because they need to win the special teams battle the rest of the way.
  25. Do we know if Boltmann will be ready for the game at Fargo?
