  1. Wonder if Ben Clymer is disturbed that Minnesota is “rubbing it in” , like he accused us of last year.
  2. I completely agree. I even recall a few times where Mismash tried stick out his leg in reaction to a guy slipping by him. I thought how lucky he is that he barely missed. It is dangerous for both parties. I'd like to think that the coaches get on players on the bench when they see episodes like that both out of concern for safety of everybody involved and just how easily a five minute major and ejection can completely change the outcome of a game, and if it happens at tournament time, a season. Even if Chrona was trying to sell it, the officials look at intent as well, and Mismash looked like he thought being pushed gave him a free pass. Let's hope Mismash isn't as casual in regards to those issues in the future. He above all people knows how it feels to miss a good portion of a season because of someone's careless action.
  3. If Chrona wasn't bracing for it, I would agree with you, but I find it hard to believe that Mismash at 6'1, 195 could send a goalie 6'6, 216 without pads spinning that out of control even though he was standing still. You see guys trying to deliver hits all of the time on guys standing still and many times they find themselves on the ground because the other guy is more solid and bracing himself. Guess Magnus might be the only one who really knows if he was trying to put one over on the officials.
  4. Once again, I ask the league to be transparent and explain why that egregious hit by Pionk doesn’t get discipline despite not being touched by anyone, yet Mismash gets supplemental punishment after getting pushed. While you’re at it, explain why Todd Anderson didn’t review Mismash getting slashed by I believe Schuldt, when he was down on the ice in pain, putting him out most of the second half of the season.
  5. We will be watching NCHC to see if you are consistent with this. If I were Brad Berry, I would send footage of Pionk plowing into Cam Johnson and find out why that was not worthy of getting booted from that game, much less a suspension after the fact. Let's not forget, that in that same game, Kotyk injured Tucker Poolman causing him to miss the NCAA tournament by drilling him into the boards from behind with no repercussions either. Of course we are in Don Adams world, where Robbie Bina's injury didn't deserve a major.
  6. https://www.muskegonlumberjacks.com/news_article/show/1141281 Portz traded for Pitlick. Sounds like Portz is quite the team guy.
  7. The reason the no-show on Sunday was so frustrating to me is because of games on the road like last night where you can get railroaded by bad or borderline calls and not get reciprocal calls. You can play at the top of your game and still have trouble winning because of that. How many times are you going to kill off a 5 minute major and a 5 on 3, much less in the same time period? So thankful they fought through all of that.
  8. First goal early was huge, as it put Denver on their heels and took the wind out of their sails right away. No surprise that the person that filled the Cole Smith character role was Senden. Doesn’t have the size, but really sticks his nose in there. Good call by the coaches to put that line out first to set the tempo.
  9. I said last night tonight would show a lot about this team, and they passed with flying colors. Need to stay out of the box, but the way they killed them off was impressive.
  10. In normal years UND has games like this once or twice a season. When you had to sit out a few months at the beginning of the season, and knowing that the schedule might be uneven and no guarantees how many games you are going to get, i was hoping a game like last night wouldn’t be an issue. Keep it at one game and go forward from it and maybe it is something they can point to when/if post season starts.
  11. Don't feel that great about tonight with Schlossman focusing on how long it has been since UND lost back to back games.
  12. So by not coming out playing with passion, they have given Denver confidence, and might have taken away some of Scheel’s swag. Hopefully Scheel picks it back up right away instead of like last year.
  13. Does anyone believe we will have 4 more power plays than Denver tomorrow when the outcome isn’t in doubt?
  14. Don’t necessarily agree with Berry changing lines, as it wasn’t chemistry that was a problem, it was playing with passion, and that was a problem with everyone, not just a few.
  15. I could tell five minutes in that UND didn’t come out with purpose. You have a chance to bury a team you claim to despise, and that is how you come out! A guy like Cole Smith would show a little desperation, but not seeing it. Hope this team doesn’t have to feel like it has something to prove to perform, because that is not a good formula in a one and done. Provided they don’t come back tonight, tomorrow will say a lot about this team.
  16. Kind of surprised that both Red River and Central put the hurt on EGF, 6-1 and 7-4 respectively. Braden Panzer outdueled Jaksen Panzer in the process.
  17. Don’t know, but they should try poach some businesses from California who are fed up with the business climate. I would try Minnesota as well.
  18. I believe he was. IIRC he decided he would walk on at the school who lost in the Championship game. That is the year we lost to Minnesota.
  19. Wonder how many college teams have had numerous walk-ons make it to the NHL. Phil Sykes, Matt Henderson, Jay Caulfield, and Cole Smith. Any that I am missing? I know Caulfield had a football scholarship and was injured, but don’t think he had hockey scholarship.
  20. Don’t think Magnuson played defense. Glen Fester maybe.
  21. That goes both ways though. I agree in concept, as it would cause schools to evaluate more before making an offer, but how many guys would UND have been stuck with if the commitment was binding? Charlie Pelnik, Luke Beaverson, Michael Fink, Danny Mattson, Christian Cakebread, Luke Voltin, Jack Rowe to only name a few. If some of those names are unfamiliar, it shows they didn't do much after they parted ways. I see now that you were talking commitments, not verbals, but it definitely goes both ways.
  22. I perceived the discussion to be more about guys that UND decided to part with as recruits, even though we aren't positive that is what happened with Halliday and Rizzo. We didn't decide to part with Miller, he decided to play Major Junior instead.
  23. They are trying to make up some of the Champions Club membership that they lost out on. When you figure some of those membership levels in on the average ticket, I imagine it would increase the ticket price a bit.
  24. CC beat Duluth having fewer games under their belts, why does UND have to feel bad for sweeping a series after coming off a month without a game?
  25. Are we sure this wasn’t initiated by UND? Wonder the same thing about Halliday. It would be interesting to know what went on behind the scenes in both cases.
