How many people think that Bubba will be proactive taking advantage of these changes? My bet is that every other college will be on top of this change, and that Bubba will start reacting after all the programs are taking advantage of it, that is if he can do it between naps.

Any smart coach knows that developing depth is a huge factor in whether you are going to be a championship caliber football team. As such, you take every opportunity you can to develop that depth. It is either a complete fail in not doing so, or if the players are so bad that they don't even dare put them on the field, then it is a bigger failure in recruiting in that you don't even have guys to develop.

Regardless of what people think of Romfo, it is absolute malpractice to not get your other younger quarterbacks any playing time, especially when there was plenty of opportunity. Sleeping in team meetings and not getting others playing time are reasons for termination, especially when the team absolutely collapses. This team definitely took on the personality of their coach -- insecure and uninspiring.
-
The nice thing for Bubba is that he can now nap the whole offseason, because there is no reason for him to put in any more effort recruiting. If you are lazy in team meetings, you are lazy on the recruiting trail too. It shows by the lack of difference makers he has recruited, even with the improved facilities.

Not happy at all with the lack of postseason success, but that is a far cry from “underachieving like no other”. My problem is that the teams we have major problems with are teams that are hard to play against. I would argue that we are getting soft and aren’t able to fight through the adversity. It seems we are becoming more of the gophers of old and win when our power play propels us. If we get behind, or need to win the five on five battle, we aren’t near as dominant as we used to be. That needs to change fast, but unfortunately three of the guys that are tough to play against and give us the grit, in Berg, Jammer, and Zmolek are sidelined.

Not sure I want TJ Semptimphelter starting at quarterback and Simon Romfo starting in goal for the football and hockey teams respectively.
-
Pure hyperbole! A team that has won the hardest conference in college hockey consistently is underachieving like no other? Yes, they need to take the next step now, but your credibility is suspect on a ludicrous statement like that.
-
So, then the NHL teams that drafted these guys should feel like idiots, because they can’t even do the basics, so why would you draft them?

You realize RMU beat Miami 4-1 & 5-1.
-
So I assume he was saying it was a "buy" series then, because a bye series would suggest he thinks it will be easy, and that doesn't sound like something Schlossman would think, especially since they swept Miami and UND has found ways to lose to them on occasion.

It is kind of a buzzkill for the weekend. When you are talking 225 bucks for the event, I am thinking if you want a friends trip, pay that money and golf Bandon Dunes or some destination golf course and then, other than some bad golf, you don't have something to drag down your friends trip. Kind of a pessimistic look at things, but I just remember the last few have had that buzzkill that made the trip home less than enjoyable.

What were ticket prices to the Arizona State game at T-Mobile? I do like that they put down which end UND shoots twice at.

The whole day by day philosophy would mean you are continually getting better, stronger, more resilient, which would mean at some point you could win on the road. The last two years we played decent early, then imploded the rest of the year, which is the exact opposite of the day by day mantra. South Dakota seems to be the team that is building like SDSU and looking more the part physically of a program building day by day. We don’t even look like a team that is building and looking the part of a physically dominant team with dependable depth that looks the part as well. I will say that the day by day philosophy is pertinent to the resources we our giving the program to be able to compete, and as far as I know that should put us above South Dakota. Bubba has had ample time to build with the increased resources given to him. With the next phases of the facilities coming on board, it is time to give someone else an earlier start to building the program into something that is going forward rather than staying stagnant and spinning our wheels. If either of them care about the state of the program, Chaves and Bubba need to do the right thing for the sake of the program.
-
You know that, I know that, but people that aren’t sports minded don’t get that, which is why Chaves gives out contract extensions.
-
Apparently the guys don’t want to see the griddy enough.
-
Bubba’s postgame, how proud he is the guys didn’t quit.
-
It’s almost like Bubba is doing it as a middle finger to the fans. In my eyes Bubba has no legacy at UND, and as such should have no position waiting for him when this debacle finally ends.

2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Actually, I think we are unlucky to have those games at home while we are having injury issues. I would rather we have the ability to make up ground if we need to later in the season by having those higher ranked teams at home. I share your concerns that we may drop a game or two to those teams we need to be beating. My concern is that we haven't taken advantage of the regionals we host and that if we do drop some of those games we will be behind the eight ball again in that regard. Not getting to regionals is one thing, but then when you do get there not even making a dent is a combination they definitely need to break. -

Before the season, I would say that Berg and Zmolek were two of the key guys on the team, and ones we could ill afford to lose for any extended length of time. We seem to have bad luck in losing guys like Sanderson and Pyke at the wrong time. Like I said before, hopefully we can keep our head above water and we get those guys back at the right time to make a run. -
That would be fine, but you still need to find the right person. Everyone was so enamored by Hastings, but he hasn't exactly been ripping it up at Wisconsin, even getting some nice recruits. I certainly like Raboin at Augustana, but there is no guarantee that when you get more talent to work with that you are automatically going to succeed. There were many that thought the grass was greener on the other side of Dave Hakstol, now they seem to have brain fog and forget how brutal they were about him during his regime.

Looks like we might be looking just to keep our heads above water until after Christmas. Need to keep getting contributions from guys like Montgomery, whether that be at defense or forward. -
Nice to see Schultz pick it up after having 1 point in his first nine games. He seems to have found his stride.

Makes sense, so start it up again by mentioning it, instead of just letting it be with Sicatoka’s admonishment.
