You’re right, the writing is on the wall, and for many it means turning to professional sports more. You’ll just be watching better versions of professionals.

But once that home dominance was broken, they completely fell off the face of the earth. -

I love that he talked about player confidence, because I think that is a huge thing. In our football and hockey programs, all too often I don't see that swagger that you need in a Championship caliber team, in fact I would say many times the body language is the complete opposite, which may be why we went on an o'fer to end the season. -

What's next, another tournament for those that don't make the NIT either? One champion, pure and simple, no consolation prizes. -
Is Zmolek the new Jake Sanderson? We can’t seem to keep the defensemen that are the most crucial for our success in the lineup.

I keep thinking the same thing, along with a Will Ratelle. I would think recruiting to division 1 would give us those types of players a little more frequently. Need to step it up and find some difference makers that the other elite FCS schools seem to rinse and repeat with. -
Guys want to win, and play in big games. We haven't been able to offer that to the high end guys for a while.

If I were him, I would have one last Zoom meeting from the beach in San Diego, because there is a harsh cold winter in front of him. -
Well, most of us on this board never learn either, so it is par for the course. How many times do fans go off in the first half, quarter, or period about how horrible everything is, only to have the game turnaround and have to change their tune? Then the very next game or so, they still don't let it play itself out.

Are you saying there is a gambling problem in the coaching staff? (Mafia spelling alert)
-
No doubt, but having an opportunity to be the head coach of your Alma Mater doesn't come along too often. Will be interested to see his progression, and where his first head coaching job will come.
-
You've got to believe whether that would have been the case or not, that it has got to be on his mind these days.

Just curious for those in the know, are these all common practices at the other Dakota schools. It seems to me like all of these things seem like they should be a given for any program wishing to be top tier. I would hope that every year staffs are in touch with FBS schools, or at least are monitoring best practices of those programs that are very successful. At the least we should be trying to mimic everything NDSU and SDSU are doing year in and year out.

Maybe this was part of the Flight 19 mystery inside the Bermuda Triangle that extends to the Great Lakes triangle! Were there 5 airplanes flying in a formation?

This is one thing I am hoping will be the big change is the personality of an aggressive ex player that showed that kind of emotion. Who knows if it will work out, but I'm willing to give the guy a chance to show what he can do. It's just disappointing that we aren't a few years into a new regime, as now we still have to wait until the new coach gets his recruits in place, although hopefully the portal can push that forward a bit, especially this year. Hopefully he has some guys in mind from his time at the other places.
-
Getting it done is what they need from here on out. Doesn’t matter how pretty, but they need to figure out a way to string together wins and hopefully get healthy at some point.
-
I hope they have a good base salary but with incremental incentives based on how the program develops as the new coach is able to implement their plans/players.

Which confirms his point that Miami is the only bottom dweller to really feast on, and that the NCHC is a gauntlet because 9 of Miami’s 10 wins in the last few years are non conference foes, playing far less of those games. -
Let’s not forget we were behind Miami last year 4-2 after 2, and we ended up winning 5-4 in overtime. If they want it to be a turning point, they need to build on it and realize the consistent focus it takes, even against bad teams. The importance of Boisvert giving us the regulation win could have significance down the road if they do build from this point forward.

We’re ahead of Denver in the league standings. Try process that weirdness.

Hoping tonight’s comeback can be a tipping point in the positive direction. Need to finish off the sweep and finish out well before Christmas, then get healthy and play with swagger the second half. -
If you are a Miami fan, how many times can you watch this happen before you just can’t watch anymore?

Even under Hakstol they didn't always get it done, but the whole idea is showing up with a purpose and a focused mentality. Agree, that under Berry it is almost like "oh boy, we get to wear the black jerseys tonight", and many times the focused approach you saw consistently before is an afterthought. -

You don't hear Schlossman giving the record with the business suits on much anymore, do you? I would love to know the record in business suits under Hakstol and under Berry. My bet is that there would be a big disparity.
