  1. But if you go by stats when looking at them in the junior leagues, like everyone seems to do, Hoff had better stats then Benson. Of course if they would have taken Benson and he didn’t pan out everyone would be questioning them like they are for many current recruits that aren’t putting up points. I don’t know many programs that would have offered Benson his Junior year in high school like St. Cloud did. You win some of those, and you lose some.
  2. Wasn’t Peski the one who was nowhere to be found on Poehling’s breakaway goal?
  3. Would be interesting to see where a win last night or tonight would have put us in the pairwise.
  4. So you must be expecting us to lose, but what if Western beats CC and Omaha loses to Duluth?
  5. The sad part is they may be killing the Golden Goose with their performance, as I’m sure less people will want to buy Regional tickets up front which will inevitably show in how much they dare bid in the future.
  6. It’s not the scoreboard, it’s the process is synonymous with getting your butts kicked.
  7. No, but I do not understand the fascination with him. They spend that whole shift in the zone chasing people, or just standing watching which led to the penalty. Never mind giving them a 4 on 4 earlier which led to their go ahead goal, instead of us having a full five. Then he gets put out on the penalty kill and because of his lack of speed, can’t clear a puck that most people would have gotten to. You can’t be aggressive with him on the ice. When he is the answer on the penalty kill and power play, you know you have problems. It’s like Berry wants to be their friend instead of instilling discipline. Better take down that “Speed kills” sign in the locker room if they haven’t already.
  8. I wonder how Jimmy Kimmel has gone unscathed with the "Me Too" movement and all the ramifications from it and his previous show "The Man Show" and it's blatant objectification of women. I think I can figure it out though.
  9. I'm not sure if it is as high risk anymore, as everyone seems to be recruiting them but not always following through if they don't develop, and the players don't seem too concerned about going back on a verbal commitment either. Most of the time schools know early on if the player didn't pan out or decided to go to Major Junior, so they have time to replace them.
  10. They might just be more apt to recruit young, despite them foregoing the Gentlemen's agreement, which seems to go against their argument. I know UND had their hand forced on a couple of occasions by Big Ten teams on local recruits because offers were either made or imminent.
  11. It's the same ribbon board since the opening of the Ralph, but don't let facts stand in your rants.
  12. Didn't Schlossman say next on the update list is the video board wrapping the lower bowl?
  13. May be able to play somewhere, but I would guess he would have to prove it in Junior hockey for a year or two. His save % with Central could be attributed to the way they play defense. His 94% and Bradbury's 92% aren't that far apart when you consider the defense on both teams.
  14. Guys making an impact in their 2nd or 3rd years occurs much more often than their freshman year. We need to hope that is the case on a few players. Would also help to get a few unexpected surprises from the freshmen class next year. Would be nice if there were an impact player that has eligibility left that graduated from another school that could transfer without sitting a year to fill in a recruiting gap, but that doesn't always work out how you think either. Wisconsin can attest to that.
  15. Long term, yes, but it is a crap shoot on a lot of these guys as to when and if they are able to make an impact at the college level. Most people had Kawaguchi, Adams and Mismash as bigger impacts this year for UND than Jones, based on production in their leagues. Sometimes it will surprise you who makes an impact. I believe St. Cloud has had a few pleasant surprises this year.
  16. Have you watched all of these guys extensively, or did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night?
  17. Maybe Jacobs and the Herald can use all the proceeds from their patented phrase "Hell or High Water" and pay for the reinstatement of women's hockey.
  18. Actually, if other nations other than the U.S. or Canada don't start getting better, I can see the Olympics dropping women's hockey.
  19. You expected something with reason from Mike Jacobs?
  20. I was thinking the same thing, but the more I think about it, if I were St. Cloud, I would look to put UND down for the count so they don't have to think about playing us in a regional in Sioux Falls.
  21. Do we even think Bast has a chance to come back this year? If not, I say we carry an extra defenseman on the roster, as he hasn’t put together a full season in 3 or 4 years. Can’t count on someone that injury prone.
  22. Wow, obsessed with UND much? Your own President said he didn’t want to be in the league.
  23. If we hold on to home ice, we basically control our pairwise destiny by either beating Western or Omaha, because I’m assuming neither team will beat Duluth enough to pass them.
  24. Yeah, and just as I was typing that, Denver tied it. Go figure.
  25. Yeah, it’s tough to know. I, like Berry, thought we were in great position at Christmas because with all the young guys, I thought we would get so much better. The second half schedule Berry was so pleased about has been a huge disappointment. Maybe our only saving grace is that St.Cloud might not have anything but pairwise seeding to play for next weekend, but that didn’t seem to help us tonight. With Berry’s lack of anger in the postgame, I now wonder if a lot of his “I love this team” and this team fights for each other is just coach speak and he kind of thinks splits are about what to expect. Anyone have any inside info on how this team gets along, as I have heard conflicting rumors. At 14 in the pairwise and playing St. Cloud next week, I still hold out hope that Bast comes back and helps us get consistent power play and penalty kills from here on out.
