  1. I was hoping it was Herter, so gfhockey could go 5 for 5 in his hypocrisy, vouching for guys that he later is advocating to fire, I mean ask the difficult questions about.
  2. I think Swanson figures it out next year too. Better utilization of his skills will help. He certainly could distribute to Zellers. Possibly the last two USHL Player’s of the Year on the same line. I could see both Boisvert and Livanavage in the discussion for the Hobey next year if they stay.
  3. That, and I am thinking we have plenty of talent should they get everyone to stay, combined with the factors you mention, and a re-energized fanbase and we could rebound. I hardly think the cupboard is bare when you could be starting with possibly the last 2 USHL Player’s of the year, the best returning forward in the league, if Bump leaves, and the best returning defenseman, when Buium signs. Another year under the belt for a young defense, and hopefully a healthy return of Zmolek, could do wonders. McLaughlin and Perron would need to step it up, but if you could get a potential high first round pick like Carter Bear in the lineup with his motor, it might be example for the rest. Who knows if they could also add another impact player from the portal or Major Juniors. Plenty there for a new coach to work with if he can convince people to stick around and infuse a new excitement and culture.
  4. Horses aren’t horses sometimes, until they become the horses. Would people have called Bump the horse of the league a year ago? What about Frattin, Malone, & Caggiula?
  5. No, Omaha players aren’t going to pick it!
  6. Wish someone would tell Armacost that!
  7. I would like to know what the coach thinks should be the yearly expectation of the program and what needs to be done to reinvigorate the fan base. My expectation is making the tournament, some Frozen Four runs, and perhaps a championship thrown in every 6-7 years. Basically having UND getting national exposure again, and bringing back the actual culture that made the program and instead of lamenting bad luck, cling to Ralph’s adage, “The harder I work, the luckier I get!”
  8. How would we feel about Mannino? CC has had difficulty scoring goals as well, but they have had some nice recruits. Wonder if he would be an assistant.
  9. So if they challenged both, and both were wrong, they would have lost their timeout and get a penalty, correct? If you challenge both I wonder if the refs look at it like you are throwing something at the wall hoping to make it stick, which may work to their disadvantage.
  10. They did challenge for offsides on one of Penn State’s goals. It looked like a better challenge would have been for goalie interference on that goal.
  11. Cooper Simpson with the only goal of the game, the overtime winner for Tri City. Carson Pilgrim doesn’t seem to be putting up numbers lately. Don’t know if he was injured, but was out of the lineup a few times, so maybe his ice time has been reduced.
  12. Hate to state the obvious, but the run you talk about hasn’t happened which is the reason for the change, something that is met with only excuses of injuries, etc., like no team can overcome adversity.
  13. Too bad we aren’t able to take advantage of the type of atmosphere at Allentown, at our regionals at Scheels.
  14. Oh, I don’t know, maybe a lot of the reasons people on this site have given for thinking a change was in order. Giving only the positive stats and ignoring the others doesn’t give a complete picture, and I thought being a journalist was to give both sides of issues and let the readers decide for themselves.
  15. Did I say that? Just saying don’t be incredulous about the firing if that was going on and was known.
  16. Then if this dust up with Jackson is true beyond the Jamernik issue, why is Schlossman making it all about Berry’s record? Of course the record alone in the playoffs should be reason enough for a top tier program.
  17. Is Schlossman completely out of the loop on everything? He always seems to be playing catch up on a lot of the behind the scenes stuff. Not saying he should repeat it, but if this stuff is true it wouldn’t be all about the wins, losses narrative he is pushing.
  18. With no league wins, don't know we could ask any more from Miami than the 3 non conference wins.
  19. How else would you propose to measure leagues against each other. Fine don't use non-conference records, then we can have a tournament with all leagues like the CCHA and Atlantic hockey who have good records in conference play.
  20. I don't think Berry himself would agree with your logic. Win the games you are supposed to. Since UND hasn't won a tournament game in forever, does that mean the pairwise was wrong to have them in the tournament?
  21. The bottom line is that the league has to win the non conference games, and they didn't do that. It is that simple. Our best team, Western, split with Michigan, and lost to Michigan State and Boston College, nevermind the rest of our league not taking care of their business in non conference.
  22. I have no problem with his call on the play, but I would love to know if he has backtracked since. If he is still sticking to the outrage after watching the replays, then he probably would have complained about the outcome regardless of that play.
  23. If it isn't a rule, it will be brought up in the next rules session. About time that Minnesota has to be at the forefront of some rule change brought about because of some grey area resulting in a loss in the National Tournament.
  24. I think most of us thought it was a bad no call when it happened, but to not be able to look at that and come to the conclusion that it wasn't as cut and dried as first thought is insane. A gopher fan at work at least admits on replay it wasn't something that should be called in overtime. So if they call it and Minnesota scores, then you definitely have a reason to be mad if you are UMass. At the very least, if the guy did touch him, you have to question if it was a dive, because it couldn't have been much contact, and diving if you are a defenseman making a rush is always a calculated risk, especially in overtime.
  25. You always say stuff like that, like it is fact. Remember we were going to go 3-9 the last 12 of the regular season, never mind your individual game predictions where you thought it was going to be ugly. UND wasn't good, we get that, but they did beat some good teams down the stretch with some guys out of the lineup.
