I think the coaches don’t want to make decisions on one position based on how the rest of the team is playing sometimes. If it was the second half of the year, that might change. Slukynsky has been not great lately, but part of that is the way the team has played in front of him. Do you punish him, when it is a team thing?
-
Agree, but if you look at the goals against Duluth, a lot of those were almost impossible. Even last night, there were times Spunar was way out of the net on several occasions, but the difference was that the other team didn’t have the puck to put into the net. Probably would just stick with Spunar though, as the players have played well in front of him. After losing to NDSU in football, I hope this isn’t an all around crappy day, that often seems to be the case.

Need to figure that out, but Schmidt still doesn’t have a full recruiting class under him. Once they figure this out, we hopefully will be consistently on track for home playoff games. We figured out how to win on the road, now need the confidence factor in close games.

But haven’t we heard in the past so many times about good losses from the committee?
-
I am shocked that Fruechte has no qualms about running against a stacked line with the same play two times in a row to get one yard on fourth down plays, but won’t run once at the two yard line on 4 plays. Bizarre!

When we had the chance to go up 14-3, and the Bison guy ripped the receiver by the shoulder at the goal line. We should have never passed it, but you don’t miss that when the ball was right there for the receiver.
-
Wasn’t there a time they took an under .500 team from the Missouri Valley when we were in the Big Sky?
-
Should have never come to that call. It was clear as day to 12000 people and a tv audience that you can’t just grab a jersey to prevent a touchdown. That call had, “we are not going to call two straight pass interference calls against NDSU under any circumstance”. Gutless officiating!
-
The offensive coordinator crapped the bed.
-
I would say Jerry needs to figure out how to grow into having the “it” factor.
-
Freuchte should apologize to the team. Yes, NDSU grabbed the jersey for interference for us to go up 14-3, but you run the ball at least a couple times.
-
Funny how we go back to something that worked on one play one time when you absolutely need it, but won’t do it when we have three times toget it done.
-
NDSU didn’t become a dominant program by getting cute in the red zone, they became dominant by imposing their will on their opponent. How about we become a dominant program and do the same, and tell your O-Line they are going to shove it down their throat because they can!

Isaac saw the huge hole that Seidel went through on the first touchdown and decided it didn’t show enough imagination to further his career, so he opted for something else. Guess what Isaac, nobody wants a coordinator that turns points into nothing!

Was that a block in the back?
-
That’s the biggest problem, not that it happened, but he never has learned from his stupidity.

Time and again, just head scratching calls. Talk about no confidence in the moving company.
-
On GPL they said that a former high school and college player was suspected in the assault on Teddy Townsend. Anyone hear who that was?
-
Also nice they fought through some adversity with the major. Could have really turned the game if they score on that.
-
Arizona State announcers question an obvious penalty, showing they are absolutely clueless.
-
Yeah, would rather consistently score a power play goal or two every game, rather than 0fer in a bunch of games then go wild in one.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Yeah, he is doing good things, so hopefully he and Kernan can get their first goals so they don’t have to think about it, and can just let the offense come to them. -
Just the extra experience with being about 1 year older across their whole roster than us is an equalizer, then you add in their goaltending, and it is going to be a tough weekend like usual.

I would think Bob has to somehow find a way to at least keep the team from becoming apathetic and giving up. With a young team, if they aren’t at least improving, that makes it more difficult to rebound the next year if those young guys aren’t at least developing. Then you need guys to commit to staying, when it has become all too easy to search for greener pastures. We saw with UND that the vultures from other teams are getting into players ears trying to get them to bolt. Thankfully, other than Boisvert, the guys UND lost were addition by subtraction, but if Dylan James and Livanavage wouldn’t have stayed it could have been a mass exodus. Do guys like Mooney, Ziemer, Ludtke, etc, commit to stay or bolt to Michigan State like a lot of National team, among other players have? This kind of adversity tells a lot about the coach and even more so about the players. Will be interesting to see what happens from here on out.

It wouldn’t be so bad if that hadn’t happened other times where they could have run clock and paid for it by allowing the other team time for the comeback. They were most likely to be up by two scores, whether it be a touchdown or field goal, so might as well run clock.
