  1. So prior incidents should be taken into account for suspensions/dismissals?
  2. I'm torn on playing time for Thursday. On one hand, Bartels earned the job and I would like to see him get some game time to develop rhythm with the offense. On the other hand I would like to see Molberg get equal reps and run a different type of offense to get something else on tape for SDSU to prepare for. A coach like Stig has seen everything but forcing their defense to prepare for two different types of QBs can only help us the following week.

    UND vs Valpo

UND- 62 Valpo- 10 I want to see the offense have no turnovers and play a clean football game. Have to control the ball this year. On defense I want to see us get pressure only sending 4 guys and create some turnovers. Coach Kotelnicki has said that has been the focus since spring and it needs to start on Thursday night. I don't remember any turnovers last season against SD Mines and that carried out throughout the season. Also, the tackling this week will hopefully be improved from what we saw last year. Special teams- A couple blocked kicks. Attendance 9800 (1,000 more than last years season opener) My attendance prediction for the game will be
  4. Your women's programs are certainly something to brag about. Our last place teams in the big sky are still much better than yours, minus softball. Add to that a women's swimming team in a new conference and a national tournament hockey team and you can have you middle of the road summit league women's programs.
  5. We return an All American and a freshman All American and neither of those two may be the most talented WR on the team. Like someone mentioned above its hard to compare across conferences but to me, our group has proven themselves on the field.
  6. UND volleyball has been better than FU for a couple years now. Our basketball team isn't great but is much, much better than FU right now. I don't know if I'd hang my hat on a new facility. All the money at FU right now is being pumped into football and men's hoops right now. It will take years for the women's programs to get back on track.
  7. Its been a couple seasons since we have had only one QB take meaningful snaps during a season. I feel its a little premature to talk about transferring already. All eyes have been focusing on the QB battle all last spring and this fall. One thing that has impressed me over that time is the maturity of both guys. Both were pretty passionate about running the offense and making themselves better, which made the other better. I'm confident in both going into the season.
  8. You must be delivering a lot with the students moving back to town. It's nice if you to follow up with you customers. At least they teach you FU grads that.
  9. Thursday 8/29 Southern Utah @ S. Alabama Valparaiso @ North Dakota Monmouth @ Montana State Sac State @ San Jose State E. Oregon @ Portland St Friday 8/30 NAU @ Arizona Saturday 8/31 UC Davis @ South Dakota Langston @ Northern Colorado Eastern Washington @ Oregon St. San Diego at Cal Poly SFA @ Weber Stat App St. @ Montana Same as most above except I'll take EWU with the upset and Montana over App St. at home.
  10. Didn't Bohl say suspensions are only needed if it involved alcohol, fighting or drugs? Hasn't the kid suffered enough?
  11. I agree with the post above. Hardin dropped way to many easy ones last year. Hard for scouts to overlook that if it doesn't improve.
  12. Offense: Dustin Adams- (OL needs to be better this year) AJ Stockwell- (Coaches have him as a TE right now for a reason and position is wide open) Defense: Taj Rich/Dayo Idowu- (our OLBs really underperformed last season. They didn't look athletic enough to play at this level. I think both these guys have the chance to get some reps this year) Rumeal Harris- (Kid has the size we need at CB and it is a position that is wide open for reps) Javen Butler- (hoping the ability he has when we signed him shows up on the field this year, we need improved play there this year) Special Teams: Casey Young- (taking over long snapping duties)
  13. Good one

    2014 Recruiting

    Thank you Travis.

    2013 season

Not sure if anyone saw but Danny Freund is coaching at the Manning Passing Academy right now. Congrats Danny on the great experience. Our young coaching staff has had some great experiences in the past couple year. Freund with this opportunity, Kotelnicki participated in the NCAA-NFL Coaching Academy in February and Benny Boyd working with the Pittsburgh Steelers a couple years ago with the Bill Walsh NFL Coaching Program. I am always impressed with the opportunities these young coaches get.
  16. Is there a bad one to pick from. No D2's on there so what is there to complain about. Its tough to choose between SDSU, UM, MSU or EW they all present a unique challenge. Also, Valpo will be our first look at the team and our freshmen QB's so I am excited about that. Its a great home schedule.
  17. Dan you spend more time trying to run down UND sports than you do posting about FU sports.
  18. This is a great addition by Jones. This guy has legit D1 experience and more importantly knows how to recruit/coach at this level. Even if he stays for two or three years, he is going to open some connections we didn't have before. Nice job Coach Jones and welcome Coach Shay.

    2013 season

This, injuries happen. Any team would be affected with an injury to their best player.
  20. Dan, you need to explain to your president that if you intend to save an e-mail you don't put it in the trash folder. Maybe the IT at FU can come up with some big pictures or something he can tape to his computer so he better understands how things work.
  21. You seem thrilled about this game Dan. Excited for those first two home games of DII and Deleware St?
  22. Haha, classic post. So scheduling a D2 is now acceptable Dan? I think MSU screwed FU over with the late cancellation but Dan's post above can only be rivaled the the guy on BVille who said the NCAA changed the D2 counter rule specifically for FU. It must be fun in the world some of those guys live in.
  23. What strike is this for Beck? You would have thought he would have learned his lesson when he got punished for running from the law last time. Those extra wind sprints after practice must not have been enough.
  24. Haven't these guys suffered enough??? Oh wait, they aren't part of the team anymore....nevermind.
  25. It will be a challenge but its going to be an exciting non conference match up with a chance to turn some heads. We know what their offensive philosophy is going to be. Our offense could also help our defense out tremendously by scoring points. If we get behind, with a defense needing improvement and a young QB under center, it could be a long game. The SDSU, Montana and Montana St. stretch of home games is going to be fun.
