  1. Compared to FCS and the Summit league. Yes you do. Can FU afford to pay Bohl $240,000 and pay Phillips $250,000? Would FU be willing to pay men's basketball coach more than the football coach? Also, the salaries of women's bball and volleyball would probably have to be raised as well.
  2. The ability to pay their men's basketball coach $500,000/year. People seem to be overlooking that FU's coaching salaries would need to go way up to fit in that conference. Saul Phillips salary would have to double just to be in the conversation with the lowest paid coach. Drake pays their coach 7 figures. Were is that money going to come from? buttfootball
  3. And at the end of the day both are one bid leagues.
  4. New stadium with a basketball program to throw all their money at. Past history won't matter. Hockey can fend for itself. You could say the same thing about them adding a team 200 miles north of Brookings out of their conference footprint.

That is some pretty good talent. Hopefully those guys get everything straightened out. Thanks for the update.
  6. Started FU fans? FU will not be a direct replacement for Creighton. It will take a lot of realignment before that happens.
  7. But what are the options they have? That travel distance you mentioned is going to always be a big factor for FU.
  8. The Summit has always been a revolving door conference. This should surprise no one.
  9. What are those conferences again? Why hasn't FU left for them yet?
  10. South Dakota schools are not going to split up. The state of SD held back signing into the Big Sky in hopes of getting them into a conference and reunited with USD. I honestly think the SD schools would drop FU in a heartbeat if the opportunity came for another conference. I also feel the Big Sky would accept FU if they were truely interested in joining. They would be a good add and I would love to serve up the crow. I do not expect any team to get into the Big Sky without a huge buyout tied to it. If UMKC truely leaves, this is going to be interesting. Do they know something the other schools don't? Why leave for the WAC? Look at that conference. There could be a reason they are taking an offer to get out of the Summit. Get your popcorn ready. This could get good.

What ever the situation, it will get sorted out. Its pretty obvious the kid is a very talented football player and whether its at UND or elsewhere, best of luck to him.

    2013 Recruiting

Congrats to all the guys who signed their letters yesterday. Welcome to UND. Great article in the Herald. http://www.grandfork...icle/id/255890/ I like the part of Mussman talking about Dustin Iverson and that 9 kids out of the 12 that visited the same weekend as him committed and the role he played.

Cheatom's tape is pretty fun to watch for a NG. It is hard to believe that kid is 300 lbs. when you watch the video. I really think we got a steal with that one.

I don't think it matters where we get the kids as long as they are at the right level of talent.
  15. Some of that traffic is going to stay at those new hotels. I don't see parking at the Alerus being a problem. Only way it becomes one is if tailgating continues to grow and they expand that area.
  16. This I can agree with.
  17. I would have too but injuries and inconsistent play killed our first quarter of the season. The non televised games seem to be very regionalized so it did not surprise me. I guess I didn't feel it was a joke. I kind of expected it.
  18. Who did you want to play? Do you feel we deserved a better or worse opponent?

    2013 Recruiting

Great news on Norberg. II'm going to assume its him, Dexter Bell (post #1462 of this thread) and Disterhaupt as LB recruits, even though Bell hasn't been officially confirmed. One more LB commitment possibly?

    2013 Season

We need to keep marketing this schedule over and over during the coming months in all corners of the state. I forgot how good the schedule was until I just read this release. Our first 4 games are going to be entertaining and will tell us a lot about where the season is going to go. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=206257161

    2013 Recruiting

Hopefully the tweet from Hammer means Norberg called today and solidified his commitment. I like the added coverage Hammer has given recruiting this year. The SFI guys do a fantastic job and now you add Hammer digging up some info as well on Reyes, Carr, Stockwell and now possibly Norberg.

    2013 Recruiting

Besides Norberg and possibly the TE that was speculated on being in town this weekend, I don't think any. I think its now a dead period in recruiting so the only contact we can have with a recruit is if they call. Not too much recruiting left to be done.

    2013 Recruiting

I don't know for sure but I would guess the of the 15 on campus this week is mostly guys who may get a last minute scholorship offer if someone (Norberg) decommits at the last minute with an FBS offer. You may also have some PWO type kids and maybe a few guys who haven't made up their mind on a school and we were able to get them on campus and will see what happens. Either way, the coaches sound pretty confident that they are done so hopefully that means no big surprises on Wednesday besides finding out a few unknown names.

    2013 Recruiting

Sharp and Gray were pretty similar backs so losing Gray wouldn't bother me as much as losing one of our recruits at another position. Looking forward to Wednesday to find out what other surprises there are. There are some verbals we don't know about. I remember watching Kenny Golloday's highlights last year on signing day and being very impressed. He definatley didn't disappoint this year. Hopefully we have another one or two of those guys in addition to who we already know about. Hoping the DE from Wisconsin and Gray are the only two verbals we don't see sign on Wednesday.
  25. When they went 3 for 3 on three pointers in their first few possessions of the 2nd half that obviously really hurt us. It got us out of our zone in a hurry. Schuler being matched up with Otis down low when we were in man was not a good. That is about 6'6" vs. 6'2". He had position anytime he wanted.
