  1. Wow, nice follow up dunk by Huff
  2. These officials are doing their best to keep ISU in this game
  3. UND up 8 with 3 minutes to go.
  4. I know your a former FU player but from the outside looking in, in the past if a player is a backup or won't contribute he has been dismissed. If its been a starter, slap on the wrist of the infraction they committed.

Would like to see AJ get on the phone and bring Akeem Roller, Mike Redmond, Jareid Combs and Mikias Alipate with him. There is some good talent in Minnesota this year. Redmond and Alipate appear to be outstanding LB's. Alipate has a good looking highlight tape. They would be solid additions to the LB core and could see early playing time. Jaried Combs could be an outstanding TE in this offense. With the WR we have, that guy looks like he coud do absolute damage in our offense, and see the field right away in a position we have to fill. Roller is a big body we are going to need at DE in the future. He could come join fellow Cretin alums Shea Walker and Joe Kleason.

I agree. I like it. Look at how many times those tweets have been pasted on this board. I'd say they are serving their purpose.
  7. Agree with your first part and since they weren't suspended, the questions and comments are going to keep coming after the game this weekend no matter the outcome. From the outside it looks like winning games is all that matters since the only punishment was a couple extra laps of conditioning. buttlessonlearned

    2013 Recruiting

This class appears to really be taking shape. With the 4 recruiting weekends in January hopefully the coaching staff can continue to get their targets and we get some kids who may be able to contribute immediately next season. There is some opportunity for playing time on the defensive side of the football. Welcome to UND to both AJ and Dustin.

Unless any of the coaches move somewhere else on their own, they will be back next year. If they were going to be let go, it would have happened in the weeks following the season not after recruiting is completed. I see no changes happening with the staff.

Man you FU trolls come across as butthurt about everything UND.
  11. I see the troll showed up to try and derail the thread to change the topic away from ANOTHER criminal investigation into a FU athletic program.

I wasn't comparing Alabama to UND or Alabama football to UND hockey. I feel we'd be crazy not to bring these guys to hockey games. The building and atmosphere are something we should be proud of and show off. A lot of these kids have been up in the fall for an unofficial visit. A lot of other colleges wish they would have something as great as the Ralph and the UND fanbase to showcase in the winter when football is over.

There was an interview on earlier this year with Nick Saban and men' basketball coach Anthony Grant. In it Saban talked about how he makes an attempt to meet with every recruit for every sport Alabama's campus and encourages other programs to bring recruits to Tide football games. Having a strong athletic dept. requires all sports to rely on one another. It goes on everywhere at every level.

Looks like Jameer Thurman will visit UND on Jan. 11th and Southern Illiniois the following weekend on the 18th. According to EdgyTim- http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/highschool/football/ct-spt-1225-prep-foot-edgy-recruiting-notes-20121224,0,2886305.column

This I 100% agree with. I was disappointed last year when I heard guys like McGill went home for the summer. Upperclassmen need to be leaders and the coaches need to "encourage" everyone to commit to this program year round.

Fair question- My expectation for every year is for the team to 1) win the conference 2) make the playoffs 3) win a Nat'l championship. Those have never changed. Are all of those reasonable/realistic? I as a fan like to think, especially #2 on a yearly basis. Right now though I do take into consideration that one year ago I was reading letters/e-mails from people I have a lot of respect for (Lennon, etc.) that the nickname and being in conference limbo was hurting recruiting. It was the only reason I was willing to accept letting the nickname go. I'm willing to give the current staff another year or two to buid a team without that cloud hanging over thier heads. My expectations though do not change from one year to the next accept I exect to see improvement next year on both sides of the ball. It ok for everyone to have thier opinion on this, I just don't agree with those that say if we stick with this coaching staff, we are accepting being average. This coaching staff has had to deal with a ton of things out of thier control the last few years and while it is what they signed up for, in my mind they deserve an extra year for having to put up with it. I have confidence they will right the ship. Too answer your last question- my job too is very much based on performance so I do understand that part of it. I also know that the last few years I have been able to show up to my office or get on a plane and know exactly where I will be that day or the next. It hasn't been a guessing game or an ongoing circus that maybe I'll be here, maybe I won't. Maybe I'll be in marketing for this product, maybe I won't. My product might have extra money put on it, maybe it won't. If that was the case it would make things pretty frustrating.

If the coaches weren't going to be brought back, that decision would have been made already. Its not holding a program to a different standard, its reality.

I know there are people on here who disagree about whether certain coaches should be back but I really don't recall a post from anyone lowering the expectations of the program.

What do you want the hear? If any of the coaches were not going to be back next year it would have happened already. If you have a problem with that posting under a false name on a message board is not going to change anything. Call the AD and voice your concern with him.

All of our coaches are going to be back next season unless they choose to move on. All of our coaches (strength, position, coordinators, and head) know they need to improve next season. This isn't the Great West anymore. Regarding recruits- does it matter if a coach is let go or moves on to another college? The coaching staffs in Fargo, Brookings, Vermillion and Ceder Falls are not going to be the same next season. There are some good coaches at those schools who will have other opportuties. They are also fanbases who have high expections of their programs and the onfield performance. As a recruit, is that a big deal? I would rather have that than an who gives a !@#$ fanbase. Now that we are in an actual conference, fans at other schools are nervous. Read the threads on other boards by fans trying to knock UND, our players, coaches, facilities, conference, etc. You didn't see that 2, 3 or 4 years ago. I agree with the post above, potential recruits do read these boards and that is why we are seeing more "visitors" to our board and threads about UND on other boards. You also see a lot of posters already making excuses or recruits who aren't even lost yet.

I thought Bison Dan taught us last year that the easiest way to predict if a player is any good is if he has a rivals page.
  22. Yes, this is a thread discussing the criminal investigation involving your women's softball program.
  23. I'd say mg2009, bison dan, and post #66 with FU fans going back 2+ years to compare the past year of FU athletics to UND. Keep revistiting history to justify your current situation is what brings it back to FU football. Whatever it takes to justify the actions at FU.

New commitment- Garret Cary- DT from Walworth, WI (offer from Illinios St.) http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Garett-Cary-133726;_ylt=AtnmXhUgHWRC0xIHkhMmOCdIPZB4 Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/397000/#highlights/25621376 Looks like a real solid wrestler, which has translated well in the past. Welcome to UND.

I'm guessing any early commitments aren't solid until the papers are signed. A kid that committed in October could get a phone call the night before signing day and get an offer from a larger school and you can't fault them if they take it. From everything I have read about him though I will be absolutely thrilled when he signs here and it sounds like he is a very solid olineman.
