Title Nine: Our Prong is Bigger Than Your Prong
homer replied to Hammersmith's topic in Other Sports
Its not incredible but if you one were to go back and compare WBB this past season for example, NDSU likely finishes in the bottom third of the Big Sky instead of middle of the pack in the Summit. UND football would have been likely been in the same situation this past season when comparing the BSC to the MVC. Hard to compare seperate conferences but the closest one could get is looking at the RPI ratings that NDSU fans love to look at and even those can be skewed with the ability to schedule more non conference games. Either way- UND has a lot of work to do but I feel pretty confident they are/can right a few of these programs and become competitive consistently in the conference. -

Good chart Hammer. Color coding makes it good to the eye but is misleading if you don't attempt to dig into results. Still tells a decent story. End of the day UND really struggled in a few of the non revenue sports. I see improvements down the road in track and field but the Big Sky is a stronger conference in track and field and in order to get any boxes shaded green would need significant improvement. Baseball, softball and soccer should also benefit from the IPF but only time will tell how much. I still think Faison needs to look at some of the sports and determine if they are neccessary and improvement needs to continue/begin. MBB performance last season is still inexcusable. -
This year? Last couple years? It would be interesting to compare in the sports that both offer. Conference standings, conference rankings, etc.
-
Hopefully we are able to turn the tide this week. Bakersfield swept us in a three game series in early April at Kraft field and they weren't really that close.

Boys are playing well so far. Fun to watch.

No longer on the team. Doesn't want to sit a year.

Dave Hakstol Leaving to Coach NHL Philadelphia Flyers
homer replied to Ray77's topic in Men's Hockey
I was just typing this same thing. Hak had to give a recommendation, Berry would be an easy transition for the program. -

I bet Faison doesn't take 45+ days to hire this replacement. -

Best of luck to Hak. -
They have had a number of them. Next time we will have to type slower for the FU guests.
-
What's your point? Has FU recently had a high school running back who really excelled at WR in college and got a few carries in different formations?
-
I wouldn't put it on women's hockey. There are other sports that could be cut. Some of them men's sports. FU has proven that there are different ways to meet title 9 requirements. How they do it works. Someone really needs to explain to me the benefit of UND sponsoring all the sports they do to meet these requirements.

Hockey does not cause any sports at UND to be underfunded.

Smith also holds the 2nd fastest time in the state of Michigan in the 200m.

There aren't many FBS programs that would limit their players playing time at an FCS school. The second part of this, taking the schools on Notre Dames schedule off the list and the SEC due to transfer rules, any chance Golston ends up at Oregon?
-
I read most comments as posters saying we need some immediate contributors to be competitive in the tougher games on our schedule next season. I also think getting full buy in by the players on the importance of staying together for summer will make a difference. It has been a number of years since that happened.

How many restraunts have been in that location?

He is a good man. My point was the imaginary GOBC didn't keep every single person in GF from opening a Space Aliens. Its a franchise, anyone who wants to pay the fee could have and still can open one despite GFhockeys story.
-
Nobody wanted to pay Mort Bank the million plus he required for the franchise fee? Guy was smart, took a lot of his experience gained from owning his McDonald's stores and translated it to the sit down restraunt. At the end of the day is the name Space Aliens worth $1,000,000+ on the outside of a building? Don't pretend your GOBC had the pull to keep him out. Space Aliens is a franchise.

If it was going to happen with Hansen, now isn't a terrible time. Gives time to potentially find a FBS transfer or someone to fill that spot.

Id love to see a highly promoted event however, with lack of depth still a concern I'm fine with the controlled scrimmage event.

Adrian Peterson wants trade to Cowboys
homer replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Non-collegiate sports
I agree with this. Adrian's public image is shot. If he follows up the incident of beating his son by sitting out a year when he is due 12 million dollars, he will go from one if the best ever to cry baby in most peoples opinion. -
Not sure who the 2nd is but the first (Hjinosa) brings a ton of energy to the defense and is a welcome addition.

And how would that conversation go?
