I'd like to know more detail before trying to throw UND under the bus. They have several huge projects going on around campus right now and funds had to be secured on all of them before they could start. Did they upgrade parts of the project, did something unexpected come up during construction etc. I have no problem with projects being delayed to be completed correctly so these projects do not turn into the presidents house at NDSU. You are also telling this story as the friend of a friend. Hard to believe every detail is being repeated. If true, why continue to work on projects you aren't getting paid for?

In the flip side, maybe this is what Faison was referring to when he said the programs had to be reevaluated. Smit would be scary the amount of travel costs we would save and how easily COA could be covered without having to drop a thing. We would probably be able to bump coaching salaries as well with the bump attendance would get.

It says they can offer the same amount in recruiting as the schools they will be recruiting against. Nothing less than that. Does a recruit care if this announcement came 6 days early or late? How much did the wooden bleachers save in the SHAC? Surprised Teammakers couldn't eat that up and spit that amount out for a brand new arena.

Lets be honest, the fact that UND made an announcement they are doing this also less than a week after NDSU made a huge deal about it drives you crazy. NDSU acted like it was a huge deal and UND came in and did what the coaches, fans and recruits expected. Lets be honest, your AD still has to raise the other half of the money and than come up with a plan for sustainment of the $700,000 annually after year 3. What's that plan look like?

Another thing on this game. I'm hoping someone from the Alerus and the athletic dept take some notes on how to do the game say atmosphere. From the intro to the various things to get fans involved the fargodome does a good job with a football game to make it an event.
