  1. I don't think all the student sections should be in the upper bowl. It is important to have students near the ice. However, if students are complaining about being moved to a corner section, I cannot even fathom how much they will complain if they get moved to an end section AND have to watch the game through black netting.
  2. Since you are pointing out certain things, I believe skates said you were one stage BELOW developmentally disabled.
  3. I sit in 112 about ten rows up from the ice and they are great seats. But, knowing full well that REA, like all other arenas, will be putting nets up on each end of the rink (rumored to be taking place before the 04-05 season in GF), I am happy to swap seats. I, for one, thought looking through the netting at the X was a miserable experience until I moved to a much higher row. If the students don't care to look through netting, they should push for center ice sections, even if they are in the upper bowl.
  4. Sioux fans, yellowdog cannot help being repugnant, it is who he is and it won't ever change. However, yellow, before taunting posters about their supposed lack of intelligence, you should really complete your GED refresher course. Case in point, you said could care less, which means you actually could care less. Couldn't care less means you really could not care less no matter what. For the quoted statement to have the effect that you desire and to properly reflect your feelings you should have used proper grammar and said couldn't care less. Without doing so, the statement is nonsensical. I will now be on the edge of my seat awaiting your witless retort.
  5. Why? Although it is nice to have, it is generally nothing more than a curse!!! As for Martin leaving, don't the Devils have his rights? If so, with Hale's recent signing, I don't foresee Martin being signed this offseason.
  6. I just returned from Buffalo. Although Vanek is telling everyone that he is coming back, the word, which I heard over and over again while there, is that he has let people in NHL circles know that if he is offered over a million a year, and why wouldn't he be, he will strongly consider leaving. With regard to the championship game, the difference in play between Minn. and UNH was remarkable. Once the Gophers woke up they were a far superior team. Hats off to them for doing something no one else has done in many, many years.
  7. So do I, but I am not and I would have a hard time justifying asking for more although I have been giving money to UND since the 80's and have followed Sioux hockey religiously since the 70's. I have missed a total of six home games since the 1989-90 season began and whether a undergrad, grad student or an alum, I have considered myself thankful and fortunate each time I was able to walk into the REA to watch the Fighting Sioux, no matter the seat location. I can appreciate the students position and am not trying to incite a riot, but I sit behind the goal UND defends twice (section 112) and the experience is enjoyable despite not being on the other end. It is great not because of where I sit, but because it is a great arena, great team, great game, great hockey, great fun and the best show around and I am grateful that I get to experience as often as I do.
  8. The big dude was Andy Sutton who was traded this year from the Wild to the Thrashers. After watching him play for Tech, how he is in the NHL is beyond me? That guy simply could not skate! Jay Caulfield was the football player who played one hockey game for UND and then spent several years with the Penguins in the NHL as an enforcer. Of note, he was the personal trainer that got Mario back into gameshape when he made his most recent comeback.
  9. Will he get sent down to Worcester? If so, perhaps he will be put on a line with Panzer and Pohl. That would be pretty cool.
  10. If you move to St. Louis you will now be able to watch Peter Sejna play; rumor has it he signed with the Blues today and will be in their lineup tomorrow!!!
  11. Canisius averages only 273 fans per game? That had to increase now that they have Forecheck's dreamboat, The Wookie, on their roster!!!
  12. If NDSU is in a league with schools such as the "Notre Dame's" their abysmal record of last year will not be an aberration.
  13. Sprig, As of Calgary's game with the Wild the other night, Leopold was still a Flame!
  14. Actually, I am familiar with Drone. The information that he received came from the Mason brother that is the goalie coach for the Minnesota Wild. Apparently, there is some talk in NHL circles. That being said, I don't foresee Blais leaving either.
  15. I am not sure what the hell this means? Now a person has to provide empirical data to support their dislike for a school's athletic programs? I grew up in GF and don't like the Bison or Gopher hockey, plain and simple. I could list reasons, but they would probably overload this board. Now, back to Jim's question, what does any of this have to do with UND hockey.
  16. His response will likely be: i ddn't paly for Lavita i paly for RR and it sukked tht the Cetnral beet us!
  17. I agree with skateshattrick, it is a good question and I think his analysis is dead on. Assuming everyone who should return does return, both clubs will be dangerous. The one thing working in UND's favor, especially if Minnesota repeats, is that they will get to fly below the radar, so to speak, because everyone will be bringing their A game and gunning to knock off the Gophers. As for the rest of the teams, I also agree with skates breakdown, however, I do not think Mankato will be as strong. They tied their way to a second place tie this year in the league. And although they don't lose a lot, they survived on the proverbial puck luck or lack thereof for their opponents all year and I cannot see that happening again. When teams figure out how to shut down Stevenson and Joseph like teams did with Parise and Bochenski this year, Mankato will not be very effective.
  18. By looking at 2001 as a reference, LeNeveu should win. In 2001 Panzer, the top scorer in the nation, had 81 points, Sejna, the top scorer this year, 82 points. Obviously, the numbers are very similar. However, Panzer lead his team to the championship game, while CC didn't even make the FF this year and, as we all know, Panzer didn't win. LeNeveu's numbers are similar to, but better than, Miller's from the year he won. Also, he is a sophomore, same as Miller was and both lead their teams to the FF. Historically, and for purposes of consistency (what's that?), it stands to reason that LeNeveu will win. However, I believe Sejna will be the actual winner, which I hope is the case and as much as I enjoy watching him play, I also hope he doesn't return to CC for his senior season.
  19. More than one and Siouxrock is the head toilet cleaner at all of them, when RR is not playing hockey, of course.
  20. This is a matter of opinion and you are entitled to yours, but the fact of the matter is, as of this date, Goren, DeFauw and Commodore are all playing in the NHL, and of those Gophers listed, only Leo is currently active on an NHL roster. That being said, and as much as I hate to admit it, I think the Gophers are primed for a repeat this year.
  21. The Gophers meanwhile, have made it back to the Frozen Four much like the Sioux did when they won the crown a few years back, but here is the big difference. The Sioux made it back with essentially the same team, and lost in the championship game this time around. While fans will have to wait until April 10 to find out how the Gophers are going to do, the Gophers did make it back despite losing their top three scored from last season. This statement from the article shows what little this chap actually knows about Sioux hockey. When UND made it back in 2001, it was without Lee Goren (34 goals in 2000 and the national tournament MVP), Jason Ulmer (game winning goal in 2000 championship game), Peter Armbrust (2000 captain), Brad Defauw (current NHL'er), Tim O'Connell and Mike Commodore, who needs no comment. Let's see, five seniors, four of whom are part of the small group of Sioux players that have won two championships during their tenure. And Goren and Commodore, both currently in the NHL. Yeah, that 2001 team was virtually the same. Unfortunately, I live in Fargo and am surrounded by this type of ignorance everyday.
  22. If that was ndgopher's point, he should have made it more concisely, but apparently, he has his little peons do that for him. Are you and ndgopher, bert and KGB in disguise?
  23. When I originally read this I thought it was some sort of April Fools joke until I remembered that you were the poster that broke the news that Ziggy was forsaking all scholarship offers to walk on at UND, which most people didn't want to buy into either. You were dead on before, but I hope that is not the case this time.
