Yes, McMahon wasn't in the lineup. As for Prpich I thought he looked good, but perhaps his fists were still hurting a bit. Much improvement for the whole team and not just because they were playing Concordia. They simply looked like they have made some nice strides over the last week. Parise's amazing, Bochenski's a machine and did anybody else think that Brady Murray looked like a totally different player from last weekend - faster, stronger with the puck and much more confident. Among other players, Fylling is much improved from last season and Genoway looks like he could finally make a very nice contribution. After the football teams improbable victory (going for two with two seconds left - crazy, but successful) and the hockey team making strides, I am very excited for next weekend. That being said, the next week will probably feel like a month.

Okay, fair enough, thanks! I couldn't access a few of the Herald articles today for some reason, so I missed the info regarding Jones. I hope it isn't a serious injury!
-
How can you make a statement like that without providing more information? You aren't restricted by HIPPA or some sort of gag order, are you? Jones is a very important part of the team, I hope it isn't injury related.

For now he will be doing his after-the-whistle stick and fist work in the minors. He was sent down right before the Coyotes first regular season game.

The best part of the game other than Maine's win was all Wooger's inadvertently funny comments. The Gophers did not look good and Ballard was terrible most of the game. Oh well, the Gophs will likely smoke their opponent tomorrow night, be it Wisco or Omaha.

You may be right. I wonder if Prpich will be sitting this Saturday in addition to the Friday BC game. Does anybody have any insight?
-
I don't think he has to, but it seems DB is going to require him to sit two games. It would appear to me that by sitting Prpich this Saturday, the "shuffled" lines will have the Concordia game to become more familiar with each other before taking on BC the following Friday.
-
His last name is actually Forrest and he was a second-team All-American last year; that is a big loss for them. If he does sit their first four games, he would be back for the Saturday UND game, but I don't know if the actually length of suspension has been stated!

Thanks for the great info. As an out-of-towner I always look forward to the weekly update. Not only is it great to read CB's comments, but to also discover that Robin Anderson is no longer officiating in the WCHA is a nice bonus!

It seems to me that they both made a mistake on Thorton's goal tonight, but I suppose that is to be expected from two youngsters. Regardless, it is good to see them skating together and getting a shot in the NHL this soon after leaving college.

I believe UND is organizing a tailgating event outside REA immediately following the NDSU football game and leading up to Saturday BC hockey game, but I don't have any details.
-
With Parise skating with Bochenski and Murray and UND's improved depth which should take some of the pressure off ZP's line, I am sure there are many people on this board that would be willing to place a few bets!
-
Other than Parise in net, Ziggy on the bench and Foyt who skated two shifts, there were only four new numbers/players on the ice - Murray, Stafford, Porter and Smaby - with numbers on the front and back of their jerseys it really wasn't that hard to keep the players straight, especially considering none of the returning players changed numbers and REA was selling programs for $1.00! The old-time jerseys were a one-time thing anyway.
-
Maybe not, but he let in three during the game when it matters! As for UAA, they got off to an inauspicious start losing to Northern Alberta.

Sometime the week before Meet the Sioux, suite holders were provided information regarding the silent auction for the HOF game worn jerseys. The auction was intended to be for suite holders only, which was a bit misguided as the majority of suite holders don't typically attend events such as Meet the Sioux. My friends placed several calls to UND the day of Meet the Sioux and were finally told by the individual running the auction that although the auction was targeted to suite holders, if others were willing to bid on the jerseys, had the high bid and were able to pay that night, UND would gladly accept their money. Based on that representation and upon arriving at Meet the Sioux, my group of friends and I immediately went to the Pro Shop and asked for a bid numbers, which we were given as was everyone else who asked for a number. I then told the person working security at the auction gate that I had a bid number and wanted to place a bid and he waived me right in no questions asked; at no time was I asked if I was a suite holder. I know at least nine jerseys sold that night to nonsuite holders. And all those jerseys, including Schneider, Jones, Fylling, Smaby, Prpich and Greene went for the $100.00 minimum bid. Bochenski's and Murray's both went for a little bit more than the minimum, but not much. I believe Parise's went for $325 to a suite holder who also was high bidder on a few others!
-
Bids were only taken for two hours at Meet the Sioux last Monday.

The goalie that gets the nod will likely be the goalie that has the best week of practice during the week leading up to the BC series. As for the Concordia game, I am assuming that each goalie will play one period.
-
A good friend of mine, who is an occasional poster on this board, had the high bid last Monday night for the actual jersey Prpich wore during last night's game. It will be interesting to see how that jersey survived the fight!
-
They did have at least one issue under the glass near the cash register in the Pro Shop last night, but I couldn't tell if it was for sale or just display.

Not unlike the Wisco announcer, Johanson I believe, saying that Alex Brooks took it to Commodore back in 98-99; a laughable and ridiculous statement! Prpich clearly didn't destroy Peluso like Commodore did Brooks, however, after watching the replay Prpich definitely landed more quality shots, stayed on his skates and was the victor even though it was a pretty even fight! Brad Berry said that he was looking for someone to step forward with some rough stuff and show the Dogs that UND means business this year.
-
They were selling them at the TJ Maxx in GF and Fargo last season for between $20-$25. I haven't stopped in there in months though so not sure if they are selling them again this season.
-
It is good to see that both linesmen have ties to North Dakota. I am not sure where Brian Mach is from though, sorry.
-
That is a different Andy Schneider. UND's Schneider's rights are owned by Pittsburgh, Bochenski belongs to Ottawa. Former UND d-man, Curtis Murphy, was left unprotected by Nashville though.

On a different note, several members of the St. Louis coaching staff, including the head coach, and a few of their players were at Dagwood's after the game last night. They were very friendly and accessible. Based on my observations of their coaching staff and players combined with the Blues treatment of Panzer - calling him up for a game in his hometown - I would have to say that St. Louis is a quality and classy organization.
