If this scenario pans out and I was a CC fan I'd be POed. Would not want to be part of that bracket. As for Minny - yes I would like that bracket if it happened - but we are a looooooooong way from that becoming reality.

The BADgers have a way of getting teams out of slumps. I'd be surprised if UND took any less than four points this weekend. The Sioux schedule has been very non-cupcake the past several weeks and UW should be just what the baker ordered. Thanks to UMD I won't have to cheer for the Badgers - Thank GOD!

The only suspense in this game is if the POI gang wears maroon or gold!

Just saw this in the Mpls paper and thought Sioux fans would be interested. Wanted: goalie With crunch time approaching, North Dakota still is searching for consistent goaltending. The fifth-ranked Sioux gave Josh Siembida another shot last weekend against Michigan Tech, and after earning an 8-0 shutout Friday, he wavered in a stunning 5-2 loss. Siembida gave up four goals on 20 shots, including one on a 50-foot shot by Colin Murphy. He was replaced by Jake Brandt as the Sioux lost for the first time at home this season. Though Siembida is 12-3 -- the best overall winning percentage in the WCHA and third-best in the nation -- he has a save percentage of .852 (14th in the league and 79th in the nation) and goals-against average of 3.17. Brandt is 9-2-2, but he also has a sub-.900 save percentage (.895, 50th in NCAA). PCM - It's Thursday, right? My day to watch Glen & Lou is Monday.

Not to be a prick, but the Final Five is in St. Paul. I'm a St. Paul resident and I hate to see the suburb to our west get any credit, especially when it comes to hockey! For the record, The suburb to the west of St. Paul has the basketball team and the worst arena ever. Even if UND loses in St. Paul I'd be surprised if they don't make the NCAA's...

Assuming 1-4 & 2-3: I'd hate to face MSU & U-MI back-to-back in Ann Arbor. If this pans out it will a tough road for the Sioux. It could also be tough for the WCHA top team CC, as playing MN at Mariucci is probably not an enviable postion either. Again, assuming this pans out and that is doubtful. Most interesting tidbit from this list - find JBSU.

I knew! You're really UW's Eric Jensen.

IMO - 1. Jutting - It's a short list of those who picked this team to battle for home ice, let alone the title. 2. Owens - pojected contender and running away with title 3. Sandelin - Very quietly having a solid year and another great story - they had 15 points total last year. Sorry Dean, but any coach with God on his team should be doing much better.....

Geez I hope he doesn't fall off that limb he's on. A sweep at home aginst MTU? Even AA has a chance to sweep MTU at home.

I would guess we'd need to do this either in March or April to make it work - and allow the suzies to practice. Plus, a bunch of the POIers are on an IM team that goes through March.

What's the scoop on this? PCM - In your piece on the Hale brothers there was a reference to David Hale having some sort of stomach (??) disorder. Does this make him for succeptable to illness? Thanks. Regardless - I'll add my get will soon wishes to David. Edit - It's a Kidney disorder - sorry. Could this affect his overall health? Make him more succeptable to or magnify the effects of a flu? Thanks.

Goon, just a little obsessed withe the Gophers, eh? I suddenly feel I should post a ZP thread on POI.

From an outsider: Your defensemen. They make great outlet passes to get the puck our of the zone and clear rebounds out of the slot as well as any team I've ever seen. Don't take this as a shot, it's an observation, but your goalies (from what I've seen) give up a ton of big rebounds yet very few second opportunities are allowed. My second vote would be the Parise / Noterman combination. Parise, from what I've read is a rink rat who has transformed the practice attitude of the Sioux. Noterman never takes a shift off and I suspect the rest of the team feeds off their example.
