  1. sprig - typically they run two zamboni's between periods, and I would guess one was being used at the Title IX palace next door. Anyway, running two allows the ice more time to set up so that does not happen. Needless to say, seeing the puck stopping right in front of the Gopher net (and me!) did give me some minor heart palpitations.
  2. Adam was in Mankato....and awarded MSU-MN a penalty shot in overtime allowing MSU-M to win. Sertich would have flipped his wig - If he still had one... USCHO MSU-M v. MTU Story
  3. It's my understanding Blais was at the Gopher Blue-line luncheon early this afternoon. Sadly, I can't make these as they're accross town and I (sigh) have to work. But, only ~25 years until retirement!
  4. PCM - It's not going over well. Today's article should have been about the game. This would have been a great piece to run Monday or Tuesday this week. That being said, it was a nice article and anything positive about hockey - especially college - is good.
  5. No prob Hircus. Just looking out for the St. Paul boys.
  6. Looks like PA & Dubay took a page right out of the Howard Cosell book of "How to get your show to number one" book. Don't forget, with their schtick, being a rube is a good thing.
  7. Bochenski plays for the Sioux. He's doing well. He's (apperantly) staying out of trouble. He's happy (I assume) with his choice. MN won the NC last year. I don't care who offered what when and retracted what & when or if at all. The story is over a year old. In other words, I'm over it. Lets get it on!
  8. 1. I would assume Blais spoke of a "player" at SSM. It's my understanding he (or any other coach) cannot publicly speak of a player until the LOI is signed and delivered. 2. Holy PA & Dubay obsession. The last time I listened, they spend the first two hours plotting how to PO UND fans in Grand Forks during the third hour. It' working.
  9. Don't forget, Woog loves the WCHA almost as much as he loves the Gophers. For the record, I feel Jeff Sauer is just as good as Woog when I've heard him interviewed (and possibly done a MN-UW game???) and I hated him as a coach. Anyway, Woog's stories about John Mariucci, John MacInnes, Murray Armstrong, et al are priceless. But, the best part about Woog is he doesn't take himself to seriously and he can laugh at himself.
  10. I didn't hear it so I can't comment but don't forget Paul Allen wouldn't know a puck if it bonked him in the mellon. He makes Sid look like a hockey guru.
  11. PCM - It's actually "Ide on Ic," which is German for "the Gophers will sweep the cupcakes this weekend."
  12. Sprig - Goon wanted more fighting, hence the cupcake comment. Goldy? He's fair game.
  13. Vrooooom - right over my head. Sorry. I think most Gopher fans respect Jason and his play. Yes, there are some Gopher fans not crazy about his dad for a variety of reasons. If anything though, they should respect his passion for and love of the game.
  14. dagies - In you missed Goldy. <-----------------------
  15. I get 45 on my TV without cable and a regular antenna. If you're stuck in a hotel room or someone's home it should be on regardless if they have cable or the dish, or rabbit ears/rooftop antenna. Channle 45 is usually channel 12 on most cable systems. I would guess Outback would have it on along with America's Largest Sports Bar in the big mall or any other bar in the area with TV's. I think Joe Sensor's is another good spot along 494 to watch. You should have no problem watching the Gopher get a win Friday night.
  16. Noterman - Congrats to Jason. He has always impressed this Gopher fan with his work ethic and I'm sure it's a well deserved honor. BTW - will you be in or around the UND parents in Sec 9? Say hi to the geek with the Gopher throwback number 2 - Friday only.
  17. It's on KTCS Channel 45, which is an over-the-air UHF station (Can I still be the janitor? ) and can be picked up within 50 or so miles of the twin towns.
  18. PCM - I didn't hear the interview and I assumed Woog was talking about the missed offsides call in this past weekend's MN-SCSU series. If he was referring to the AR's two penalty calls in GF a few years ago he needs to let it go. It's ancient history in my mind. Missing an offsides is not acceptable and that, BTW, is the only call I will complain about from this past weekend. Penalties are complete judgement calls - Some go your way and some don't and they will even out in the end. I'd rather catch a break in the NC game than in a semi-meaningless game against JBSU in January. However, an AR missing a guy three feet offsides is inexcusable and should never be blown. DeMarchie can go after Parise, but I doubt he could catch him.
  19. Replays showed a St. Cloud player about three feet offsides just prior to the 2nd (?) goal being scored. My guess is Wooger was referring to this and not the UND game two years ago.
  20. Excluding the last 2 seconds this past Saturday night, DeMarchie has not taken too many dumb penalties this year. The water bottle squirt was more embaressing & stupid.
  21. From what I understand, channel 45 is only available to those (on the dish) with the local programming option inside the local viewing area - in other words you're sol for 45 if you're outside the normal TC viewing area. And yes, FSN has (so far) replayed all channel 45 games sometime on the following Sunday afternoon. Should be a fun weekend. The Gopher top line has been very quiet the past few games, but we've had good production (especially this past weekend) and pressure from the 3rd & 4th lines. If MN wants to take any points from the Sioux they need to crash the net and score ugly. If they try to make the perfect pass like they did last weekend they will not score enough.
  22. Goon - I would be up for it. Unfortunately my wife has scheduled us for something during the Saturday MN-UND game in January. Pops and I should be going to the Friday game, maybe then? I know he got a kick out of Murph during the Frozen Four. Maybe try something in St. Paul before during the Final Five? Or, better yet, a POI - Sioux Sports.com hockey game. The ultimate grudge match.
