I agree with Sagard - I enjoy the recaps and usually enjoy the dialogue that follows. One has to appreciate a coach as candid as Blais and I hope you and forecheck keep posting these. But Millergate this week has been tedious...

Guys like that are a tribute to college hockey. Their mom must of been a hell of a woman.

As a Gopher fan I'm afraid I have to agree with your projections and analysis of the Gophs. I'm now looking behind us in the standings instead of in front of us and it would not surprise me if UMD sneaks into the top 5. They have four points with MN - which they will be hyped for, plus a virtual gimme 8 pts. with MTU to end the season. Splits at home against DU and same next weekend at MSU-M - who will have a hangover IMO - are likely. In fact, the only I see sweep is when they play (and get swept) at UND. This upcoming weekend at Alaska for MN scares the bejesbus out of me. If ever there was one team heading for a possible upset it's MN - big time. While AA has to win at some point. Don't they? Getting the two defensemen back has been a big boost for the dogs in St. Cloud - bigger than I anticipated. I saw a little of the UW-CC Saturday game and CC is hitting on all cylinders - but UW has that affect on teams. Regardless of rooting iterest, it should be an A+ weekend of puck in the Springs.

We played the USCHO game at the Bloomington Ice Garden.

There's something to be said about a guy named Handyman shadowing a guy who took his name from a porn star! What I don't know? But I'm not bringing my kids just in case.

You're in luck if MN fan Fire Helmet Guy shows up to watch. He is a firefighter for a local suburban dept (if you watched KMSP channel 9 Monday night you know he was busy!) and I think is EMS trained. I also think Gopher fan Supersock is/was a paramedic. We're a self sufficient group.

I agree about Koalska. I stated earlier, I think the key MN player for the series is Gino Guyer as he will be asked to step into Matt's skates. While the MSU-M PP has been very good, so has the MN kill (currently 2nd in WCHA, but a quite far behind the leader CC). Also, while Koalska does kill penalties he is just one of many who does. Waibel, Riddle, Flemming, Anthony, & MacKinnon are all very good on the penalty kill. The other area where we will really miss Koalska is face-offs, he is easily the best one on the Gophers. I anticipate Potulny's play to be rusty, but his leadership is crucial for this team. My fuzzy little ears have perked up.

That's a big role. Remember, it's not the game, it's the beer at the bar afterwards that matters. KBG - Ice hockey? Thank God you specified, I thought it may be field hockey. That should be a two minute penalty.

See what you started. I would highly reccommend shooting an e-mail ato UPB or Sal. How many moderators/administrators would do what UPB did in an earlier post?

Give WPoS time, he'll find a way. How does MSU-M operate their PP? I don't recall from our first series with them. Sideboards? Points? Low? Given what I've read I'm really glad we'll have Waibel back.

That is a good point. Unless you closely follow the program you wouldn't (nor shouldn't) know anything about Roby. It is a great story if you happen to be a MN fan. I would bet virtually every program in every varsity sport has a similar story. I will add this though, he may be called "Rudy" by the Twin Cities media, but Roby has a lot more going for him than that loser from Notre Dame.

KBG - I did not hear you, too busy cheering. <------------------------- BTW - that's Roby celebrating

taz - Get bent.

Wow - Blast from the past. Whatever happened to Hobey Dan? He was just as bad on the Gopher Athletics site as he was on the Sioux site. I guess once Spehar didn't win the Hobey he disappeared.

Roundball game at Williams - 7PM v. Northwestern. And no, I have no idea why that can't be played in the afternoon.

From our previous series with Mankato the Gophers will have Tallackson, Waibel, and Potulny in the lineup. Koalska will be out for this series. Potulny will provide a huge emotional lift for this team. His work ethic and leader by example style has been missed and I anticipate (regardless of his production) his presence will elevate the Gopher's over all perfomance. MSU-M has been the feel good story in the league so far. Who can honestly say they thought the Mavs would be postioning themselves for a home ice series this late in league play? Jutting has done an impessive job with this group and I hope the bubble bursts this weekend, but I would be surprised if either team sweeps. The Gophers may have an advantage in depth which should help on Saturday afternoon, but this could be offset by a less than boisterious than the normally less than boisterious crowd at Maruicci. Other than Potulny, the key player for MN will be Gino Guyer. He will be asked to fill Koalska's roles the next several weekends and stong play from him crucial for the Gophers to get 4 points.

My $0.002. I was one who thought the ban was harsh for one post. But, according to Sal and UPB they saw a pattern in U2Bad's posts and the post in question was anther example in this pattern. It's their board and they run it very well, very fair, and they are very accomodating to any questions/thoughts/ideas from goofballs like me. I guess the moral of the strory is respect. My philosophy when I post here is simple: Don't be antigonistic. This is a Sioux board for Sioux fans and I feel I should behave as though I'm a guest at someones house. I may not agree with their strange customs, behaviours & color schemes, but I'm still a guest and should show respect for fans of the Sioux. My opinion is this board is well run and intersting to peruse simply because the majority of the posters know their hockey so their posts are informative. It would be a differenct story if SCSU had a board.....

That was me, and it's not a pretty sight. There's a chance the UND fans could have been (gasp!) ringers. There are rumors of them clapping along feaverishly with the Rouser. It looked mighty suspicious to me when the kept turning to run parallel to the blue lines during the race. I smelled shenannigans, or the UND Geograhy Dept. needs to coller those two.

Hi guys, here's some fuel for the fire in this debate. Scroll to the bottom of the article - looks to me this guy is in a fantasy land.

Well it sure as hell didn't help the home team. My thought - if the only have one machine nuke the between periods crap on the ice and resurface. BTW, did you see the sled race betweent the Sioux and Gopher fans? KBG and WPoS from POI were the Gopher contestants. WPoS has the first sled dog.
