Isn't that what you said last year too?

Did Grand Forks get traded to South Dakota?

I suspect you mean Anthony. If Ballard & Martin come back I would not be surprised to see Kennedy (hopefully) take a redshirt. His upside is high but he will not see much ice team if the D all stay.
-
Try going to POI Lite.

Huh? DeMarchie was no less than stellar the past two months and then stepped his play up even more during the NCAA's. He took one penalty (and it was a lame interfernce call) during the FF, scored the first goal in the final, and was named to the all tourney team. In short, even though he wasn't a captain, he was a captain the past three weeks. dagies - thanks!

Luck is the point where hard work and preperation meet. - John Wooden Have the Gophers been lucky? Absolutely. More importantly, have the Gophers capitalized on these opportunities? Recently, yes. For every Final Five championship the Gophers have won at the X, there is also a loss. For every overtime win in the NCAA's played in St. Paul, there is an OT loss. For every regional championship at Mariucci, there is a DNQ.

How will I ever sleep tonight??? Hopefully The Don is reminding them it's still a three period game. If MN gets the lead early against UNH I think the 'cats will slowly unravel. But let UNH take the lead, gain confidence, and allow Ayres to get hot, it could be a long night for the Gophs.

I could not agree any more with this statement. It's ok to woof on POI or Jupiter's POI Lite, but here it's not cool.
-
Get this, I voted for MN. If MN wins I may become insufferable.

This potential nightmare will now haunt you for months.

It's killing me not to be there... To make a long story short, we found out my daughter needs to be fitted for hearing aids so spending ~1K for a trip just didn't seem prudent. Plus, regardless of how MN does next year my wife and I are going to Beantown so this year just didn't work out. UNH is very fast and they play a great 5x5 game.
-
I guess that is what I'm implying since it's going to East v. West. Neither team this afternoon seemed well coached. Way to many dumb penalties IMO. You're right, it will be a heck of a game, but if UNH takes that many dumb penalties against either MN or MI they will be toast. Stay out of the box and it wil be a close game. Ayers was impressive. And like I said, "Should" is the key word. Edit - I'd like to thank announcer Norton for telling me, when there was about a minute left, that this was a crucial part of the game. Thanks Bob, you da man.
-
CU, taking a page from the UNH book, takes a penalty with 3 to go. The MI-MN winner should win it all. Key word: Should.
-
UNH is just plain dumb. Stupid penalties are going to kill them. CU can smell blood and the only thing saving UNH is their goalie.

Wow - Notradomas?

I can't say I was surprised there were no Gophers voted as 1st team all-Americans. Last year's Gopher team rode the backs of Pohl, Leopold, et al, this year's team does not have players of that elite caliber (yet) in my opinion. Lucia has molded this into a more complete unit, one that lacks any real superstars, but one that from top to bottom is as consistant and solid as any Gopher team I've seen in a long time. I was surprised Bochenski was snubbed though, seems very shortsighted to me. Plus, now he's going to be POed next year....

I said this on another thread but when the Gophers played UND in January that Prpich was nothing but a hack. He changed my mind when I saw him play agianst FSU and will give the devil his due. He should be the break-out player for UND next year - and maybe even for the WCHA. My other observation is the lack of killer instinct. Pardan the cliche', but since Blais took ove as coach I've never, ever, felt comfortable with a lead when playing the Sioux. To me, that is the ultimate compliment but I didn't see it this year down the stretch. The body language just wasn't there, IMO, at the end of games (granted my limited exposure is important to remember). I don't know if it was a lack of leadership or a better explenation is the lack of leadership who could make their BS good at crunch time? But I found this surprising for a Blais coached team.

MIP to a freshman? Interesting. I've always thought of that as an award given to someone who improves from one year to another. I guess I'll have to rethink that. I was not too impressed with Prpich during the UND-MN series in January. In fact, I thought he was a cement head hack. I have to admit he was one of the Sioux's better players during the FSU game.

FYI - The Wild recalled Curtis Murphy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/transactions

Why do I get the feeling if one finds it "the other one" will automatically have it too?

I've been called worse.

I admit I like this site quite a bit. The hockey talk is very good and it seems as long as you remain civil, non-Sioux posters are welcomed. This site seems very tolerable as long as one a) keeps the woofing to a minnimum, b) keeps it clean, and c) sticks to hockey - which I didn't do until I added this edit. But It's funny that Handy, Hammy, and WPoS are accused of being here and I'm probably the Gopher fan with the most posts. I guess I'm a ScottM wanna be of Siouxsports.

So you're saying you bought the farm?!?!? The whole possibility of the Gophers having a chance to repeat is tough for you to deal with, eh?
-
And I'd be willing to contribute to Sejna's salary if it means getting him the he!! out of college hockey.
-
Goon - I was going to ask you on another thread if you're "Gopher" friends and family were getting to you. Here's hoping they can keep tormnting you.
