Your numbers are wrong - 12,000 for the Gopher game - double that for 2 years in a roll. You can play with numbers all you want - hockey is still a regional sport with only 50 some teams of which 40 are usually very bad and under funded.

Ben Jacobson at UNI just won his first round game against UNLV last night. Ask Ben how much publicity his team has received this week? Every paper in the country will carry the score and a column about it. Now UNI is in the second round and just wait and see how much publicity his team gets. His team is nothing special just 7-8 guys that play great BB together, do nothing stupid and don't beat themselves. Ask coach Saul how many radio and TV interviews he did before & after the Kansas game? There were hundreds. March Madness is a very big deal. Good luck to Ben in the next round.

Night and Day difference. One thing you can't tell watching on TV is the speed of the game. Also the strength of the women today is better and it's a lot rougher inside.

I don't know about that (lowering the floor) but it's going to be a bowl with approx. 6,000 seats. New offices, weight room (next to old Dacotah field), 2 practice courts.

No addition on the Dome. From what I heard they're going to strip down the BSA to the steel and rebuild.

Haven't heard yet but I think the deal is done. Maybe waiting for some more pieces to fall into place. 2 year project with 2 phases.

I have to disagree - It would make their jobs easier because they wouldn't have to worry about the negatives that go along with the name. It's a PC world now and if you keep it, it will dog the university for as long as you have it. Both of them have no long standing love for the name like an alumnus would have. What UND alumus have to ask yourselves if the name is changed - where are my loyalties - am I a graduate of UND or Sioux?

NDSU is just saying they would like to get 6 home games every year. (perfect world) Gene is just doing what he thinks is best for the athletic dept money wise. If we lock into a series with UND every year it would prevent that. I don't know for sure but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the contract we have with USD was proposed to UND first. Hard to get a contract done when the one party dealing from a lessor position wants to call the shots. Football pays our bills like hockey does yours so don't compare the two programs with the same goals (as far as scheduling). Shawn-O posted last fall that one UND FB game only drew 4,200 (NAIA game I think) Can you imagine what would happen if we only had 4,200 at a FB game or hockey only drew 4,200?

Yeah you're right - the lowly summit isn't good enough for all the Sioux sports. I think you should inform your AD and president to quit begging for membership. As far as playing FB every year I doubt that will happen until we're both in the same conference.

I wonder how many years it will take for all people watching any UND games on FCS to equal that ONE game back in March. Do you really think that anyone watches UND BB outside of Sioux fans (maybe) and if they do what do you think they think of it?

Isn't it amazing what star thinks he knows? It's as if he was there on those recruiting visits. Did Miles also promise them they would play Kansas in the first round of the 09 NCAA BB tournament? If not he should have.

The only thing you could own is hot air. Again the "sports that matter" - Why don't you just cut out all the sports that don't matter?? Wouldn't that make more sense?

I love how you blame the NDBoHE for this - the only reason they're in it is because UND's admin asked them to be the fall guy. If the admin wanted to wait until Nov. the NDBoHE would let it.

Good for you - you see we value more than a double of sports and actually do well in them.
