Remember the no call (interference at our blue line) last spring at the Ralph and they scored. I like rembering how we pumped them during the regular season 2003-04. In their building it was like 8- 2 and 6-2. And then we beat them at home 6-2 once that same year. I still think that hurt us for that regional game in the Springs. This is looking like a good time to play them because it sound like that were out played badly in Maine and they were outshot both games last weekend against lower level teams. BRING THEM ON Finley could become a UND legend in one night. Also it is hall of fame weekend with lots of alumni in town. its going to be a great weekend.

If Forney does whats best for his career he will go to the USHL next year. If he goes to Minnesota or UND next fall he will be 4th or 5th line. Not because he is a bad player, but because both teams are so stacked with young talent. Minnesota wants him next year just so they can get him there. He needs to become stronger and a year in the USHL will help him adjust to more physical play. Remember they were going to redshirt Ben Gordon this year. So they must have brought him in to early. After the next 2 home series (Denver & Wisconsin) you will see a player or two committ. They are kids that will be on official visits and it will give us more things to discuss on this board. I thought this would happen after the Neastern series, but they probably wanted recruits to be here during better games.

I hope the crowd will BOOOO him everytime he touches the ice or puck, like the Wild fans do to Bertuzzi.

Thetriouper, You were totally right about TJ. I knew he had the Talent and that he would be a great player because he is so smart and he works so hard, but I didn't expect him to have this kind of impact until next year. You kept talking him up, I started thinking that you were his dad. But you were right.

Toews is a very special kid. Not only a great all around player, but you can tell that he is very intelligent. He was interviewed on the radio last week and he sounded more mature then most 25 year olds. I would like to see him play center.

Good post Iramurphy. Also note that Forney is one of the top tennis players in the state. Hopefully Forney will realize that Lucia likes his players to skip there senior year and go juniors. This is why he didn't get Matt Niskanen (who wanted to be a Gopher) and you can look at Lucia's son left early to play juniors. But I am sure Lucia is filling Forney full of lies because that is why he is such a great recruiter, he tells these kids what they want to hear and makes promises he doesn't keep, unless your the leading scorer.

That is probably a future gopher Defensemen. They learn at a young age how to read the numbers on the backs of Sioux jerseys.

Dont forget Murray Baron, Rick Zombo and Geoff Smith. Speaking of Ballard, I wonder If Bochenski will light him up at this level too. Remember the final 5 a couple years ago.

His dad played a year at UMD and is very involved in the UMD blue line club, but I heard the kid likes Minnesota too. Get a kid here on a visit and UND will always have a chance.

Yes, In Canada you can't leave your home province to play juniors until you graduate High School.

I heard that Jeff Dubay and Mike Gentzel talk all the time. If you tell one big mouth like him, he can spread info faster than anyone. He is probably on the Goferboard too. Our coaches keep quiet which is good. no one knew that they offered Mario a scholly and he is from Grand Forks (until it came out from Red Deer, the team trying to get him in the WHL). It keep things less complicated. Minnesota acts like if they get a recruit it counts in the win column. Then when a player like Boechenski committed to UND they said they pulled there offer. They are all about showing off and bragging. I like our coaches low key approach. by the way Forney will play hockey in TRF this winter, I heard they are saying he will goto Sioux Falls after the Football season.

You dont know the facts, dont come out and say we are behind. Our coaches keep things quiet about recruits. You will see in the future.

Hopefully the new management will try and create more of an atmosphere in the REA. Gas the terrible 70's music. They have to decide when the Band plays and when to play music. They can't be in competition with each other. The Band was GREAT in Colombus, hopefully bringing them down to main level will create more noise (which I am sure the Suite holders will complain about). We should try have all the fans were Green shirts one night and White the next night. Did anyone see Nebraska football? it was like the Red Sea. We could look like the old Winnipeg Jets games. Start a tradition to encourage the entire crowd to sing the National Anthem. I wonder if their goalie is related to Jonathan Toews. I remember he played against the Sioux last year and I wondered the same thing. 6-0, Zajac and Stafford will rip it up and the Freshmen will shine. Remember Staffords goal last year, wow that was awesome.

I am a Beatty fan. I believe he can carry the load. I am no great football mind, but I think he has looked the best of all running backs so far.
