That is so wrong. Commie, Matt Greene, Smaby (to name a few) all tunred down good deals because they were so dedicated to the program. People don't realize it, but I know for a fact that these 3 were pursued really hard by the NHL teams who had their rights.

Kessel is so gone. If he doesn't sign with the Bruins, I bet he plays in the CHL. Every thing you read on him sounds like he has no intentions of going back to Minnesota.

In all the articles I have read they keep worrying about haveing enough players for next year. They have about 210 guys committed, they dont need to worry about numbers. Wisconsin has lost 5 seniors and now 2 underclassmen. Only one of those guys was a Defensmen (Gilbert) but they have about 9 incomeing freshmen includeing 3 defensemen. This doesn't add up. They must of expected to lose a couple more guys.

At www.bostonherald.com the Bruins assistant G.M. said the final decision on Kessel has not been made. The article goes on to say that they question Kessels fitness and Maturity and maybe another year of school will help him.

Hockey Futures has Florida's 2006 draft review. Nice piece about Derrick Lapiont. I think he was a big pick up. Probably a late bloomer with a lot of potential. These are better players to pick up, unlike Wisconsin who gets commitments from the best 15 year olds and they don't know how good they will be 3 years later or if they will ever play for them.

Gopher fans will think were really picking on PK if they look into Boyds background. Bottom line is they ask tough questions to all the players. They play all them psychological games.

Last years Sioux team probably had more 1st round draft picks then this years Blackhawks and Bruins.

Since the Wild are not coming here to play next year lets bring the Blackhawks in and have them play the Sioux. Then they will see if were going to struggle. It would probably be an even game if we had Toews. I guess they would rather have him Struggle on the worst team in the NHL that would be a great confidence booster.

All I can say is looking at the Hawks roster and the fact they are not signing any free agents, Boy they are going to be Horrible. They should be a lock for the 1st pick in next years draft. with the exception of a few players they are an AHL team playing in the NHL. Its scary because it looks like they need Toews just to fill out their roster.

Yes, but we were replacing those guys with top end talent. This year's recruiting class does not have that star power. Some of the guys may develop into good college players, but I don't think any of the incoming freshman are going to put up huge numbers as a freshman. There is no one on the roster that can fill the shoes of Toews. If he leaves the only dominant forward we have is Oshie. Compare that to last year's team and the depth is just not there.

Lee Marvin played in the USHL when he was in 11th grade. Aaron Marvin scored only 9 goals when he was in grade 11. I think thats what some people are saying when they say Lee was better at his age than Aaron is now. Jordy can't make a USHL team (although it looks like he has a good chance to make Sioux Falls this year). St Cloud is takeing a BIG chance on these guys because they are unproven at the next level. UND is still getting the best local talent just look at Lee, Oshie, Vandevelde and Forney. Hopefully Mario is next.

At least Daigle could make money as a model when his hockey career didn't work. If Kessel doesn't make it I doubt he will get a job in modeling or communications.

hockey makes the university big money and can support its 18 scholarships unlike other sports. Also I remember a player once saying he took the college route over CHL because it would be easier to come back and finish 1 or 2 years of school, rather than starting from scratch. Just look at guys like Brad Berry, Scott Sandelin, Lee Davidson, and Dave Hakstol (to name a few). None of those guys finished their degree when they were here, but they all came back and look at how successful they are now. I can see both Parise's, Greene, Smaby, Stafford and Commie all finishing their degree's at some point. You can also tell how intelligent Toews is and he to will get his degree too. Ryan Miller took online classes From Michigan State while playing in the NHL.
