It's getting close so its time to start talking about the World Junior tourney. How cool will it be to see the #1 and 2 picks in last years NHL draft (the 2 Russians) and see Sidney Crosby and the Loaded team Canada. Best of all go out and support the home team and finally getting to chant in person: USA USA USA, rootin for Drew and the rest of USA. Will Zajac get picked by Canada, that would be great. A couple questions, When the Sioux play USA and score, do we give Montoya the Sieve chant. After all he does play for Michigan, but yet team USA. Speaking of goalies they should add Lammy, he would be as good as any of the other backups. I hope when they announce Drew Stafford no one says "Whos he, he sucks" he will only play vs. UND 1 time and Only Duluth fans would do that to their home team. Cant wait, Im pulling for USA, but if they dont do it, I hope Canada does. The Russians and Finns are suppose to be good, but if its not us, I will pull for our neighbors to the north.

I know this is before 2000, but Scott Kirton ruled. He was the toughest guy, he could score some goals, always gave 100% and he partied with the best of them

For sure its harder to win the WCHA league race. Just look at last year. Denver didnt make it to the final five, they were 13-10-5 in the wcha and they really had no business even being in the Ncaa playoffs(two years ago they wouldn't have been in). I still have a hard time accepting it. Zack, Bo, Dean and the rest of team deserved the championship more then they did(look what we did to them in the regular season). All they did was win 4 games by flipping the puck out to center ice. I do think Denver is a lot better team this year. Sorry about going off, but if BC, Maine, or Minn-Duluth, Michigan would of won they would of deserved it because along with UND they had championship seasons. I know I am really crying now, but its to bad we could do best of 3 series. They did that in the early 90's. The better team got home Ice for all games. Well with Denver winning I guess it gives every team hope not to quit on the season, just try make it in the playoffs and see what happens. But yes, the NCAA championship is most prestigious.

If Jordy Christian goes down to the fourth line i think that stinks. My reason is because he is a player that has went grew through the moorhead youth program and he may lose his spot to a tranfer. That is the reason I HATE tranfers, is because it takes a locals spot away. Even if its not Jordy who loses his spot someone will. I thought a great program like Moorhead wouldn't need transfers.

"Defense wins Championships" It seems that every year for the last 10 years, we play a team that is supposed to be unstoppable. When NDSUcks had Lamar Gordon, he only gained over 100 yards once in 4 years. 2001 Pitt state was averageing close to 500 yards a game, they left -19 yards rushing. UCDavis was suppose to be unstoppable and then Grand Valley State (who in 2001 had the best D2 offense I have ever seen) was suppose to unstoppable. Do you people see a trend here. All them teams and others were suppose to light us up by scoring 35 and did anyone ever get more then 2 td's on us. Our Defense RULZ. We are the Baltimore Ravens of D2. This doesnt mean we will beat Pitt State because we may not get enough Offense, but they wont light us up, I dont care how good they are especially if they bring that Veer junk. Are D was specifically designed to stop the Veer, so we could beat NDSU. So memo to Pitt State you better try and pass a lot, cause if you try run you will be in the negatives again. Grand Valley had a great run. They are a great program and hopefully we play again in the future. Hope their fans had a great time in Grand Forks and hoped they enjoyed the Alerus. And I hope they had a safe ride home. It was a great game either team could have won.

Maybe Coach Lennon is playing mind games with Grand Valley on who to prepare for.

I bet it comes down to the wire, maybe a Glas field goal attempt. My prediction UND 17 Grand Valley Dairy 14

I can't wait. I bet when the brackets were announced every Sioux Fan and Grand Valley fan thought that this could happen. I think Sioux fans felt if they could get by St. Cloud they would beat Tech for sure. This will be the most anticipated game ever at the Alerus center. Not that the last regional championships weren't, but Grand Valley is becoming our National rival, like Boston College in hockey. I hope people will be hanging from the rafters. Hopefully the students stay in town and support the boys. You have Chritsmas Vacation coming soon enough, we need you Sioux Crew.

Just wondering if Cameron Peterka (sorry if spelled wrong) still plays. He has to be as good as that thing the Viks had kicking off yesterday. Does anyone know if he still plays or did he ever try out for the Viks. I thought a couple years ago he tried out as their Field goal kicker. Anyways, if I was him I would take a dozen balls and go sit in front of Mike Tice's house and kick balls down his street and try get a tryout. That truck driver dude was awful. Maybe Tice should take the Junior High approach and have every guy on the team kick a ball and pick a new kick off guy.

It's great being a Sioux fan, because there is such a huge diehard following. Weather you go on hockey, football or basketball trips UND always has fan support. I think if you compare UND to other D-2 schools the same size like Duluth, St. Cloud, Makato or NDSU, you'll find we have a bigger following on the road. Not saying fans are better, just saying we have a huge following. You can go to the East coast for hockey or Colorado, there is always a big group of Sioux supporters. For Sioux fans its normal, but in places like Mankato and St. Cloud people get impressed by the turnout. I guy in St. Cloud told me he thought he was in Grand Forks. And I guess they dont tailgate in St. Cloud either (except Sioux fans)

Wouldnt it be great if the Sioux and Grand Valley meet in the regional Championship at the Al.
