  1. From MoreSiouxForYou: Say what you will but at least the WCHA officials being consistant on the "Intent to Blow" (calls). Fixed your post....
  2. Man, to have those 2 points stolen in Duluth due to bad officials missing the dead puck out of the netting, plus the disallowed goal costing the CC game to be a loss not a tie for another possible point. 2 or 3 points (earned but not creditied) would REALLY look nice now....
  3. The worst part about selecting seats was doing it with no availability to check out sight lines. My first two were chosen off a seating chart, and the actual seat position was NOT where the chart showed it. The second pair I chose 3 years later with the arena built, and you could go look at the view before selecting. Wow what a difference. Things I would consider: -aisle seats for personal egress (if you need to leave town, easier to get going, but more getting up for others) -get above the glass? (often less distortion, especially in corners) -get kids away from students chants? (profanity) -home end? (shoot twice) -going with friends to get a group of seats (share/trade tix if you want to sit with other friends once in a while) -parking (I really like parking at arena, so am glad to donate enough to get parking pass eligible) Thats what I can say off the top.
  4. Heard about this from a conversation with a friend recently (second hand info- consider that): He stated that if you were willing to risk the "go to trial" option for DUI, you have a chance to get out of the charge due to the fact that the ND state toxicology lab is the single place the legal testing is done, and the lab is not staffed with enough techs to have every DUI case attended by Bismarck employee (at state expense too) and still do all the rest of the labs work. So, you gamble that the tech will not be allowed to attend the trial, thus "no expert produced" and blood alcohol level (most accurate) thus not admissable. Then the attorney blasts the field/breath tests, and voila- not able to determine guilt. Would not try this if I lived in Bismarck.....
  5. Well I bought 2 tix for the Saturday night game, but my travel partner made other plans since. I can't get off work for Friday game, so Sat- down and back from Fargo area- was the plan. So I need to find another travel partner for Sat, or unload 2 tix...
  6. A bit off topic, but during Sioux broadcast: At the first intermission on the radio, a USCHO guy (forgot his name) was talking about the WCHA teams overall. Towards the end he called the Gophers "a lower tier team" with Tech!!! Really, just how far have they fallen....also losing to Mankato 3-1 tonight at Maryucchi BTW. --back to topic....
  7. Just an aside, but all I can remember about Hunter Bishop after this game was the goalie spray and "tough guy" pose after one of Eidsness's saves, standing in the crease well after the whistle. Not much of a highlight night for him it appears....
  8. To Bob in Wisconsin: Run with the dasher-dancing-Queen all you want. It will make my day....
  9. I can hardly wait until next year's games: To see Gwoz "dasher dance" on the big screen, and maybe to that ABBA song (now in 'Mama Mia')- "Dancing Queen" playing along with it. To the Big Screen Gods: Please make my dream come true. He is such a pompous hippocrit, it would be good for him to be humbled a bit.
  10. I saw the live chicken that night many years ago. That was the greatest stunt I have ever witnessed. Thanks for that act then and memory now!
  11. It is not UND vs NDSU, but still on topic to this thread... How about this press release (yet to be picked up in local papers): In rankings released Aug. 22, the U.S. News and World Report edition of "Best Colleges 2009" includes Jamestown College as one of the top tier baccalaureate colleges in the Midwest region. Jamestown College is again the only North Dakota college or university to achieve top-tier status in their rankings. The U.S. News "Best Colleges" is the most recognized and popular of all college rankings. The report evaluates colleges and universities annually by assessing criteria such as peer assessment, graduation rate, student/faculty ratios, class size and student testing scores. "For the second time, Jamestown College has been ranked in the top tier category; once again, we are the only college or university in North Dakota to achieve such a distinction," says Jamestown College President Robert S. Badal. "We have always been known for the quality of our academic experience and for the success of our graduates, and this honor reinforces that reputation." In addition to being named to "2009 Best Colleges" by U.S. News and World Report, Jamestown College has recently been named a "Best in the Midwest" college once again by Princeton Review.
  12. There has got to be more reasons to stay than leave, but just for discussion think about changing to the CHA for a minute. Reasons that would be for this: -help save the CHA conference from folding (would need another one to join too) -(almost) guaranteed NCAA appearance as conference winner -escape the horrendous WCHA referee situation (this may be the best reason) -guarantee better PWR rating with higher winning record, no advantage to schedule strength now Reasons to stay: -better competition (but more losses in PWR calculations) -traditional rivalries -travel cost savings -we dominate now, why think it won't continue Thoughts?
  13. Quote yzerman19: As much as I blast the Gophers and old Delta Don, you can not question the program, tradition or coach. The Gophers and Don Lucia are top tier. I would agree with this quote, the program is top tier. This blast on Lucia may have a lot of implications. How do you suppose a young recruit will look at their program now with this kind of press, correct or not, especially compared to great press comments about UND and its coaches this past year? This could really be harmful to the Gophs for a while......
  14. from siounami: LaPoint gets his first goal from 2 cm out. The anti-Bina... That is a Brilliant quote! Thanks! p.s. Thanks to Duncan for sacrificing the hat trick for LaPoint...
  15. Key word might be academics.
  16. Only went there once. If you are claustrophobic, don't. The cart to the top holds 4 and looks big enough for 1, maybe 2. VERY tight, and rocks and sways all the way up too. At the top, you get a sight line of St. Loius, which I knew nothing about (agree, yawn). But the small area was a great place to watch "bend overs" as all windows viewing require it. (admitted, this could be good or bad, depending on who is there bending).
  17. FYI. My tickets came yesterday (9-12-06) but with no parking pass. Called the ticket office today, they say the passes were not back from the printer yet. They will be mailed out separately when they arrive.
  18. My son plays hockey about 10 months of the year. He also plays soccer about 8 months a year. Notice the intersect? While walleye fishing USED to be my favorite summer sport, now it is travel to soccer/hockey all summer long and watching skilled kids grow in those sports. Would not trade it for anything.
  19. I will take any one of the few that are left, if still available. Signed too would be great if possible. Prefer #6 if open, anyone else if not.
  20. You may be making a mistake in not going. I took 4 boys up last night, they used my 4 seats. I bought an extra ticket at the window, expecting a "Bob Ucker" (nosebleed) seat. With spring break, I was placed 3 rows up from the scorers table, at the red line. Wow. Next to the 108 students (who were LOUD and GREAT). Right in front of the band. It was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced there (tickets since it opened in '01). Think again, and go for it!
  21. Wow. It is not hockey, but I sent the link to my whole address book. Thanks.
  22. It is now 5-4 with 3 minutes to go......
