  1. Did you notice the Yale-UMass refs were our own (inconsistent) Lil Shep (Brad) and Anderson? They were in Yale-favored swallow-the-whistle mode late, after calling several minor incidents early. Yale really responded to the allowed physical side, but UMass did/could not figure it out.
  2. As my buddy texted me earlier: Minnesota (and Wisco) from the corner of "One and Done"
  3. Let's roll up George and the Gwozettes both nights boys ..
  4. BC has a player suspended before the Merrimack loss Friday: http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2013/02/15_bcs_hayes_suspended_indefinitely.php
  5. Were those tears of "emotion" or tears from the "quality" (or lack thereof) of the singing voices of those players? Ouch. I also cannot sing, but hopefully not that badly. Still it was classy to sing for the ceremony (but don't change day jobs boys ...)
  6. Just back home from the game. Wow were we outhustled tonight, over and over. We score 4 goals out of sheer talent. They score 4 out of great hustle and team play. Did not see that coming. I hate watching my team not skate, not hit, and stick out the stick instead of hustle... The no call on Rocco getting boarded was hard to swallow. Not even a 2! But when there were also no calls for the puppy dog dives toward the end- might have made up for it. The team really has to stop playing like gophers- with "my talent will win the day effort". We should be outworking every team with the depth we have. They CAN do it, as we've seen several prior Fridays. Lets hope we see it Saturday, and from now on.
  7. Would anyone have a DVD of this game to share? My cousin had to go to Illinois due to mother-in-law near terminal from cancer issues and missed the game. He asked if I could find a copy to see this great comeback. PM me if possible. Thanks.
  8. Bemidji wins 5-4
  9. Beavers score early in 3rd for 5-4 lead now..
  10. Looks like Wisco would win tie breaker if AA-Bemidji end in a tie tonight. Same total points but Wizzco won 2 vs Bemidji and has 1 more overall win too (if it is a tie). Bemidji needs to win to go to UND if I read this correctly.
  11. Anyone see the first Sioux goal closely? We were on the other end of the rink, and I was sure someone (Sioux) was standing in the crease when the puck went out and back in to score. Tech coaches wanted a review, but even after discussion refs did NOT review it, just counted it. Any explanation why it as not waved off?
  12. Did a little "local paper" research on Russian Red team: Alexandria Blizzard game: Russians got up 4-0 by 2nd. Then when game at 4-1, Zabornikov gets 5 min major/ejection for "fighting with taped hand". During 5 min PP, Russians score a shortie for a 5-1 final. Bismarck Bobcats game: Bismarck goes up 2-0 by 2nd. Russians score to go 2-1. Russians really pressed in 3rd period, and "scored" at 0:54 left (light went on) but goal disallowed by refs who "lost sight before it crossed". Zabornikov was fighter again.. Yatsenkov ejected for butt-ending. Vs. UND it was Orlov ejected at end of 2nd (unsportsmanlike- after whistle hit). So in 3 games, 3 different Russian players ejected.. Might be a game plan idea for future opponents...
  13. BU crushed BC 5-0 this afternoon, great puck luck, PP, PK, even a shortie. First BU shutout on BC in many years. Announcers said BC leads nation in penalty minutes this year, and is their weakness. That means all 5 of the top 5 teams lost at least 1 game this weekend....
  14. Findland's Mikael Granlund scores in semi final of the World Chamionships last night with a Trupper like move lifting puck onto stick for a "top shelf" wraparound goal. Turns out to be the game winner too. Here is a link: http://watch.tsn.ca/featured/clip466646#clip466898 (Its from www.tsn.ca if that link doesnt work) Story link is here: http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/story/?id=365634# It is sweet to see!
  15. I agree with him about the ND hospital comments, a bit of humor in a poor call by ER doc. I also took my son to Altru after a "shoulder" injury at a Youth camp by Blais/Sioux a few years ago. He separated his clavicle-sternal joint, could not move his arm, I am an MD and saw the xrays myself. The ER doc told me he fractured his clavicle (what he pointed out was the posterior rib crossing an anterior one, not a fracture). The quick and incorrect opinion really left me scared for people who need to use this facility... Jesse having the same experience in a much more serious injury really brings this back to me. Not proud moments for ND ER care....
  16. ]Duluth was beaten 5-4 tonight by Denver. AND LOST IN OT!!! First OT loss this year, and at home.
  17. Love the idea posted in comments: Gophers have mistaken this part of the season as the "Frozen FORE" Must be out on a Minneapolis links now.....
  18. From MoreSiouxForYou: Say what you will but at least the WCHA officials being consistant on the "Intent to Blow" (calls). Fixed your post....
  19. Man, to have those 2 points stolen in Duluth due to bad officials missing the dead puck out of the netting, plus the disallowed goal costing the CC game to be a loss not a tie for another possible point. 2 or 3 points (earned but not creditied) would REALLY look nice now....
  20. The worst part about selecting seats was doing it with no availability to check out sight lines. My first two were chosen off a seating chart, and the actual seat position was NOT where the chart showed it. The second pair I chose 3 years later with the arena built, and you could go look at the view before selecting. Wow what a difference. Things I would consider: -aisle seats for personal egress (if you need to leave town, easier to get going, but more getting up for others) -get above the glass? (often less distortion, especially in corners) -get kids away from students chants? (profanity) -home end? (shoot twice) -going with friends to get a group of seats (share/trade tix if you want to sit with other friends once in a while) -parking (I really like parking at arena, so am glad to donate enough to get parking pass eligible) Thats what I can say off the top.
  21. Heard about this from a conversation with a friend recently (second hand info- consider that): He stated that if you were willing to risk the "go to trial" option for DUI, you have a chance to get out of the charge due to the fact that the ND state toxicology lab is the single place the legal testing is done, and the lab is not staffed with enough techs to have every DUI case attended by Bismarck employee (at state expense too) and still do all the rest of the labs work. So, you gamble that the tech will not be allowed to attend the trial, thus "no expert produced" and blood alcohol level (most accurate) thus not admissable. Then the attorney blasts the field/breath tests, and voila- not able to determine guilt. Would not try this if I lived in Bismarck.....
  22. Well I bought 2 tix for the Saturday night game, but my travel partner made other plans since. I can't get off work for Friday game, so Sat- down and back from Fargo area- was the plan. So I need to find another travel partner for Sat, or unload 2 tix...
  23. A bit off topic, but during Sioux broadcast: At the first intermission on the radio, a USCHO guy (forgot his name) was talking about the WCHA teams overall. Towards the end he called the Gophers "a lower tier team" with Tech!!! Really, just how far have they fallen....also losing to Mankato 3-1 tonight at Maryucchi BTW. --back to topic....
  24. Just an aside, but all I can remember about Hunter Bishop after this game was the goalie spray and "tough guy" pose after one of Eidsness's saves, standing in the crease well after the whistle. Not much of a highlight night for him it appears....
  25. To Bob in Wisconsin: Run with the dasher-dancing-Queen all you want. It will make my day....
