I like Fighting Norse, but find it a little to easy for someone to morph it into something I wouldn't like....... The Fighting Nurse,........ Nurses with Purses... etc. Warriors of the North or Northern Warriors would be less likely to be bastardized. Edit: For the record, I am not attempting to denigrate the nursing profession or anyone in that profession, male or female. I just know how a certain fan base loves to make fun of UND even though they are "over UND" and supposedly don't care.

Warriors of the North would fit in nicely with the Pride of the North marching band.

I changed lanes and got around her to see that she had a cigarette in her left hand hanging out the window and the phone in her right hand. She must have been knee driving. This was on a road similar in traffic volume to 32nd Ave.

Trying to put some lipstick on a pig here...... 6 home games is more than the Sioux have had in a while. Cal Poly for Homecoming is a good thing. I would think you would have more attendance for Cal Poly for HC than Montana Western. Is there a problem with 1:00 games? With the Big Sky scheduling structure unknown, i'm sure it is difficult to schedule anyone on a return game at this point. WIth that in mind you are going to have to pay someone to come in, with no promise of a return visit. I'm sure there was some cost analysis in play here. How much would it cost to bring in some better quality opponents vs the expected revenue from that opponent. Does the pig look any better??

That's what I did last month. I got to go to Boosters on Friday afternoon, a WBB game on Friday night, hockey on Friday and Saturday nights, tailgating and football on Saturday. Doesn't get much better that that.

Yuck! Thankfully this is the last year of this crap.

Better than "We lost to Mayville again this year".

That was the point of the comparison that I was attempting to make. I've read a lot of comments about the lack of progress in MBB. Sure it's just one game, but the Sioux played markedly better against Mayville this year than last. I'm not saying that Mayville is the gold standard to be met, just a point of measure along the way.

Sioux win 74-57. I got to see parts of the game and saw some good things, but also saw some bad (turn-overs and missed layups). Wish I would have been able to see the whole thing. Wish I would have been able to see it live. For those who are saying the Sioux aren't making progress from last year... The Sioux lost to Mayville by 12 last year and won by 17 this year. Progress. Keep it going guys. Go Sioux!!

Read the full title of the Topic..... "Conference Realignments Nationwide..........not just Big Sky" Most of us don't need any convincing. UND wanted the Big Sky and got it.

And remember with the exception of MSP, most of the alumni base is west not east. Sioux hockey enjoys a nice crowd while playing in Denver. Sioux football will likely have the same effect in Greeley. A very large alumni base in AZ for the Northern Arizona games. CA, OR and WA all have big alumni numbers. This isn't just about getting the fans from ND and MN to see games in person, the alumni will have access that they never had before with the televised and webcast as well as the live games near them.

With the retirement of the Fighting Sioux name next year, has there been any thought to changing SiouxSports.com name?

I disagree. The Sioux lost this game last year. They need to play it to find out where they are compared to last year. It may also help to get these young guys some confidence. When the Sioux enter the Big Sky, this may be a game to drop. GO SIOUX!!!
