Ahhh, island living. The warm balmy breezes, the sun, the pina coladas, the big beautiful sky.... Big Sky. Douple was saved by Patty V. Douple can't find his butt with both hands. How could Fullerton make USD/UND a package when USD was already committed to the Summit? I'm thankful that they weren't packaged. UND may truly have been on an island, an independent island.

Not to douse your Missouri Valley hopes, but that conference seems to be one of the most stable in the nation. They have had the same 10 members for over 15 years. Evansville was the last to join in 1994. I don't see any movement there. Besides, like UND, NDSU isn't really in the footprint of some of these conferences. Obviously, the Montana schools are going to "the" games to see, but Poly and Davis are going to be games to look forward to.
-
IF, NDSU was to inquire about Big Sky, UND would likely do anything possible to assist in getting them in.
-
This can't be true. There are a couple of NDSU and SDSU fans blowing up every message board in the country claiming Montana is gone. The Big Sky just got a whole lot less cloudy. This can't be true either... because I keep reading otherwise.

What is going to happen to Idaho? There was some speculation (perhaps wishfully) that they may move back to FCS and Big Sky.

I talked to a contractor on Saturday who said he has 5 construction projects at GFAFB. Good news for the local economy.

I can't say that I disagree with a single thing you wrote...... Rats! I agree and am hopeful that they stay.

Kids show their stuff(s) Shane Benton of Linn-Mar soars in for a dunk Friday night during the CRANDIC dunk and 3-point contest at Cedar Rapids Jefferson. Benton won the event.

If you knew what I was talking about, why were we discussing going to Europe through Detroit? Not all of UND's teams need to charter. For example when I flew out of Grand Forks on Sunday, the NJIT volleyball team was on the same flight. They didn't charter. I would think that the only team that would be "charter only" would be the football team. Maybe I'm wrong. The remainder of the teams, such as the volleyball team, would be flying commercial. Wouldn't it be faster and likely cheaper to go through SLC than MSP. That was the premise of this topic to start with.

Always with the negative waves Moriarty, I mean Dan.

Go back to my first post on this topic and you will see why I'm talking about SLC. The Sioux are not playing in South America, the Caribbean, etc...
-
You may not reduce the number of stops, but the hours are significantly reduced by going thru SLC rather than MSP. I chose Missoula and Spokane for a test flight and the time was cut at least 2 hours each way. Detroit? Why would one want to go that far east to travel to Spokane, Missoula, Bozeman?

If this can be believed..... President Makes Huge Mistake Montana to stay in Big Sky!!
-
I have heard both the 12,283 and 13,500 number. I think the 12,283 is without the suites and the SRO (the areas behind the end zones) and the 13,500 includes the suites/SRO.

Griz begin crucial season-ending homestand If the Sioux could hang their hat on this..... it would be a close game. Playing for pride. Playing for the future. Go Sioux.

Grand Forks Air Force Base leader: ‘It’s coming, it’s on time’ Great news for the Grand Forks area.

Some of you may have already seen this. It put a smile on my face...

At Boosters last Friday, Hakstol gave his opinion on what UND should do in the short term with the name. He said for the next couple of years go with "North Dakota".

With UND joining the Big Sky and the new GFK terminal coming on line soon, I wonder what the possibilities are for Delta to provide service between Grand Forks and Salt Lake City. SLC seems to be the hub for a lot of the Big Sky schools.

I don't remember Hardin touching the ball in the first half. Hendrickson gets in and Hardin is his first target. I doubt that he gotten even a fraction of the reps with the first team offense that Landry/Goska had this year. Goska has proven to be one dimensional. I'm hoping that Hendrickson's overthrows were more to do with nerves from a first time and the adrenaline that goes along with it. We'll see next week. Go Sioux!!

I talked to some people during tailgating about the lack of attendance. They said that the students don't come when the team is not playing well. There is nothing for them to get excited about. Fair weather/Bandwagon, whatever you want to call it.

I sat behind a guy who was here from California. He is UC-Davis grad student who cheers for Sac State and just happened to be in GF for the game. He turned around at halftime and asked me "what's wrong with your coach? He seems to coach 'not to lose'". He pointed out the fourth and short and the running the clock at the half. Then the Sioux score a TD in second half and don't go for 2. What's up with that? Something is seriously wrong in the secondary. Is anyone coaching these guys? They seem out of position waaaay to often. Hendrickson moved the team, Goska doesn't. I listened to Mussman at Boosters and says all of the right things you want a coach to say, but I just don't think he should be head coach. Time for a regime change. The band was great.

Here is another place to go to get budget numbers. The most recent they have is from 2008-2009. They aren't broken down by sport, but there is a lot of info there.
