Right, remember we all hate the gophers! Just went super slowed down on the play because I'm being unproductive at work on a Friday after I was at Scheels until midnight yesterday. (my boss reads the forum and now knows this now as well....) As Chesley or however you spell it is crossing over his right foot is in the air and coming down the exact moment the UMASS player tries to sweep check the puck. The stick gets him on the toe of the boot enough that it causes him to lose his edge and go down. Anyone who has skated knows that there are times where you step on a blade or a piece of tape or a screw on the ice and you take your spill wondering WTF just happened. This did not cost Minnesota the game. Mr. NIL not picking up his guy defensively and the gophers watching UMASS outwork them cost them that game.

Did he ever apologize for calling a Minnesota kid a "Hose Head"? I'm guessing not. And at a place like the U of M people have lost their jobs for less hurtful things said publicly....

Doesn't change the outcome, but my opinion is it was a penalty. If you watch his stick you can see the moment that it hits his leg and rattles or whatever word you want to use for it. Just one guy's opinion obviously. Happy we are talking about the gophers losing during the NCAA tournament! (Wish our team was there.....)

Two good games. Thanks for the tickets @Oxbow6, much appreciated. The way Minnesota played in the second period I thought they'd win 5-1. I can't believe Bob didn't call timeout to settle the troops down a bit. Wouldn't have been enough time for the fix, but it would've given the backup time to stretch at least. Snuggy is tremendous with the puck, his play away from it defensively cost Minnesota on the rush after the no call. My opinion doesn't count, but I think it was a penalty.

I don't think he is the guy, but the success he's had with what he has to work with on that campus can't be understated. Someone already said it, but in ten years there may not be an SCSU hockey team with their budget issues.
