  1. Use the momentum now.
  2. Good start. Keeping F3 super high to prevent the transition nonsense. @brianvf attendance estimate?
  3. With the weather being what it is we may have a smaller than normal crowd this evening at REA. Road closure up to the border, and numerous activities around the state being called off as we speak.
  4. Central proved again that they are the top team in the state. Its going to take a goaltending performance for someone to knock them off at the state tournament this year. I watched bits and pieces of Sheyenne and Davies. Not often do you score shorthanded on a 5-3 PK, but Sheyenne did. And they blocked a number of shots on the PK, as they were shorthanded a lot during the game. Big win for Bottineau at the lumber dome. Gives Jamestown a path to possibly getting the 3 seed at the WDA tournament.
  5. I forgot about him. Playing top four minutes in the USHL for Cedar Rapids. Has one more year of junior eligibility, but I think he's adjusted well to the jump in leagues. Loved watching his dad play at UND.
  6. Massen and Fylling. Jeff Bredahl loved pointing them out on TV, as he was a western ND kid too.
  7. Seems like getting Western ND kids isn't even an option any more. They've absolutely missed on a couple. Morelli, Rauhauser, Nehring....just to name a few. The next one is Colin Grubb from Minot who is currently on Shattuck's 16U team with 44 points in 38 games with only 8 minutes in the box as a center. Got a chance to make the NTDP next year with teammates Soller and Fitzhenry.
  8. I think it was mostly a case of little brother following big brother. As soon as Grant went portal at Northern Michigan, Hammer was right behind him. Grant didn't light it up right away in the USHL until he got into his third year, and by then he had already committed to Potulny. I can't imagine being Warroad kids that UND didn't at least put a call out when Grant went into the portal, but I don't know.
  9. Word of the day today at the press conference was "resiliency. Getting Saturday's game to OT and then winning in OT a big deal around these parts nowadays. I'd imagine a win Friday would vault us to maybe 17 in the PWR. Would a sweep perhaps put us in the top 15?
  10. Packers are playing like a different team now. I'll still pick Central, but I don't think it will be 9-2.
  11. Packers and Central on Thursday should be fantastic.
  12. Former Jay's player who works for me has a brother on the team and was watching the game extremely closely this evening. Can't take the Jay pride out of a kid.
  13. If you've played hockey in North Dakota the last 25 years in Minot you have a Carton story. I played some men's league with him many years ago, nice guy, has his moments as an official.
  14. Nope, bigger guy, gotta be in his 50's by now. I think he's been officiating in Minot for 30 plus years.
  15. Is KOC just trying to only lose by three scores here? Come on....
  16. And now ESPN steals my thunder...
  17. 21 consecutive drives without a TD for the Vikings.
  18. At least these last two games are making it easy to let Sam go and go with JJ.
  19. The last two weeks KOC has been an atrocious. Give the play calling to someone else Kevin. Mullens has to start the 2nd half. Has too.
  20. Haven't scored a TD in how many drives?
  21. Nothing ever surprises me with the magi. Like you said, they could go undefeated, but they could also bow out right away at the state tournament. As wide open as the EDC is this year they could be playing Red River, GFC, West Fargo High School in the first round of the state tournament if they don't win the WDA tournament this year. Minot has never won the ship when all eyes have been on them. Both times came when I least expected it.
  22. I watched, looks like Davies got in some penalty trouble. I saw that ND legend Andy Carton was officiating as well. Always loved that guy.
  23. I was wondering why nobody had offered insight yet, but I had no idea that Bubba/Armacost/Chaves saga had infiltrated into the ASU series page. The football only folks get pissed when hockey gets brought up in those threads, this has got to be progress on that front right? Series split. We win Friday, then Hammer wins Saturday and we all complain that the GOBC didn't reel him in after his dad played here.
  24. Green Bay losing officially dooms the Vikings to Detroit or Philly if (and that's a big time if) they win. I'll pretend that the Bucs knock off the young Commanders. Back to Detroit. I cant imagine the Vikings taking the road to the super bowl. Just no way.....
  25. Two points in the valley of the Sun....could've been worse, could've been better. At the present time UND is 19th in the PWR, and tied for first in the all important league standings. In comes highly ranked Western that could give us a boost with wins at home. You probably aren't going to beat them without a #fullsixty. After Saturday I'd assume Hedquist in the net on Friday and we go from there. They'll likely go Rowe-Hammer like they have most of the year. I'll be happy with 4 points. Two regulation wins not likely with how this group has played this year, but I'd be okay with being surprised.
