  1. Ohh man. Thats a good one for Verhoeff in the film room.
  2. Thats soft....come on....
  3. Thats an unnecessary one. Spent the first period fighting ourselves a bit. I think both goalies are a bit rattled. Could end up 7-6. Or....6-7....
  4. That can't be a goal if you're Airey.
  5. 100%. Settled them down a bit. Can't cheat changes against Minnesota.
  6. Late on the change and its 1-0. Homer was where he wanted to be, just got beat.
  7. @Oxbow6 attendance estimate?
  8. 2-0 Sparty, and Omac has successfully blown 2 grade A chances. Boisvert just gave a Spartan a breakaway.
  9. I predict Cohen's lips square on Bucci's ass all night long...... Game wise I'll say 2-1 Sparty.
  10. If we lose tonight it only makes sense to start the "Axe Jax" thread.
  11. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't feel great about this evening. Got a 3-2 Minnesota type vibe. Its a long season, but tonight will say a lot about the new regime. Can the kids handle the moment?
  12. Imagine not giving credit to Wisconsin for yet another Big Ten non conference shootout victory....
  13. With Grubb being a Shattuck kid I check in on their prep team quite a bit, and a name that pops out is Ethan Sung. As a 2009 birth year he's second on the prep team in points through nine games and leads the team in goals scored. Grubb is a 2009 as well, but an April birthday makes Grubb a Junior school wise, while Sung is an August birthday so therefore a Sophomore academically. Hopefully Grubb can get him on board and that traitor Hale kid stays away from him. 😆
  14. Love the bizen guy on twitter knocking UND being ranked for who they've played. They were the better team against the grizz and should've beaten k-state, both those games on the road in tough environments. I'm glad (Used to hate it honestly) that UND scheduled some decent non conference opponents because playing teams like Drake, Valpo, Mississippi Valley State to begin the season sucks. They do nothing other than fill a date, and the football is terrible. I think the FCS should figure out a way to get more FBS games for their blue bloods or maybe a better word is top-tier teams (NDSU, SDSU, Montana, Montana State etc.) I've enjoyed our kids competing in places like Lincoln, Boise, Manhattan, Seattle. Iowa will be fun in two years as well. The way it stands now a legitimate team in the FCS like SDSU won't play more than one FBS team annually because if they scheduled two games, lost both, and lost at the Fargodome they are on the road the entire playoffs, or run the risk of missing the playoffs with another loss, then a committee is in charge and they are getting dressed in a parking lot in Louisiana. I'd be a fan of UND playing multiple FBS schools to start each season, maybe I'm in the minority.
  15. I'm all for getting athletes on the field however you need to do it. I'd love a red zone package with Javance with a ton of motion and the option of rolling him out in an rpo look or even under center in a triple option veer look to keep teams off balance.
  16. I think there is a lot on tape from their first four games on how you can expose Minnesota. IMHO, Airey (Gasp!!!! Canadian) will have to be really good for the gophers this weekend to come away with a win in what hopefully will be the most difficult atmosphere they will play in this year. The last time these teams met was at the Ralph, and I dont think the gophers could have played a more perfect game on Friday of that series. Took the air out of the building in the 2nd period and I just never felt like UND would win that game with how well the gophers played defensively. This gopher team is built a bit different than that one, but has enough talent to have some success if UND gets away from what makes them go.
  17. It was actually a play created and called at the start of OT by an assistant coach. The fact that it was the first time all year that it worked is crazy. The fact Faber wasn't on the ice, much crazier. Edit* Assistant coach Joe Dumais is given credit in the post game interview by Pecknold.
  18. Their QB made some plays but at the same time made some big mistakes when NDSU got in his kitchen. NDSU is currently the #2 team in the FCS in total defense, and its never easy in the Fargodome. I'd agree with keeping the ball out of his hands with the run game and ball control, but also limiting his time and space when he is on the field.
  19. They took advice from Brad Berry and played not to lose the third period....two shots on goal.... Then they didn't start Faber in OT for whatever reason, and got beat by a center ice set play that hadn't worked all season for the Q.
  20. The gophers visit the Ralph after splitting with BC. Losing Thursday night, but rebounding to get the all important non conference shootout victory on Friday night. The weekend before they split with Tech, in which they trailed in the third period in both games. Friday night has all the makings of a trap game. UND feeling good about themselves, and the gophers winless in regulation in their last three and may play with some desperation. Full building, lots of energy, we need to come out with a ton of energy. Get the first one and blow the roof off the place. If you get the 2nd and the 3rd I'd bet on the gophers folding up the tent. I'll say a split, with some growing pains for UND.
  21. Nobody tell that writer that Mitchell Miller is playing hockey in Russia.
  22. Now that St. Thomas is coming to the NCHC, we will see plenty of Karl and it will always be a story. Give it some time and Schloss will catch up with him and he will say glowing things about St. Thomas and he didnt leave UND on great terms. Apple Valley guy so kind of a homecoming for him.
