I didn't have a 4 game sweep of the Tigers on my bingo card. Besides Taj Bradley being a surprise to start, Victor Caratini has been a good addition. Not a huge strikeout guy, and good behind the dish.

You realize how much you miss having the team at the F4 when it hasn't happened for a while. My 9 year old daughter did notice that I'm wearing the exact same shirt today that I wore last Thursday and then again on Saturday. We then had a talk about superstitions. That brought back memories so I looked for that game via @Blackheart on youtube, and sure enough its still there with Kollar getting steam rolled late in the 2nd, and Commodore wanting to kill the guy that dipped his shoulder into him. The Blais interview between the second and third period is just classic Blais. There is also a @MafiaMan sighting live and in person from that game next to a gal in a Michigan jersey of all things.

Remember being pretty nervous that we weren't going to have Karl if they ended up playing New Hampshire that weekend. Niagara's goaltender was fantastic against UNH in the one and done the day before and we got the lesser of the teams in my opinion. Kollar was solid though and got the boys to the F4.

Nice story from Schloss today on the goaltenders for UND's past national championships. I will be the jerk that fact checks him though as he has Karl beating Niagara, then Maine, then BC in 2000. Karl was actually the backup to Andy Kollar at Mariucci arena as he was still recovering from a concussion.

Order of operation if we don't win it is Wisconsin, then Denver, then Michigan. I won't be overly devastated if its any of the three. Its not like a year where Duluth is there and I'm all in on anyone but them. If they played Minnesota in the nation championship the TV would just be off.

I was told that with Watford and Hazen coming aboard that Jamestown will be heading to the EDC for girls hockey. I'd assume the same would hold true for the boys side as it makes sense to have them in the EDC with travel.

It still surprises me the number of individuals this day and age that cheer for both. I was at the Target Center NBA City bar or whatever they called it before or after a UND game a few years back and there were people in UND attire cheering on the Bison basketball team in the NCAA tournament. Should've taken a picture of the lady at the bar in a UND hockey jersey doing a "horns up" after NDSU made a basket. I think you could see what you mentioned, or UND football gets a boost as NDSU won't be playing meaningful games in December at the Fargodome anymore. Although I'm now told that the FCS is a watered down D2 league with a bunch of bad teams by the same group that celebrates their D1 FCS championships. If they reach the status that James Madison currently occupies as a top G5 team with the possibility of games at Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, Georgia in the playoffs then your point is valid. I'm interested to see how the crowds will be when they host the Wyomings of the world and UTEP. They may be sell outs, but will the atmosphere match what it was against SDSU? I'll hang up and listen.

He's thrown his name in the hat a few different places, but I'm kind of in the same boat as I'll only believe it when I see it. He's got a great thing going with Fersch at Western. My gut tells me Nick Oliver, being a former player and assistant coach is the move that they will make. Similar in age to Carle with head coaching experience in the USHL and also with USA hockey. Yet, is he the head coach in waiting at Wisconsin? Time will tell I guess.

And we are getting drilled in KC with our best pitcher on the mound. I'd say 100 losses is well within the realm of possibility.

I personally love that the furthest east a Frozen four teams calls home is Ann Arbor. Had Duluth beaten Michigan it would've been Madison. And now there is a ton of bickering between the Hockey East people and the ECAC about which conference is better. What a time to be alive.

I think the film says a lot about Wisconsin games. Shaky goaltending, and they are a huge momentum type team. They give up goals in bunches at times but also score in bunches like Michigan State learned the hard way on Saturday. Youth hockey philosophy here, but get the puck behind their defense like we did against the Q and we will have success. A ton of respect for their coaching staff. Getting their team to Vegas after the layoff they had isn't an easy task. If the same group that showed up against the Q on Saturday shows up Thursday we will be playing on Saturday night. *If Spunar is the Frozen Four MVP we have a good chance as well.

Turning the page on last season. Hearing from sources that H/B is officially in on the girls side and there will be conference tournaments on the girls side next season. West: Dickinson, Williston, H/B, Minot, Century, Legacy/BHS, Mandan, Jamestown. East: Devils Lake, Grand Forks, N/S, WF United, Davies. Wondering if Jamestown gets put in the east for the girls, or if they can even do that since all other Jamestown sports are in the WDA. Also heard give it a year or two and all Jamestown sports will be in the EDC. Don't know much about the status of Watford City joining either boys or girls side. Hope we don't see too many kids leave early, but always a possibility with the way things are this day in age.
