  1. I guess if the NCAA is allowing for the scholarship dollars to come from outside sources then every kid on that team could have a full ride. I would imagine that would be a slippery slope though with the women's programs and other male sports programs looking over their shoulder.
  2. FYP
  3. Okay (brushes the dirt off of miserable road trip)...... Hearing that NIck Gordon and Kiriloff are coming up to the big club. Love the moves. May be the time to trade Cave. Left handed hitting guy who can play all the outfield positions should draw some attention. Not sure why they didn't trade him before when teams asked. I also think its a great time to shop Kepler a bit. Doesn't do anything for the club other than strike out and play shoddy defense in right. I think they should try and get a suitor before its too late and he isn't hitting his weight and is on a big contract. As the post above said, end the Colome experiment at closer. I can't handle closers that work that slow and are terrible at throwing strikes or hitting batters.
  4. I don't follow GPL on Twitter, but somebody liked a post of theirs and it came up that they had 10 d men on the roster last season? Right now they've got 8, and they are still looking to add on the blue line they say? My question becomes how thin the scholarship dollars get stretched? You've got your all American Goalie coming back (for sure scholarship), and a few good young kids like Lucius that are for sure on full rides. The NCAA to my knowledge did not allow for adding scholarship dollars even with retaining super seniors. Are there that many kids at Minnesota on partials? I mean 28 kids rostered seems like a lot. In retrospect UND was at 26 this past season, so not a huge difference, but two more mouths to feed for Minnesota.
  5. Give it to Otis and let him pound on these guys all day. UND 31 MO 21
  6. I trust Karl more than my wife. If he thinks Feeney can be the #2, I'll get in his bandwagon and hopefully Driscoll doesn't get hurt walking up the steps at Delta Gamma. At the same time, if Driscoll does get hurt you're putting yourself out there for intense GOBC scrutiny if Feeney can't handle being the guy and you have to look elsewhere. (See New Ralph opening year, Jake Brandt not ready, bring in Siembida). I'd expect an announcement before summer about 25 year old Canadian transfer.
  7. True. I can't imagine moving the guy you've had play 2nd the entire day to 3rd. Arraez has been great, I don't blame him for the poor throw. They've got to move Colome. Either to earlier in the game or trade him. Can't believe Rocco stuck with him.
  8. Rocco's move to pinch run Donaldson paid off. Great management.
  9. We got him. Calder to UND.
  10. Posting for a friend that won't be able to attend the UND-Nashville game, and has a seat available on a direct charter flight from Bismarck to Nashville on Thursday October 28th, with a return direct flight to Bismarck on Sunday. Does not include a ticket, just a seat on the plane for the game in October. PM me if you would like more details on the cost.
  11. Schedule released. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/6994685-UND-hockeys-2021-22-schedule-is-released
  12. Boy I hope so. Getting Mr. Driscoll was huge, and I believe he is a better option next season than Thome (hides behind wall). Going forward though after Driscoll leaves.....you've got Kaleb Johnson, and Feeney for 2022-2023. I see a couple of NTDP goalies are uncommitted, but I never hold my breath on those guys coming here. Kaleb needs another year of junior hockey (hopefully USHL), and the same for Hedquist in Dubuque. Wonder what the deal with Kraws is for Miami? I thought he'd be picked up quickly by someone based on the eye test from when we played them, and he has some international experience playing for Team USA. Persson was sensational for them and deserved all the awards he got, but getting hung out to dry a lot would be a good indicator of why Kraws didn't have very good numbers.
  13. Based on the passing yards the Bears have allowed, or the 270 rushing yards allowed at home vs. NDSU, I'd say our defense is right up there with them. I think Tommy can have a huge game against these guys. I wasn't overly impressed with Camp from USD, and he put up almost 340 yards passing against them.
  14. No runs scored in 14 innings. Overshifting cost them the only run in game 2.....but at least it looks like everyone is having fun. I used to be a big time Astudillo fan, but now he makes me miss Adrianza..... I wondered out loud if Rocco would get fired for a crappy season, but then remembered Gardy was allowed to have four 90+ loss seasons (with a new stadium) before he was tossed.
  15. Cough.....get a goalie.....cough.....goalie.....
  16. Dale Lennon with some TV time as UMARY wins the ACHA D2 national championship.
  17. If all SCSU's guys come back I'll pick them to win the league. Well coached, and gave a good UND team a run for their money every time they locked horns this year. Way......way.........way.........too early (and likely wrong) predictions for 21-22 NCHC end game. 1. SCSU 2. Duluth 3. UND 4. Denver 5. Western 6. Omaha 7. CC 8. Miami
  18. Well we all know they'll be set up in different regionals so the possibility will exist.
  19. So is he going to Minnesota because he's used to playing on the big ice surface? Or because he'll light it up against some of the teams in conference they'll see four times. Good get for the gophs though. Anxious to see him at the Ralph sometime during the year.
  20. Some of my favorite players in the past were Canucks. You had Scotty Schultz, Donovan Alexander, The Manitoba Moose, Bamba. Although Bamba didn't last a very long time.
  21. So why didn't he quit a month or so ago? And now....the Monday before the playoffs......great move....
  22. Lindenwood playing Minot State at ACHA nationals. Rick Zombo coaches Lindenwood. Both teams would make great additions to D1. Lindenwood being around St. Louis would make them a great location for a team with the Jr. Blues close.
  23. Ohh hey, their QB played at Idaho State in that 2019 travel disaster game. Still in concussion protocol though leading up to this week. How about we win.
  24. Twins have Covid. Guessing a week without games.
  25. Boy the ESPN guy was just in love Missouri State. We don't have a chance.
