2020-21 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Kiersted in talks with the Wild. I'd go for that. -
Durflinger at UND would be a hoot. After half the guys had their fist fight with him in the locker room I think he'd fit in well.

A former player of mine got to see JBD do some power skating work this summer and said his work ethic is second to none. Just a constant desire to get better, much like Toews. Can't blame a kid like that who puts in 3 good years here and is ready for the next level. Turns 21 this summer, so on the younger side, but he's ready.
-
The only kid in the history of hockey that will be able to say his mom played in the NHL and he didn't.
-
Passe-moi la rondelle!!!!!!!
-
Is he expected to skate inside his own blue line? That's a big one.

Time for the annual we aren't there so put in the rankings of who I want to win in order.....sigh..... 1. Mankato. Hastings gets so much out of his teams. Glad they finally got a team to a F4. Guy deserves it. 2. SCSU. I guess here because it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if they finally got one. Keeps the title in the NCHC. 3. No school qualifies. 4. UMass. Playing for the hopes and dreams off all the Eastern hockey people. They can beat Duluth, and then not win the championship. 4b. Duluth. Maybe I should start cheering for them to win. At some point a bad bounce has to go against them in the postseason right? Hah, wrong.....

If he does, good for him. I just can't see him making a professional career out of hockey. Hopefully he gets a shot, and proves me wrong. I'll definitely eat crow on this one with ketchup. -

The Seniors..... Gooch-Gonna be 24 years old in May. Thanks Jordan, your last goal was a thriller! I see overseas career in his future. Adams-Turns 23 in April. Thanks for the memories. I too see him taking the overseas route eventually. Thome-Team guy, put himself out there with struggle with depression. Would he return if Scheel left? I think so. Honestly though, if a transfer portal goalie wants to come here, Peter heads to the next step in life after hockey. Bast-Playing with your brother means what to him???? If Sanderson stays I see him leaving with Morrow coming in and wanting to develop guys like Moore, Johnson, and his brother (who would really screw with things if he wore #2 as well.....) Mismash-Does Nashville sign him? I dunno, second round picks are tough to just let go of. Injuries the last couple of years sucked for him. Hopefully he can become an AHL regular. Kiersted-Have fun selecting the best offer sir. He's going to get a lot of them. Rieger-Gonna be an accountant. Awesome! Thanks for playing the utility role and being a great teammate when your number wasn't called. Keane-Would love to have him back. Would be tremendous on the third or fourth line all year long. Could wear a letter perhaps. Think about it and give me a call. In the long run I see them all gone. Keane likely won't call me and we close the book on the class that was the first to win the league playoff championship and played the longest game in NCAA tournament history. -
Which one? Levi?
-
Congrats to the Mavs. Very well coached team with an excellent chance to win it all.
-
McKay is the real deal. Great goaltending.
-
Did Schloss really pick all these big ten teams? Wow. Granted two were Covid, but would Michigan have beaten Duluth? Yeah...no....
-
Miami backup goalie Kraws is in the transfer portal. Big guy that moves well. Fantastic against us at the pod. Other than Scheel we are pretty thin in the net.
-
You mean 27 year old Canadians.
-
I'm super happy they're getting the NHL back.......hmmm....yeah.... Unless they dust off Thorne and Clement.
-
Funny thing is that if they wanted to they could have sent Duluth to Bridgeport and had Lake State as the three in Fargo to split up the conferences a bit more. Or they could have sent Duluth to Denver as the 3 and kept Quinnipiac near Bridgeport as well. As I say this the Mavs go up 2-0. Point being, could have been 3 or even 4 NCHC teams in the F4.

Good for SCSU. Go out there and win the Beanpot why don't ya.

Or he could play with Frisch or Kleven. -
Yeah, sucks for us, but at the same time you've got to be happy for an alum, former player, and former coach of ours. For sure a HOF inductee in the future. Could coach 30 years at Duluth, maybe more?

Sanderson is ready for the NHL. Glad he was here for a year. One of the best skaters I've seen in the college game. Another year would be fun, but I think he heads east. -
He knows the type of kids to recruit to play his system to a T. Had some down years in Duluth, and many wanted him gone after consecutive sub .500 seasons, but to say he got it figured out is an understatement.
-
Will always wonder if Duluth playing yesterday would have changed our approach today. Wow were our defenseman just super unaggressive early in the game on the offensive blue line. Were playing not to give up a rush or make a mistake. Low chance game favors Duluth.
