  1. Not sure if it has anything to do with the Bison gear, but Scheels is a pretty big sponsor for NDSU. I believe the store got it's start in GF, but it appears as though NDSU is who Scheels backs. I agree on the merchandising angle. Unbelievable how poor the football team is marketed. I have a difficult time finding UND football gear anywhere in town. I see UND football shirts on people at games, so it exists, but is should be more readily available...including at the Alerus Center.
  2. I think he's saying it didn't work out to well in respects to what happened on the field (34-9).
  3. I have no problem with other team's fans coming and posting and even talking a little smack. Do some take it over the edge, sure. But many don't...I do feel we have a few UND posters who need to get some "thicker skin" not worry so much about a little smack talk by other fans.
  4. Well, hopefully this eliminates Nodaks from contention...
  5. NDSU's Promo trailer for the game... http://www.inforum.com/sports/3842297-ndsu-promo-und-game-reaches-top-gear
  6. Eric Perkins Steve Lemme (Mac from Super Troopers)
  7. NDSU has the better defense. NDSU has the better offense. NDSU has the better Special Teams. NDSU has the better coaches. NDSU has the better recruits. NDSU has the better game day atmosphere. NDSU has more championships...blah, blah, blah... UND 24 NDSU 21 Go Sioux (Rough Riders)!
  8. Do you really expect to generate any football conversation with the way you worded your first post?
  9. The one thing I've learned from watching rivalry games is that anything can happen. Do I expect UND to get blown out, no. But we are a young team who's still learning to win. If NDSU gets things rolling early, and/or UND has some untimely mistakes/penalties, things could get ugly. If UND plays to its potential, as they did against Wyoming, it could be close and perhaps UND could even pull out a win. It's a rivalry and anything can happen...
  10. Initially there was a flag thrown, but after discussion, the refs picked it up. Did one of the guys in the backfield go in motion and setup on the line? I have not seen the play so I don't know how it went.
  11. Fine, I'll up it to $110 per ticket which is more than what the UNI tix are for a game in the Fargodome. Is that better?
  12. Well since UND-NDSU isn't a true rivalry like SDSU or UNI, I will make an offer. Stub hub tix for the SDSU game start at $78. Tix for the UNI game start at $100. So I would suspect UND (non rival) tix should be around $60. Would you take $80...yes, I'm willing to pay above the marke rate of your true rival SDSU!
  13. I actually think Fighting Hawks has a pretty decent chance to win. Roughriders has to overcome the "already have a school with that nickname in GF" argument. Plus I can see a lot of the Fighting Sioux fans supporting Fighting Hawks, if for nothing else, when the PA guy announces: "Here comes your University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks ( the crowd can much more easily insert Sioux and drown out the PA announcer when he says Hawks). For this reason, I'm surprised the committee kept "Fighting" Hawks. I thought for sure it would be eliminated because of it.
  14. The story in the paper said his BAC was below .08 but it did not say how much below. For all we know, it could have been .01 since it's a zero tolerance for minors. Again, not good that he chose to drive after drinking, but I will with hold judging him as I do not know all of the facts. I trust the coaching staff will give out the appropriate punishment.
  15. I did not know that a minor could get arrested for drunk driving if his BAC is below .08. Not trying to defend what he did but I'm curious what his BAC was?
  16. KVLY had a pretty good video of the incident. The fan appeared to not only grab the face mask but also tap/hit the top of Morlock's helmet. Morlock pushed him off with his right hand...and as others have said, the fan was lucky he didn't do anything else. Morlock did nothing wrong and there should be no punishment. The Montana fan, on the other hand, should be banned from future games...at least for this year if not longer.
  17. Buy North Dakota gear, or wear old Sioux gear and cheer on North Dakota or UND or the Sioux.
  18. Dayton bounces back and takes the 3rd set, 25-15. Hopefully UND can close it out in the fourth set.
  19. It's the University of North Dakota. Not the University of Grand Forks. Do you think fans of other teams in our conferences or any other university in the country (not named NDSU) actually knows that RRHS exists or that they refer to themselves as the Roughriders? Since it's the University of North Dakota, and one of the state mottos is The Roughrider state...Roughriders is a natural pick. One of Minnesota's state mottos is the North Star State, so why would the State flagship of ND want to use a state motto of a neighboring state as their nickname? It's not that hard to see the differences...Oh, and we don't play in the CFL.
  20. Are you saying you don't have a vote? Because the question is which one you would vote for...not which two would you vote for. Time to get off the fence and make a decision... That is the point he is making.
  21. And UND wins the first game 25-23. Good start so far! I'm guessing most people are in the Nickname forum. I haven't even opened that up since the announcement on the finalists. I will wait till my lunch break to peak at that meltdown...
  22. The UND vs Dayton match started at 11:00 am this morning. You can get live stats here: http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=95392&a=1 Currently 21-20 Dayton in the first game...
  23. I wish UND would play at the highest level also. Unfortunately, the state of ND has too many institutions of higher learning for it's population. Wyoming, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc. are all states that only have one flagship, FBS/FCS level school that plays football. Thus all of the money and fan support goes to that school. ND has both UND, NDSU, plus, several smaller schools that divides up the resources and some of the fan support.
