    Not sure if it's been mentioned or not, but I noticed a Firehouse Subs is going into the strip mall on 32nd and Columbia where the old Quiznos was located. I've never eaten at one before but have heard they are good.

    It would be easier if the hawk logo wasn't part of th letter 'D.' See the UNI logo above. The ND would be backwards, either that or the hawk would be facing the opposite way as the other side. It's one thing when it's an interlocking ND being "backwards" but with the Hawk, it looks more awkward. If the Hawk logo wasn't apart of the letters, like UNI, it would also be easier to do.

    No because most logos can be inverted. Because UND uses the letters 'ND,' it can't be inverted.

    Lots of UND and North Dakota Alum living in Arizona, especially during the winters. I think UND would have another "home game" if ASU gets in the NCHC. I would love to make that trip during the winters!

    I just looked at their website and they look to have some good burgers. I knew the location in Fargo, just hadn't tried it. Looking forward to them opening in GF.

    Strange, I did the same simulator and it has us at 7-4. Then I ran it again and ended up at 5-6. Both times advancing to the playoffs...

    I have no idea if or how this split will occur, but if it does, UND won't be included in the top tier of FBS/DI whatever you want to call it. We aren't even in the top 100 DI schools. The best we can hope for is the second tier.

    Not sure what you mean by this. If you are talking about a P5-G6 split, then why would UND have to move up now? The WAC, or whatever FBS conference you believe UND is getting in to, will be part of the second tier, along with many other "upper level" FCS schools. Unless your saying the second tier won't accept FCS level conferences to move up to the second level en mass? Which is pure speculation. If a new level of FBS/DI football is formed, there will have to be new rules drawn up.

    Agree with all of this and will add that a football field is a lot bigger than a hockey arena. Not sure how easy it would be to read the names off the back of the jerseys all that often. I use a program or even the UND app with the roster pulled up on my phone if I need to know who a player is.

    I would still like to see how UND plans to utilize it on the helmet. With the current logo, as is, it will not work very well as the hawk will be facing a different direction on one side, or the ND would have to be backwards. If it needs to be on the helmet, then I like the idea of a logo on one side and the players number on the other side.

    I really wish UND would have have included some computer images/schemes of what the logo would look like/could look like on uniforms/helmets etc. Maybe they are waiting until the merchandise launch in August...just seems like they could have (should have) included it in today's release.

    I agree...unless the 'ND' is left out. I'd be ok with the number on one side.

    A question I, and others have brought up on other sites is, how will the logo be incorporated onto the helmets? Will the Hawk face forward on one side and backwards on the other side? Will they remove the ND so it can face forward on both sides??

    Oh I get that. Just trying to point out to Hoops44 that Jones is indeed playing for his job. Even if he is given a year or two extension this summer and the team tanks next year...I think there's a pretty good chance he is let go. Most coaches at this level are at risk of being fired should their team not play up to expectations. I'm hoping UND has set the bar fairly high...at a minimum a top three finish in conference and a few tourney wins. The Big Sky is not a good basketball conference. Outside of Weber and occasionally Montana, there is not another "good team" in there. I hope UND really starts to focus on pumping up the program to the point where they are in the conference hunt year in, year out and make the dance every now and then.

    To some degree, I think all DI coaches, other than the top tier/elite coaches, are coaching for their job every season.

    Delay in case of lightning...either way the HPC is great and I agree on that part. Just don't like the idea of a little rain forcing the kids inside. I believe playing/practicing in the elements helps build a toughness type of mentality and helps when having to play on the road, in the elements.
