  1. This. The best women's team in the world, the US Olympic team, struggles against boys high school teams.
  2. We are a UND men's hockey school/town. If it's not the men's team playing, we ( town/school) don't support. Need evidence? See high school hockey tourney, world juniors last year, exhibition pro games, and UND women's hockey
  3. Hockey had a lot of empty seats in the upper deck last Friday. Also, I received an email that are offering a discount on hockey tix this weekend...only $25 compared to the normal price of $40.
  4. Probably because USD was supposed to be coming with and we would be travel partners. Now our travel partner is UNC, which requires a plane ride.
  5. I clarified your post a bit...otherwise it reads as though they want less competitive teams. At least that's how I initially read it.
  6. So does guy know something we don't, or is he just speculating based on the review our athletic department is current undertaking? Oct 6 Brandon Garside ‏@BrandonGarside Another factor of that, however, is the possibility of North Dakota leaving the conference.
  7. According to Sagarin, Montana's SOS is #187 in all of College football UND's SOS is #174 in all of college football So yep, UND has played a more difficult schedule... EDIT: Can't get it to copy and paste.
  8. Would the playoff committee avoid conference matchups in the first round if the two teams didn't play during the regular season? I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen.
  9. You forgot to post all of the "ORV" teams. Looks like Sac. States quality losses are starting to get them noticed...Here they are: ORV: 26 Stony Brook Seawolves 130 29 27 Lehigh Mountain Hawks 49 36 28 Wofford Terriers 44 39 29 Grambling State Tigers 28 32 30T South Dakota Coyotes 19 NR 30T Tennessee State Tigers 19 28 32 McNeese State Cowboys 14 24 33 Illinois State Redbirds 13 25 34 Sacred Heart Pioneers 10 35T 35 Indiana State Sycamores 9 31 36T Missouri State Bears 5 33 36T Monmouth Hawks 5 NR 36T Sacramento State Hornets 5 NR 39 William & Mary Tribe 4 35T 40 Fordham Rams 1 NR
  10. Actually, W. Illinois had a 6-5 record.
  11. That makes sense... Apparently this guy is in town also. I have a feeling his reaction to his grandson be drafted will be very similar (although for different reasons) to SV's reaction when the Engelstad's leave and no announcement comes this weekend. Brad E. Schlossman ‏@SchlossmanGF 1h1 hour ago Brad E. Schlossman Retweeted Greg Wyshynski NHL Draft legend Jim Jost is in the house this weekend, making his first trip to The Ralph. Brad E. Schlossman added, Greg Wyshynski @wyshynski NHL Draft pick Tyson Jost's sobbing grandpa will melt your heart (Video) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/nhl-draft-pick-s-sobbing-grandpa-will-melt-your-heart--video-141626468.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw … via @YahooSports #NHLDraft 2 retweets21 likes
  12. Are you referring to the Engelstad's being in town for the games?
  13. Agreed. Lots of potential to grow mens Bball.
  14. I'm pretty impartial. When we first went DI, I was hoping for the Summit/MVFC. Both the Summit and Big Sky have schools I like to see UND play. Both conferences also have some dogs as well. Both are fine conferences and I'd be happy with UND in either the Big Sky or Summit. Right now Men's Bball is arguably the third most popular sport on campus. Our fan base didn't even get too excited when UNI came to town as a top 20 team...which is a bit sad.
  15. Need to cross off UC Davis and Cal Poly as they are football only. Gothmog was referring to Summit Schools (non-football). So add Weber St. To the list.
  16. This is the rendering I seem to remember floating around...
  17. They essentially sat him at NDSU last year as he had a few fumbles in the prior game. His season seemed to turnout ok...
  18. I saw the one that was missed as well. Couldn't believe the refs missed it. Saw it live and on the replay. Just another example of the types of mistakes that Bubba needs to control of.
  19. I think people are excited because of how good their defense is. Granted they need to figure out the o-line, but defenses in championships. Look at the last several NFL champions. I actually think that next year would be the year they make run at a Super Bowl berth (especially since they are hosting) as their is still a few things to fix on the O-line. Their defense is playing at a Championship level right now...but yes, it is a long season.
  20. Well, in that same time frame, the Big Sky has added 4 teams and two affiliates in football. So is the Big Sky unstable? A few more have left the Summit than the Big Sky, but there are more options for conferences from the mid US eastward. There are no options in the west other than Pac-12 and MWC, both of which are FBS. The Summit has focused on the upper Midwest for the most part, and with the Dakota schools in there, has/will become much more stable. For the record, I'm happy in the Big Sky. I just think the majority of UND fans are interested in being in the same conference as the other Dakota schools. And do to budget issues, UND joining the Summit maybe a real possibility.
  21. Some of you may want to back off on calling the Summit Conference the "Slummit." UND very well may be a part of that conference...maybe sooner than we think (and no, I have no inside knowledge.) There is nothing wrong with the Summit Conference. It is not a revolving door as some like to say. It may have been at one time, but since the Dakota schools entered it has stabilized. There are many positives to being in the Summit. Not saying the Big Sky is bad to be in as there are many positives that conference as well. It's up to Kennedy to determine which one is the best fit, I wouldn't be surprised if The Summit turns out to be the answer.
  22. I would assume the Summit would have to ok it as well.
  23. Stay tuned... Thanked me for the suggestion and said it's something they will consider...
  24. Yes I know I'm quoting myself. Not so surprisingly, Bubba already responded to my email. Nice to see he responds to emails...even if there isn't a monetary donation involved
  25. You are probably right. But I think this could be another step in getting students to buy into the program and build some school pride between the students and the team. Initially there will probably be more players singing than students in the crowd, but you have to start somewhere. I get chills when I see other schools do this, whether it's on tv or in person.
