  1. And they don't even mention the MN State Hockey Tourney...
  2. Most notably the ability to control play on the other end of the ice.
  3. McLeod would actually wait until Thursday. Denver does the same crap after each period, too, and nothing is done about it.
  4. Yes, it's obvious FSN brings their own equipment because they broadcast from a much higher angle - probably in/near the press box. FSSN has their cameras on the concourse level.
  5. Yes, but they didn't announce they were shutting him down until Nov. 18. I'd assume he was trying to practice between the Sat. Gopher game and the 18th. I guess I'm still holding out hope he's still "on schedule" to return, but at the same time I'm not holding my breath. I would have thought we would have heard something around week 6 or so if they though it was a legitimate 6 to 8 week deal...such as an attempt to practice, etc.
  6. This weekend will be week 8 since they announced they were shutting him down for "6-8 weeks" on Nov. 18. According to his comments at that time, he said he wouldn't start practicing until the 6-8 weeks were up. I'm not holding my breath that he'll return this season, but it would seem to me that this next week will be decision time regarding surgery.
  7. Rocco's Injury
  8. Yeah, I'm not sure how it all shakes out or what the potential scenarios could be. With all the highly sought after kids committing early these days, it may have been difficult to bring in a "difference maker" for the 2012 class so late in the game after Miller bolted. I guess we'll have to see what happens over the next few weeks...kid could end up somewhere else.
  9. What changed? For starters, J.T. Miller never showed up on campus. McMillan was already committed to SCSU, so we had to go the walk-on route to fill Miller's spot in the class.
  10. Funny how you chastise everyone here for the term "PN," but you have no problem slinging the word "teabagger" around.
  11. http://www.kfan.com/...ml&mid=21698990 Lou Nanne with Dan Barreiro on the FAN yesterday - about 21:45 of the podcast. Pretty good.
  12. Exactly. I was very glad I got back to my car in time after the game to hear him say this. Remember: It was the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA Fighting Sioux....not the Fighting Sioux of the University of North Dakota. University comes first.
  13. In order for this to be the case, wouldn't UND have to be one of the few teams in the conference without the HD equipment? Tell me how many teams in the conference broadcast their home games in HD; or maybe the better question is which teams even broadcast their games on TV at all?
  14. I would bet CBS college sports brings their own cameras/equipment. They did a CC/DU game this year in HD, and last year's Friday night UND @ CC game was on CBS college sports in HD. I don't think CC has much of any TV package let alone HD equipment in their building...unless they webcast in HD because that's the only way to watch their games that aren't produced by someone else's TV network.
  15. To refresh everyone's Final Five memory... In 1999 UND was runner up to DU at Target Center. In 2000, UND beat Wisco at Target Center. We've played pretty well there in the past. These were my first two Final Fives, and despite the building I still got hooked on the darn tourney...haven't missed one since! I (mostly) seem to remember not having a problem finding a good time in downtown Minneapolis.
  16. Blais dismisses Alex Hudson... http://www.omaha.com/article/20111215/MAVS02/712159861/1001
  17. As far as I know, the U of M policy (and the U of W for that matter) is that they won't play a team that is on NCAA sanctions for a "hostile & abusive" nickname. CMU is on the NCAA "cleared" list because they got the requisite permission to get off the H&A list. The Gophers or Badgers would schedule us in non-conference games as the Sioux if we were to have permission from both tribes. The U of M is just playing to the NCAA's hypocrisy.
  18. He may not "participate" in the defense playing well, or the kicker making clutch kicks; but he does participate as a leader of that team that many - if not all - of his teammates have rallied around. Plain and simple, the guy's a winner, and his positive attitude is clearly contagious. ----- It's going to be interesting to see how he plays and adjusts over the next two seasons once the NFL defensive gurus have had an offseason to pick apart film from this year.
  19. I'll take a stab at this one... NO I'd rather have MacWilliam do it.
  20. Most of Lucia's angst was directed solely at the officials. There were several times when my expert lip reading skills deciphered "YOU GUYS F-ED THIS GAME UP!" I'd probably have to agree with his assessment. Almot never in these types of incidents should the officials escape without some blame.
  21. Not sure I would put it on Mac. It looked to me like the GWG was more of a freshman mistake by Mattson - looked like he got caught jumping into the play hunting for a juicy rebound at the wrong time and let Walters get up the wing behind him. I could be wrong, though, as I was in a bit of an irritated state while watching the replay!
  22. Damn...beat me to it. That's one of my pet peeves!
  23. I think this is what many on this board have been saying for quite some time...I think Sicatoka has been trying to drive this point home in the nickname forum. Let the University take the path it needs to take to keep the athletic department going while the SL tribe takes a separate path against the NCAA. Should the two paths cross in the future, the name could possibly be restored. If not, so be it.
  24. The WCHA expanding to 12 teams last year probably messed that up a bit.
  25. But the maroon & gold "jersey pop" tops them all!
