  1. From FoxNews this afternoon: http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/happening-now/index.html?playlist_id=86919&intcmp=features#/v/1485354033001/fight-over-fighting-sioux-logo
  2. I think what you've posted here gives context as to why UND's run this season is so impressive to me (and likely most Sioux fans). They've actually played better the thinner the lineup has become!
  3. Glad you pointed out that most of MSU's recent success was against the bottom six in the league. Still, though, UND can't take anything for granted and they know this. If you'd have told me three months ago that this team would have a chance to get in the tourney on their own merit and not need help I'd have thought you were nuts. I'm expecting a sweep, but would be only mildly disappointed with less than that all things considered this year.
  4. Does he have his facts straight? It's my understanding that the law doesn't force the logo on the uniforms, so they would be able to compete and avoid forfeiture at the NCAA level with "generic" unis.
  5. Correct. DirecTV is not picking up the live games from Fox College Sports this weekend. The games will be on cable systems that carry Fox College Sports.
  6. No...we don't know for sure...keyword "may" only be available. Lots of time before this is an issue, though, so hopefully something gets worked out.
  7. I only use mine for FSSN broadcasts so I don't really know. From what I've seen you can get some occasional sports and a lot of news feeds, but I'm not sure I would rely on it as my sole source of TV entertainment. Of course...if you only need it for Sioux games during hunting season you'd be set - especially considering they may only be available nationally on FTA due to the upcoming TV deal with the NCHC. It's a good thing we have a year and a half to get this figured out!
  8. The phrase "blind leading the blind" comes to mind!
  9. Fail. They didn't frame it as a Yes or No question. The Yes answer included the qualifier "The nickname and Logo are Offensive." Therefore, if I don't believe the nickname to be offensive, but I still feel it should be changed because the University is between a rock and a hard place, I don't have a place to cast my vote. The third option "I don't care" is also not available to me because I do care.
  10. Can you imagine if Paul Allen regularly had Roman on his show instead of Ryan Cardinal?
  11. I love DirecTV, but since Fox College Sports is a CABLE service first I've always kept my FTA system ready. In fact, this year I've been watching on FTA for the superior picture and relying on my DirecTV for backup.
  12. Yes, Kvalevog was the starter at the beginning of the year, and I believe the team started 6-0 or something like that.
  13. I don't care. We're in no position to be dreading potential first round matchups. Just get in the tourney.
  14. I'm assuming you meant to say "if they AREN'T the #1 seed..." The winner of the 3v6 game plays the 2. The winner of the 4v5 plays the 1. The 1 gets the night game unless MN finishes 2. In the previous 5-team format, the WCHA has forced the Thursday night 4/5 winner to turn around and play Friday afternoon several times, so there is precedent for this. In 2004 we were the #1 and got to play the 4/5 winner (UAA) Friday afternoon because the Gophers were the 3. Same with 2001. The point you make is still valid, though, because under the current format there is an option to give the 4/5 game winner more rest with an earlier game that did not exist under the previous format. I can't say for sure what the league would do. Essentially, yes...
  15. Last year they played the 3 v 6 quarterfinal in the early slot. It makes sense to give the 3 seed the early slot so as to give them the longest possible rest between games. If MN stays in first, it would probably stay that way, but should they drop to 2 and the MN rule is in effect, who knows? Edit: After thinking about it for a second, the MN rule shouldn't matter because the early QF slot gives the 3 seed maximum rest regardless of the situation.
  16. I'll take the team that played Saturday in Duluth minus the idiotic flurry of penalties. They dominated 5-on-5 that night.
  17. Yep. I remember the early 90s...not too tough to walk up to the door and probably get a FREE ticket from someone giving them away for most series. Those last few years of Gino's tenure could certainly be classified as a down period. Once Blais took the reigns it ramped up from there.
  18. I think it was the opponent, to be honest. Let's face it...we haven't exactly had barn-burners with MTU the past however many years. For the fans, there just isn't any intensity to a match-up between these two teams because the outcome has been one-sided for so long.
  19. I'm getting 78% on the 30-inch.
  20. I think you'll be OK. Mine was slightly different, too.
