The new jerseys will definitely need numbers added, especially on the front, in order to look right.

This isn't college football where the next step is the NFL. Saying a guy needs to be "NHL ready" before leaving school is a bit much. If you believe that better competition is better for development, then why rag on a guy for choosing to develop against better competition - even if it is riding buses and playing in front of smaller crowds in the minors? We don't know what is being put in front of these kids. "Regret" can go both ways. In Dell's case, what if he had a better offer last year and regrets passing it up?

Heading to the Frozen Four. Who the heck should I root for
Snake replied to Stack's topic in Men's Hockey
I'm praying for UM/BC to play a multiple OT game that has to be resumed on Friday with another five hours of OT. I'll take Ferris/Union in that championship! Edit: Darn...too slow on the multiple OT angle! -
A lot of us tout the advantages of the NCAA having older, stronger, smarter players vs. Major Juniors when it comes to kids deciding which route to take. I can't fault a guy if he wants to enhance his development against older, stronger, smarter players by jumping to the pro ranks - especially if the money is there.

A former Sioux sticking up for a former Pioneer while the former Gopher watches and gathers up the gear lying on the ice. What a bizarre world we live in!
-
Yeah...I figured that after a few more posts!

I'm pretty sure they wore white the whole way through in '97. For sure against BU in the title game. We were higher-seed vs CC in the Frozen Four and we wore white in that game, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFxDTWm83ws

He's probably itching to have some lineup decisions to make!

How is the TUC "cliff" determined? Does someone set it at 0.500, and therefore make it non-objective? KRACH considers all games against all teams.
-
Yep, it all depends on whether or not you feel KRACH or PWR does a better job of choosing a representative field of 16. I think more "numbers guys" lean toward KRACH as it is completely objective.
-
KRACH was not on crack; the PWR was. The teams and seedings were messed up by the PWR.
-
And when that happens everybody will want one!
-
UND is the 1 seed at the regional so they will be wearing white.
-
I have no idea and hope they wouldn't, but nothing would surprise me.

I'm curious if the ESPN affiliates will be using the nickname during their coverage of the NCAA tournament. Also, would anyone put it past the NCAA to request they not show highlights from previous games where our nickname and logo are prominently displayed? Often times they'll lead into a game showing highlights of how the two teams got there. Maybe since ESPN is not the NCAA it has no say; but I suppose it could be in their broadcast contract somewhere.
-
Don't they configure the bracket so the region containing the #1 overall seed plays the region containing #4 overall seed? That would be true "bracket integrity."
-
I don't think you'll ever see REA release these online because these are unique to the experience of attending a game in person.
-
I think it'll be a crapshoot. Even when they were the 1 seed last year they didn't have their typical home side bench.
-
Seems to me he maybe just wanted the option to fight...see his near Gordie Howe hat-trick referenced in the article.

I believe Root Sports Rocky Mountain is considered regional, just as Fox Sports North is regional. In fact, RSRM used to be Fox Sports Rocky Mountain. One needs to add a sports pack if not in the normal viewing region in order to view these channels.

So, if the new criteria is championships, how much longer are some of you willing to wait? I'd like to know how much longer we stay with Hak and who we replace him with. And also answer this: if the new guy fails to make the NCAA tournament, even only after one season, should he be fired too?
-
Even if the current #1 loses (MN), it doesn't change the fact that the "new" #1 seed will play Friday night because the MN rule would not be in effect.

Maybe he will take inspiration from what Frattin was UNABLE to deliver his senior season - a National Championship. Kristo was a very early commit and always wanted to be a Sioux. Maybe he's driven by the desire to add something to the legacy of UND hockey that guys like Toews, Parise, Fratts, etc. weren't able to deliver. There were plenty of concerns on this board his freshman season as to whether or not he "fit" the Sioux mold. Well...I think those questions have been answered. He has epitomized Fighting Sioux Hockey this season. The kid brings it EVERY night. Still plenty of time left on this season to deliver as well!

Time to turn the major powerplay stats in our favor!
