  1. In a team sport any time you put in new pieces, regardless of how many, you're sure to have a learning curve for everyone involved. Even the veterans have to get used to new teammates and/or new combos due to the departures and additions.
  2. I'm curious how one defines the "peak" of a season when a team doesn't win the championship? Is it the last win of a mid-season streak? I actually prefer to think that in seasons where we didn't win the National Championship we never actually peaked. It's easier to define "peak" that way.
  3. Fri - Rowney Sat - MacMillan
  4. We know it's going to happen...it's just a matter of when, right? We could probably lump Knight into that category as well. This team has done quite well considering they have had what some could consider mediocre production from the top guns to date. Good sign of depth.
  5. UND is going to dominate the weekend like a tennis match: 6-1, 6-1. Let's pump it up in here!!!!!
  6. If I remember correctly it involved comments he made to the effect that he makes it a point to look for reasons to call penalties on guys like Commodore, etc. He may have even actually singled out Commodore as a target of his affection...I'm guessing that would get a ref suspended for calling a certain team's games.
  7. Have you ever had déjà, déjà, déjà, déjà, déjà, déjà, déjà vu?
  8. Pretty sure you can't guarantee events would've transpired exactly the same if Pattyn's goal would've counted (would Caggiula have scored?). It doesn't work that way.
  9. We scored pretty quickly after the Pattyn shot review, so I'm not sure how the momentum would've changed there. Now, as for the major, to UND's credit they did kill it off, and if they could've kept SCSU off the board shortly thereafter who knows how much momentum UND would've gained (and SCSU would've lost). It could've been a completely different game if we could've held them off and got a clear after the major expired.
  10. True, but what can the team do to actually control the bad officiating? Nothing. As you said, putting together two good performances is within their control and should be the focus.
  11. Yeah, he hasn't looked too confident in his own zone.
  12. Why not finish the thought and ask how many national championships have been lost? I grow tired of the officiating excuse. Just rise above it
  13. Splits on the road are OK. Hopefully next weekend they can put it all together. I like what I see with this team.
  14. Paging Rocco Grimaldi. Time to stack the top line.
  15. He was sub-.500 last night, too.
  16. May as well carry over some love to the NCHC.
  17. Now that's garbage,
  18. But he didn't because we don't play that way.
  19. I guess if you don't think the team can overcome this then you're not much of a fan.
  20. Exactly.
  21. Their job is to call dangerous hits major penalties. Just because they may have missed one last night doesn't mean they have to be consistently wrong.
  22. Stupid and unnecessary regardless of severity.
  23. Quite the "save" though!
  24. The Pattyn shot looked like it crossed the line before Faragher got his stick on it. Oh well, needs to be conclusive, but pausing the DVR it looked like there was space between the puck and the goal line.
  25. To fill the programming void left by the NHL lockout would be my guess...
