Just curious, why is the "we're young" angle being taken here? Miami: SR - 2, JR - 8, SO - 11, FR - 6 UND: SR - 4, JR - 7, SO - 7, FR - 8 Miami has zero SR D and 1 JR. UND has 1 SR and 2 JRs Both teams have relied on underclassmen to carry the mail offensively. Why can't we go in there and beat 'em?

A. J. is one of my all-time favorite Twins. They lost their "winner" when they traded him.

But, despite some leagues having shootout and some not, the result counts the same in the PWR - a tie. In order to maintain continuity between leagues for PWR, the format of OT has to be consistent. What if the B1G was the only league using the 4X4 OT format, and we were fighting for the last at-large bid with Minnesota? What if they were able to beat a common opponent at home in OT because they were used to playing by their league rules and not the standard 5x5 OT? What if they were able to get a PP in OT and have a 4x3 advantage instead of a 5x4? It wouldn't be a level playing field if some leagues were to use 4x4 and others not.

I'm sure you would need the entire NCAA to buy off on a 4X4 OT, not just the NCHC. For the Pairwise, not all ties (or OT wins for that matter) would be created equal if one league were to use a 4X4 OT.

Yes. I think the Freeman signing was an indirect admission that they missed big time on Ponder. Now, with the season pretty much shot, they need to see what they have in Freeman for the foreseeable future. It's likely Ponder will not see the field again in purple.

That is my understanding. There is no app that is native specifically to the Apple TV box, so it is not directly the same as Netflix. However, if you have the UND sports app on your ipad you can "airplay" it via your wireless network to the apple TV box, which will then display it on your connected TV.

It bothers me when people complain about paying high prices for what most would consider "luxury items."

It's funny how some on this forum want the supposed power over the NCHC that they felt the Gophers had (and probably b$tched about) on the WCHA.

The CBS Sports contract is with the NCHC...it does not trump all of college hockey. Hockey East has a deal with NBC Sports. Since UND is playing at BU, it can be aired on NBC sports per their Hockey East contract. If it was a UND home game, then it would likely have to be aired on CBS Sports if it were to be aired nationally.

The Bruins are awesome.

Perhaps, but everything else (old Norris Rivals) seems so forced by the media out here. I do think that with the new divisional setup it won't take long for things to heat up once it gets down to the stretch run of the regular season and the first couple rounds of the playoffs.
-
The Wild won't have any true rivals in their new division until they start actually beating them and/or being a threat to them in the playoffs. Right now they only have "RIGOs" Rivals In Geography Only.

I just have this feeling that they crush Vermont this weekend. Just a feeling...no evidence to back it up.

Viewing options for Sioux hockey games this season
Snake replied to fightingsiouxfan86's topic in Men's Hockey
Mine was OK, just a minor jitter once in a while. -
The '97 team wore green, the 2000 team wore black. I'd say they started wearing black breezers the season they debuted the "black ice" jersey circa 1998-1999.

Gophers back on the schedule in a couple of years?
Snake replied to 82SiouxGuy's topic in Men's Hockey
We tend to recruit the same areas, and a lot of the kids come from the region with a history of playing with or against each other at the lower levels. To say they won't have any history with each other might not be accurate. College history, yes. If both teams are good, the rivalry will still be there. I think it will also carry the weight of NCHC vs. B1G conference supremacy. -
Gophers back on the schedule in a couple of years?
Snake replied to 82SiouxGuy's topic in Men's Hockey
No offense, but I think you're wrong. I think the little break will ramp up the intensity quite a bit! -
I've only used the shuttles from the ramp a couple of times when I've been back in town for a holiday series; but I can now say that I won't be plunking down money to park there any more. The family and I will just ride a shuttle from a bar/restaurant. Part of the appeal of actually paying to park there was getting a ride to the front door. I'm guessing that ramp will just sit there and be a lot more empty on game days! Why not try a slight cost increase instead of cutting a desirable service?

This could turn into a "careful what you wish for" real quick if the big schools actually travel to the small schools and hand them their lunch. Not saying that it for sure will happen, just that if it does happen it could be devastating for the small schools' chances of making the NCAA at-large.

I think BC gets back to the top of HEA, and I like Miami to win the inaugural NCHC title. I liked MSU-M last year and expect them to be the class is the WCHA. I give MN the slight edge in the B1G. I have no real good take on the other leagues. Can't wait for the season to start!

Seeing that the 2012/2013 thread has turned into an OSU love/hate-fest, I figured I'd do everyone a favor and start one for the actual upcoming 2013-2014 season...
-
It all depends on the quality of the stream! And $12/month for the sports pack x 6 months of the hockey season is only $72. Not much different cost-wise (except for the fact that I'll still carry the sports pack so now I'm paying for both).

I'm not sure because I didn't see anything obvious when doing a quick google search. Here is another article that makes it seem official, though: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capitals-insider/wp/2013/09/15/capitals-take-note-of-new-nhl-nets/

It's pretty simple: Hockey-wise, I'm sure OSU wouldn't make the short list of desirable opponents for this game. Exposure-wise, the OSU brand may draw in more casual fans - hopefully from their own school. I'm pretty sure there are way more "untapped resources" as far as potential college hockey fans in the OSU alumni base than in the UND alumni base. We're pretty much all indoctrinated into college hockey fandom as soon as we step on campus.
