  1. Right, but the numbers from the first column of the blog post didn't really match, so I didn't assume he was trying to present that data as the "zero win" scenario. Also, he presented the info in his forum post as "additional detail". Seems to me the first column is a more general "overall" probability.
  2. Hey, look at the bright side people, Tate got a well-deserved EXTENDED ovation from the fans in the house because of the Media timeout.
  3. These probabilities add up to > 1.
  4. Start looking for answers between the pipes. Ok, that's far enough!
  5. ...And poor Rocco can't buy one!
  6. This. For the last 5 periods, they have been absolutely dominated in the first few shifts after coming out from the intermission. Let's see how they start the first period today...
  7. I certainly don't. I've stated in the game thread that it seems to me the overall play by the forward group, particularly their inability to sustain pressure, is the most glaring issue.
  8. You may be right. If so, it would be interesting to see what happens.
  9. Does the league bring in new ref crews for game threes?
  10. Hard to say, but I'd think he should be able to fit the system to the talent for the time being until he gets "his type" of guys in there. The trouble with the "doesn't have his guys" theory is what about the incoming recruits? He didn't have a hand in them, either. This could be a 3-4 year process if that's how we want to look at it. There is plenty of evidence that these guys can play sound D. One would only need to pull up some film from last season to see what might work. To me it's up to the coach to put the players in the best position to be successful.
  11. Yeah, the fact that there was ZERO reaction from anyone on the ice makes sense now!
  12. Most of the time you hear coaches talk about being strong from the net-out. I almost feel it is the complete opposite with this squad right now. We gotta get the forwards working in the O zone and coming back to help the transition game. The D and goaltending will improve as a result.
  13. Sorry Goon, I usually agree but I can't in this instance. Seems to me MTU has no trouble winning races to every loose puck because they are working harder, not clutching. They are picking off the dump-ins and having free reign out of the zone. UND is slow to transition and aren't doing anything well to create space.
  14. They got it right. http://kellygreenwhite.wordpress.com/?attachment_id=1077
  15. Lately the entire crop of sophomore forwards + Rowney & Knight have been pretty invisible to me. The lack of sustained offensive pressure is worrisome. Also, it seems like for the last 5 periods we've been totally dominated on the first two shifts coming out of the intermission.
  16. This has everything to do with the COMPLETE INABILITY to sustain ANY sort of pressure in the offensive zone.
  17. Yeah, now that you mention it, I did notice that on the SCSU sweaters...nice touch.
  18. Aww, c'mon... Everyone knows they check the name on the FRONT of the jersey first!
  19. I like the UP patches on the left shoulder of the MTU sweaters.
  20. "Back in the Day" for me was college in the mid 90s. They were located right around the Columbia/Gateway Dr. intersection, weren't they? For some reason I seem to remember they never really made it back from the '97 flood.
  21. This team is difficult to get a read on, and it's for that reason I'm in no way going to attempt to predict what will happen. To me this playoff season is a "live in the moment" kind of event. The "inconsistency" on display can go both ways, not just negatively!
  22. I'll go with the "he's messing with the other teams' film study" theory!
  23. The "Denver Theory" would be another step further: lose in the 1st round, rest up, then win it all...2004, I think.
  24. This almost describes me to a tee as well.
