  1. Looks like they're linked based on the article posted in the former players thread.
  2. Actually, "stooping to the level" of Giroux would be answering the bell and dropping the gloves before the officials get involved...like most other self-respecting hockey players would do. Stooping to the level of Sid the KID (emphasis on the word kid) involves doing exactly what he did - throw punches under the veil of safety that is an intervening official.
  3. Dave - what is your opinion of Crosby throwing uppercuts after the official engaged the two to break the scrum up?
  4. They certainly let a lot of stuff go in the last 5 min of the 2nd. Should be a very entertaining 3rd.
  5. A tad bit of scoreboard reffing happening here at Ridder. 3-2 another PPG for MN on a lengthy scrum in front of the UND net.
  6. But is it a trend or a mirage? Seems like it's heading toward trend. When have we ever ranked dead last in scoring D in the last 10 years... And we're not even close to 7th. We aren't spending a ton of time on the PK, so this suggests to me that we either have terrible goaltending or we just don't possess the puck very much. I lean toward the latter.
  7. The remainder of this season hinges on this JR forward class.
  8. This is exactly why goaltending should not be the topic of conversation. There are greater deficiencies right now. But, when you need to limit your GA to 2 or less to win it's easy to criticize the mistakes by the net minders.
  9. I'm just saying why throw him to the wolves? It's a team game. The rest of the team needs to step up and take some pressure off the tender once in a while.
  10. It has nothing to do with goaltending. Why ruin the freshman?
  11. The only reason you say this is because we have nobody up front that can do ANYTHING.
  12. Thanks...I knew Kober and Fargo for sure. That was enough to get me rolling. Thanks for the rest!
  13. PC looks good now that it's up. What's the Hammer drinking game word list?
  14. Connection error here too on PC, but iPad works.
  15. How about brother duos that were 1st-rounders and played college hockey? I'm assuming that may be the context of AZSIOUX's question.
  16. He really should've been fired after the first time his team blew a two-goal lead in the third...whenever that was. ;-)
  17. They didn't need any other view than the mandatory overhead, so it shouldn't have taken nearly that long...unless they were trying to figure out how much time to put back on the clock.
  18. Announcers that call the shot counter a shot "clock." This isn't basketball and last I checked it is not a unit of time.
  19. It's because he is a warrior!
  20. Yet we have a large amount of Jr's that did practically nothing...
  21. I think that's a pretty fair assessment, Yzerman. I definitely agree with the 05-05 and 10-11 teams. I would bump the 11-12 team into the overachieve category. Also, if one of the overachieve years had been a natty, nobody would be complaining. That's what Blais was able to do. He had a couple teams that by all rights should've won it all but didn't. He was simply able to get his overachievers to the top....with a little help, of course (Michigan choked in '97).
  22. Well, in order to judge whether a team has over or under-achieved we would need to know the standard they were held to prior to the season. Can we accurately judge that? Or, is any team that didn't win a natty considered an underachiever? The only way to really evaluate something like this would be to compare preseason media and coaches polls to how the team finished that particular year. However, we all know how flawed early season polls are, so it is an inaccurate measure at best. Care to take a shot at labeling all of Hak's seasons?
  23. I agree to some degree, but there has been a serious lack of scoring chances lately so the emphasis on a lack of finishing is magnified. We just don't seem to have the puck a lot lately!
  24. So...Koivu, Harding, and Backstrom are making them unwatchable?
  25. I'm curious... who is left over from the Lemaire regime? Chuck Fletcher and Mike Yeo are straight out of the Ray Shero Pittsburgh regime. I'd say there's vastly more of a Pittsburgh influence on the current Wild team than a Lemaire influence.
