  1. The way Drake went to the net on Thursday, he could be a nice addition to that top line. Surely he has confidence going right now whereas O'Donnell may not, who knows. The funny thing about this is, when we had the DOT line, even though Duncan won the Hobey it seemed like he was the afterthought. Well...we may be witnessing what it's like to have a DOT line without the D. Knight and Kristo really need their Duncan! I always tell myself that Hak is just playing possum and not getting a lot of these guys together on film for a reason!
  2. Unfortunately you can go back slightly further to 2004 vs. DU..ugh...
  3. As far as I know they've never started a Final Five as early as March 14, which would've happened this year if it was your so-called "normal" time. This year it's just a result of the calendar lining up this way. Most tourneys get into the March 20s. See 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, etc.
  4. I hope their championship goes multiple OTs... Make things interesting!
  5. Yes, I agree. It's only a "Harvin for Jennings" scenario if you actually thought the Vikings had a shot to sign Percy to a long-term deal. That wasn't in the cards and I think the Vikings did pretty well all things considered. I was mainly referring to how Oxbow presented the situation.
  6. Exactly. To say that a school shouldn't put an outline of their state on their jerseys because some elitists think they aren't a representative of said state is pompous and ridiculous.
  7. St. Cloud STATE is the St. Cloud arm of the STATE university system. I suppose you UMTC elitists would prefer it be called St. Cloud City University, though. You may not argue with stupid; I choose not to let comments from citiots go unchallenged.
  8. It really depends on what the Vikings do with their picks from the Harvin trade before I will make a judgement on the "Harvin for Jennings" scenario.
  9. Well, then the UM-TC should just have a patch representing the 694/494 loop on their shoulders since they are "just" the UM - Twin Cities.
  10. We might be better, but it's going to be interesting to see if the moves the Lions and Bears have made will pay off. Those two clubs *should* be better too. Looks like the division will be extremely competitive once again.
  11. One more question: How are we supposed to read the table in the blog post? There are three columns, but four possible outcomes for UND (Win 0, 1, 2, or 3). I wanted to assume the first column was "Win 0," but those numbers didn't match very well. Your "win 3" scenario for UND in your forum post matches the right-hand column in your blog post, but the "win 3" label cannot apply for non-WCHA teams that only have two games remaining, yet they are showing probable outcomes in the table under that column. Seems to me the table should have 4 columns, with data in the right-hand column only for those WCHA teams playing on Tursday. Is there something I'm not catching?
  12. Right, but the numbers from the first column of the blog post didn't really match, so I didn't assume he was trying to present that data as the "zero win" scenario. Also, he presented the info in his forum post as "additional detail". Seems to me the first column is a more general "overall" probability.
  13. Hey, look at the bright side people, Tate got a well-deserved EXTENDED ovation from the fans in the house because of the Media timeout.
  14. These probabilities add up to > 1.
  15. Start looking for answers between the pipes. Ok, that's far enough!
  16. This. For the last 5 periods, they have been absolutely dominated in the first few shifts after coming out from the intermission. Let's see how they start the first period today...
  17. I certainly don't. I've stated in the game thread that it seems to me the overall play by the forward group, particularly their inability to sustain pressure, is the most glaring issue.
  18. You may be right. If so, it would be interesting to see what happens.
  19. Does the league bring in new ref crews for game threes?
  20. Hard to say, but I'd think he should be able to fit the system to the talent for the time being until he gets "his type" of guys in there. The trouble with the "doesn't have his guys" theory is what about the incoming recruits? He didn't have a hand in them, either. This could be a 3-4 year process if that's how we want to look at it. There is plenty of evidence that these guys can play sound D. One would only need to pull up some film from last season to see what might work. To me it's up to the coach to put the players in the best position to be successful.
  21. Yeah, the fact that there was ZERO reaction from anyone on the ice makes sense now!
  22. Most of the time you hear coaches talk about being strong from the net-out. I almost feel it is the complete opposite with this squad right now. We gotta get the forwards working in the O zone and coming back to help the transition game. The D and goaltending will improve as a result.
  23. Sorry Goon, I usually agree but I can't in this instance. Seems to me MTU has no trouble winning races to every loose puck because they are working harder, not clutching. They are picking off the dump-ins and having free reign out of the zone. UND is slow to transition and aren't doing anything well to create space.
