Lucia speaks for Broten, Woog and Parise and saves the world
Snake replied to yababy8's topic in Men's Hockey
I have no opinion one way or the other, but empty seats are a lot easier to spot when the people in the arena are seated. -
Man, I hope so!

But it's THIS year, Goon! SWEEP!
-
Is there another way to split?
-
They already admitted failure by bringing in Josh Freeman.
-
John Scott in the NHL.
-
So, how much additional expense did they incur giving free rides to all the people that weren't paying to park in the ramp, thus contributing to the ramp/shuttle service going into the red and consequently forcing a shutdown?
-
You ever tried to take a leak at the Metrodome?!? Parking is the least of their problems!
-
I like how you killed your argument in the same paragraph. People would simply choose to shop where they don't have to pay for parking if it was overall beneficial to them. Try finding another UND hockey game to go to where you don't have to pay for parking and walk into the arena in the cold...
-
I am just referring to paying $20 to park in the ramp with the shuttle service as it was. I'm curious what some would be willing to pay because clearly they're not charging enough (assuming the demand is there) if they can't make it work financially. How high would you be willing to go to have covered parking and a ride to the front door every game?
-
If the break-even point was $20/night to have a shuttle bus (assuming no drop-off in users), would you pay it?

According to this, there is a deal in place with Hockey East. http://www.hockeyeas...media/nbcsn.php However, reading more into it, they may have separate deals with both Notre Dame and Hockey east, because the HEA agreement only specifies up to 12 games over the next two years. Those games are probably aside from what they've already contracted to do with Notre Dame. Edit: Further searching backs the above statement: http://www.und.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/101113aab.html
-
Have you seen how heavily weighted the NBC sports "Hockey East" schedule is toward Notre Dame? I'm sure everyone on here currently complaining about the CBS Sports deal would be so happy to have Notre Dame featured on 12 of the 17 broadcasts if they were in the NCHC.

I don't think the effort is terrible... Just a couple bad breaks, and shaky officiating.

This announcer sucks and Rico is a whiner.

Miami site shows 7 central.
-
Yep, I saw that. Love his intensity - something the Twins haven't had in a few years. I don't think it's a mere coincidence they didn't win a single playoff series after they traded him. Heck, in all the playoff series post AJ they only won one or two GAMES!
-
Miami's site lists 8:00 EDT, 7:00 Central.

I thought Miami really pushed the pace early, and I was worried if UND would be able to match it. After that early PK they stepped it up and played to Miami's pace. I think this really helped our guys do what you described above - play without over-thinking things. I noticed a lot of good, instinctive play out there last night.

I'd guess a 9-2 whooping is more than goaltending!
-
Nice effort by the boys. Liked how they handled the last 5 minutes of the game. I thought they were positionally sound for the most part- more than I'm used to seeing over the past few years.
-
Sorry, but when a guy wheels around the net untouched and fires it through all the pylons watching it's probably tough for a net minder to stay with it. Seriously, the entire team just coasted for the last 3 minutes of the period. Ugh!
-
Miami's team is too young, especially on D, to handle the pressure of being the #1 team in a nationally televised game. UND has nothing to lose and will play loose. I like our chances!

I'm happy they have at least seemingly acknowledged the err of their ways after three years with Ponder. Some GMs can be stubborn and go down with the ship. Tarvaris Jackson, anyone?
