  1. Fixed your post
  2. I will be there for three of the games. There will be two of us at the Friday afternoon game sitting in the club seats. Saturday there will be three of us, club seats for the 3rd place game and upper level for the championship. Thanks to everyone that is posting tips for the newbies like myself...I have been to Denver and Anchorage away games but this will be my first Final Five. Unbelievably excited! Also, I thought I read somewhere that the buses will be free on Saturday to keep people from driving drunk.
  3. Since Saturday is on St. Patrick's Day, do you need to factor in the parade?
  4. Okay, so I have a question, that is actually something I don't know but need to find out. My aunt has an authentic jersey she bought in either '85 or '86 at the old Ralph. She wants to know whose jersey it is, and I can't seem to find any rosters from that time frame. It's number 5, and it would be someone who played around 85 or 86 range. Any thoughts on whose jersey it was or how I can find out? Thanks!
  5. I am thinking this is probably the best place to ask this: I have a bunch of people coming to Grand Forks this weekend, and we are all going to the hockey game on Saturday night. One of the members of the group isn't a beer drinker. Is there a way to get mixed drinks at the game (not in the suites)? I have had season tickets for many years now, but only drink beer if imbibing. Just trying to be a good host!
  6. So do we.
  7. Cue Chris Farley and Norm from Cheers: "Da Bearss, da Bearss, da Bearss, da Bearss, da Bearss" The first football game I ever saw was Super Bowl XX, I was hooked and a Bears fan ever since
  8. I did some searching, too, and according to a bunch of websites, "Saturday Night's Alright (for Fighting)" by Nickelback is on their The Long Road CD--although my roommate has that CD and it isn't listed on the back It is also on the Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle soundtrack but iTunes only has two songs from that CD available If you find it anywhere else, let me know.
  9. May God grant their families peace and comfort during this hard time.
  10. On the father/son combo, I would like to throw in the Dahlens, Andy and Tyler.
  11. Okay. Here is what I have been told by the parking office in numerous meetings/information sessions. For the last few years, people without a permit could park on campus after 5pm. In addition, sports fans could park in the Memorial Stadium lot for free and take the University provided shuttle to sporting events. All of this "traffic" adds to the regular wear and tear of the lots. How does the parking office/university fund the repair of the lots? By charging students more money in parking permit rates and/or parking ticket fines. This seemed unfair to the parking office (and to me, actually) to have students pay for damage that wasn't completely done by students. So, now the lots are patrolled for permits until 10pm. **On a sidebar, there are a lot of students whose programs only offer classes in the evening, including the grad program I am in, so these folks were able to get an entire degree from UND and park on campus without paying for a permit, something students in other programs don't have the luxury of doing**. I believe the $5 charge for folks to park in Memorial and Tabula parking lot is just another way to keep the costs for students down by raising money for the parking office. That was also one of the main reasons given for building the parking ramp--using it as a means to raise money. We shall see if they continue to charge $5 to park in Memorial and Tabula after the parking ramp is completed...
  12. I was at both of the DU/UND games in Denver this year. I don't have hard numbers, but I can tell you with certainty that on Saturday night there were more UND fans in the stands than DU students.
  13. I was at the ticket office about a week ago and they said they were waiting on getting some ticket stock in and once they had that they would print up the FB tickets.

    WE Fest

I will be there...camping and everything else for the entire weekend. For the third year in a row we are in the reserved lawn chair section. It's a little more spendy, but at least we can go back to the campsite and know that our seats will be there when we get back to the concert bowl. Of course now I have a wacky collection of captain's chairs with WeFest logos in multiple colors.
  15. Because they saw the two press conferences in which Lucia said that his team was playing a worthless game?

    Sad News

During college I worked as a server at Highway Host, where Jeff and his dad Earl and some other guys would have coffee every afternoon. I always looked forward to seeing them and Jeff-Jeff's big smile. I know it was hard on him when his dad died, at least now they are reunited. Jeff-Jeff, you will be missed.
  17. The big differences are that the B.G.S degree and Engineering degrees are offered online or through correspondence, neither of which are available at NDSU, hence they aren't duplicates and are still able to be offered.
  18. Thanks, PCM! According to the controls, my other avatar was the correct dimensions, but obviously not the right size. I apparently must learn how to make pictures "light" enough to fit the size requirements. GeauxSioux, when I first read "do something about that avatar" it felt like a command...yell was obviously too harsh of a word, but I was a little embarassed (and oversensitive). I apologize if I offended you in any way. I feel I convey messages better vocally, which is the main reason why I don't post here all that often.
  19. I don't know how. Am I breaking board rules? Have I been breaking rules for a long time now? How come it took 140some odd posts until someone yelled at me for this? I really am wondering about this, not trying to be defensive.
  20. I believe Geremiah Holy Bull (sorry if I spelled his name wrong) did during the 2001 Championship celebration at the Alerus, but that was the only time I remember seeing someone in full dress leading the team onto the field. It gave me goosebumps.
  21. So... Did anyone see the WDAZ followup to the story on the old Engelstad Arena in which they interviewed Tom Buning? In that story, Tom HIMSELF said that athletics is preparing a proposal for use of the land, and that both their proposal and the EERC proposal will be considered. I didn't see the WDAZ report D1Sioux was talking about (I am guessing it's the same one discussed here.), but I did see this one.
  22. Yeah, but I would think they would at least wait for the task force to finish before any announcement is made. But that's just me.
  23. While it may feel like a foregone conclusion, I don't think all of the necessary information is in. I know that just this week UND staff was asked to complete an online survey regarding their opinion of a move. I have also heard that the chair of the Task Force is still writing the document that informs Pres. Kupchella of the group's findings.
  24. And it was announced that Jason Holt resigned. Link I know this isn't the subject of this thread, but I wonder if it will have an effect on the volleyball team, like the Herald article that mentions the effect Glas leaving would have on incoming basketball recruits.
  25. my .02 I don't know who the next head coach should be. I am definitely not an insider for the MBB program, and won't claim to know more than any one else, but I do believe that there should be a national search. The MBB program may have been less than stellar recently, but it is a storied program with fabulous facilities, and as such should attract interest from around the country. Should Herbst become coach? Maybe. He deserves an interview, IMO. After that it is up to him to show the decision makers that he is the right person for the job.
