I disagree. For most football teams, the latter portion of a schedule is reserved for/filled with conference games. I don't think most teams have a whole lot of choice with late season scheduling, regardless of FCS/DII status.

I have no real offical rules to base this on, and there is a very good chance that I made the whole thing up in my head, but I always thought that you couldn't play two guys with the same number. Gudmudson and Ankenbauer both played last night with the number 14. That threw me off a little bit. This morning when my coworkers asked about the game, I had to mention Stroup's block. I just pictured stars and birdies flying around poor #72's head. Other happy highlight of my night was when Hellevang was able to kick a touchback from the 15 yard line.

While it may be your opinion on why DII teams historically haven't "played up," it is a bit of an unfair statement, considering that only very recently the criterion for DII playoff selection changed to no longer penalize teams for playing outside their division. If playing up kept a team out of the playoffs, of course you wouldn't see it happen a lot, regardless of the size of the fish and pond. Of course, the big fish of the ponds are also the teams that are most likely to have a shot at the postseason and least likely to take any scheduling steps to jeopardize that. My 2 cents on that. Carry on with your debate.

I shuffled to my mailbox today, and found my letter...I have two tickets! I am one happy hockey fan. Not sure why it took so long to arrive, though. My football and hockey season tickets also arrived today. What a good day.

I am definitely going to Mankato (it's nice having UND-grad friends living there), and hopefully some other games as well. Gotta wait on that decision until I have a better idea of the cash flow situation. So far I have been to Denver and Alaska games. I thought it might be nice to hit up some closer venues this round.

I am for sure going to Mankato. I would love to go to the Western Washington game, but I am not so sure the wallet will allow it. Hopefully I will make it to at least one more "closer" away game this season.

I think that since the exchange rate is so good right now, tuition at UND is much more reasonable to the Canadian student. For a long time it was a hard sell to convince Canadian students to pay such a higher amount of tuition (as well as take the ACT or SAT, something not required for college admission in Canada).
