  1. Big question for me is center. Babak was average last year, I think largely uncomfortable playing the center spot. Is Lotysz practicing this spring? I wonder if Ben Christian can slide down from guard to center and be any better, then put another road grader at guard.
  2. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/high-school/2022/01/19/iowa-high-school-football-cade-borud-hockey-southeast-polk-north-dakota/6563047001/ Story on new recruit Cade Borud detailing how growing up playing hockey played a role in his OL play. Pretty cool.
  3. Instead of taking up a portion of the walkway on the end zones, and being separated by a measly curtain, I think it'd be a lot nicer and probably a lot more profitable to do something that a lot of NFL stadiums are doing now, which is putting suites on the turf level. It keeps the railings clear for SRO, and there would be that air of exclusivity to be on the field that I think people who'd be willing to pay for the Peterson Porch are shooting for. Call it the Peterson Patio if they still want naming rights
  4. I think this is going to be this year's special teams game. In the spring against SDSU, UND had a blocked kick, blocked punt, and a fake punt converted for a first down. I'm hoping Kostich pulls a rabbit out of his ass and I'm predicting a blocked punt and a kick returned to the house. Call it the mystique of the Alerus Center, but there's always something strange that happens when UND plays a ranked opponent at home.
  5. I like it, I don't have to go find articles about each game. MVFC blog helps summarize what happened. He does a good job.
  6. Looked like he got his shoulder popped pretty well on his second fumble. Stayed down and held it once he walked off. I actually like Boltmann better in the role anyways. He's a significantly better runner, but a slightly worse passer. With how rare Quincy passes anyway, it seems like it would be smarter to have the better runner in there.
  7. UND wins but doesn't cover, 35-10
  8. I won two season tickets in a raffle, but already have season tickets. So I will be selling the set that I won much cheaper than retail, for $50. I do know that it is section 202, row D, seats 20 and 21. Anyone interested please message me.
  9. If I predicted this game in March, I'd say UND by two scores. JMU looked very good in the first round, and their strengths play into our weaknesses. I can't see UND winning this. JMU 28, UND 21.
  10. Admittedly, they are pretty decent. 9 sacks over 6 games, but I didn’t think VMI’s d-line was very good. On top of that, there were a number of times that the QB broke arm tackles that I don’t think our defense would allow. It also seemed that they struggled to switch on stunts and late blitzes, which our D does a lot of
  11. They were trashing Tommy's size, while their QB will get knocked down by a stiff breeze
  12. I think I heard or read somewhere that portal players need to be registered to attend in the fall by May 1st to be eligible. Not sure if that is true or not, but it would make the timeline of departure make sense.
  13. I might take the dogs across the board, the only one I might lean favorites here is SDSU.
  14. A field goal off
  15. Appears to be a little more than 200 seats remaining on Ticketmaster. A few upper deck sections on the visitor's side, only end zones left on UND's side. Hope the Al is still as loud as ever on Saturday!
  16. After 4 weeks off and almost a full year gameplanning this team, I'm expecting big things. 41-10, UND.
  17. Took a look at that Mo State and Youngstown game, it looked like the Youngstown RB could've housed it 6 times, but didn't hit the hole fast enough or couldn't break an arm tackle. If Otis has even a halfway decent game, he has 3 touchdowns. The corners do love playing up on the line, so we will need to pass the ball down the field a bit more than we have. Besides that, keep their QB in the pocket and keep ours upright, I think we'll cover the spread on this one, win by more than a TD.
  18. I’m just looking to cover the spread. UND +3.5, lock it in and don’t look back
  19. Not sure how many subscribe to The Athletic here, but a really good writeup from a really good national publisher. Spoiler Alert: Score prediction is 34-13 UND. That's probably a dream scenario for me. I think it will be much much closer. https://theathletic.com/2460537/2021/03/18/fcs-preview-and-best-bets-north-dakota-state-vs-north-dakota-breakdown-a-sam-houston-state-blowout-and-more/
  20. Playing for the Bronze Beet.
  21. The corners, I think, haven't been bad by any means. I think the safeties get caught too often on play action and are slow to recover and protect against the deep ball. It just seems like too often there is a wide receiver running free over the middle when the corners want to hand off coverage to the safeties but the safeties are out of position.
  22. We know Miller is more mobile, but I think the big question is how well does he do throwing? There's gotta be some reason Zeb won the job originally. IIRC, he had a very good back shoulder throw to Watson early on in the game. I think that's going to be the big thing. UND typically has done a good job with containing QBs, but if he starts picking apart the secondary, who has been the weakness so far of the defense, it'll be a long day.
