Yeah, needs to stop standing over the opposing receiver and flexing in his face, that's going to get him sometime soon if he doesn't stop
-
Big moment of the game too was Ocansey knocking away the 2-point conversion attempt, forcing YSU to need a touchdown to win it instead of a field goal to tie it. I think Ocansey has been playing a lot better, and is especially good when playing man coverages. He's very instinctual and always stays tight to the receiver.

He's second in MVFC and 14 in the country in average return yards, he's been valuable putting us into good field position consistently. I think he'll bust one sooner rather than later
-
NDSU played an extremely sloppy game, they could've had 3 interceptions and just didn't hold on to the ball. Their offense kept committing penalties too, with holdings and false starts. That'll be an emphasis for our guys up front too, having a 3 yard loss on isn't as bad as getting set back 10 yards with a penalty.

He did, took a handoff out of the backfield after Smith got an ankle twisted and Hoosman had a helmet pop almost all the way off
-
Presnap motions can also help the qb understand what formation the defense is in, like man or different types of zones, based on if a player follows Red out or if they shift their secondary over to account for the extra man

Watched the film from all but their FBS game against Kentucky, and here's what I saw: Offense Look for Hoosman to have another big game. He should get a lot of opportunities again and should be able to churn out some big plays Besides YSU’s game against Kentucky, we have the best passing game they’ve seen so far. Duquesne and Dayton have bad offenses altogether, and NDSU can’t/won’t pass at all Tough to really judge their defense so far, they looked okay/decent against some bad FCS teams, stacked 8-9 in the box against NDSU, and got worked over by Kentucky Defense/Special Teams Their rb McGlauglin will get his yards. He is small in stature, 5’9”, 180, but he is strong and slippery. He consistently got yardage after contact against all teams so far but Kentucky. Speaking of McGlauglin, they run a ton of screens to him to get him in space. He’ll produce 70-80 percent of their offense They run most of their offense through zone reads, so ends and linebackers need to know their assignments Expect an interception by our defense this week. Both their qbs stink at throwing the ball Wouldn’t be surprised to see Siegel return one this week, he’s been close nearly every game, I think he can bust one this week

Yeah, if we win out we'd beat the number 2 team at home and the number 1 team in their place. We'd probably be top 2, since those two will play each other too. One week at a time, though, all attention should be on the Pens

Re-watched the game last night too, and I'll repeat what's been said a hundred times, adding Hoosman has been a godsend. He consistently churns 3-4 more yards after initial contact, always falls forward, and finds holes where there doesn't appear to be any. In addition, Isaiah Smith catching out of the backfield has been huge. He was our second leading receiver Saturday, and while he may struggle at times to run between the tackles, in the open field off of screens and slip routes, he is so dangerous. Our backfield, including Tommy, has been incredible so far for us.

Possession Time: 36:00 for UND, 24:00 for Mo State. Holding the ball for 12 extra minutes is exactly what was needed. And that includes 3 touchdowns from 38 yards and beyond. We had a 7+ minute drive in Q3 that ended in a Quincy touchdown. All around, great job by the offense

Will that practice court just be behind one of the permanent end seats?
-
I think the best way to pull off a win is through time of possession. Hold on to the ball for as long as possible, execute in the red zone, and keep the ball out of Shelley's hands.

Took me a little longer this week to watch any film on Missouri State, I was feeling down after a lifeless game on Saturday. Finally got to it today, here's what I saw from Mo St: Offense Mo State will drop 8 into coverage on passing downs, opportunity for delayed handoffs to pick up chunk yards I have a feeling this game we’ll see Danny unload some gadget plays. Seems like these games, when we play a good opponent at home, are when Danny dials up the trickeration Average linebackers for Missouri St, especially in run game, o-line needs to get to second level, lock on, and push them to the third and fourth level Defense/Special Teams Shelley will probably have 7-8 rushes that pick up first downs. On the other 50 plays, we need to rein him in. They run a lot out of 4 receiver sets, spreading defense out. Need to clog run lanes up the middle Broken record, but corners and safeties NEED to get on the same page, love taking deep shots on early downs SDSU had two missed field goals in the first half, we need to execute on special teams
-
First receiver to commit, still don't have any RBs committed, so linemen are definitely the priority in this class.
-
Seems like pretty affordable memberships as well
-
Stone Labanowitz for this one, former SIU qb. I believe Kasowski will still be doing home games for us
-
Great news for this one too, SIU is going to use Midco’s broadcast for the ESPN+ feed, so you should be able to hear Brian Shawn no matter what
-
I'm expecting a big game from Buckner with how much they run those TE crosses and outs. Should see him lay a couple big licks on their guys.
-
Skokna out this week again, Elijah Klein may get his first action this year. Casey Schultz seems to just be fighting through the pain, he's been banged up in just about every game. Couple of injured backup tight ends, but otherwise pretty healthy this week.
-
Also, 7'6" Wingspan. He's got pterodactyl arms.
-
Nigerian immigrant who played basketball growing up, he didn't put on a helmet until he got to U of Manitoba in the fall of 2020. Extremely raw kid, but someone with tons of potential.
-
Northwestern had some of the slowest linebackers I've ever seen, and SIU was able to cook them with tight end passes across the middle and running out wide. I'd expect our inside linebackers to step up and make those plays.
-
Off topic, but we need to start calling our RB screen passes Freundian slips. It makes too much sense
-
No snap issues once Lotysz got in, and I thought he held up well against an NAU defense that likes to move downhill. I also tried to pay close attention to Bryant in his first start this year, and thought he played as advertised, big bowling ball who can move some people downfield. No sacks given up, 4.5 yards/carry, very happy overall with the OL.
